Oh wow so Russia would've NOOOOOKED or escalated if this was allowed in 2022 or 2023, or even early this year, but now they won't and it's fine. Fricking load of cucks. It's also the same load of cucks that allowed the 2014 shit under Obama.

No wonder Putin decided it was the best moment and still thinks he can win.

      >No wonder Putin decided it was the best moment and still thinks he can win.
tbf the timing was good from monke. Burgers having corn pop+obamas c team, war fatigue and a rising isolationist sentiment; UK having a new PM every month; scholz; orban beign a outright public asset etc

Its the military and overconfident silovik that fricked up. That and monke refusing to buffer them with the meat they needed to bum rush ukraine (200k vs 1+mil needed for a successful surprise invasion)

Taking multiple cities with million+ population was always utterly unrealistic.

I thought they are going to cut into the south going for Odessa establishing land bridge to Moldova in like a month before Ukrainians can create real resistance. And that would probably actually work, and instead of two years of this clown fest entire world would be shitting itself over glorious genius of Putin.

But they bought into their own propaganda and thought taking entire Ukraine in a week is realistic.

          Anonymous

Taking Odessa would have made an incredibly large front that the Ukrainians could punch through piecemeal. Going for the knockout blow against Kiev was the best move, which they should have known before they started probably wouldn't work

            Anonymous

Apparently Putin believed that secrecy and speed were the two primary factors that could bring success, and to keep secrecy there were only about 10 people in his inner circle who knew for sure what he was planning. Putin and those ten people did little if any red-teaming, and all internal projections assumed blue sky outcomes. Which is why he went for the knockout in Kyiv, and when that failed he didn't have a Plan B at first.

They didn't expected to take anything, they expected the ukie goverment will run away and the army to roll over and take it with a token resistance at best, hence the homosexual units in the first convoys to kiev.

It wasn't a surprise. It was announced days in advance. It's like Covid being well known in 2019, we already knew it was a bio-engineered lab virus from Wuhan before anyone even called it a fricking pandemic.

        >surprise invasion
I really can't figure out where you morons keep coming up with this narrative. Biden was warning the world in September 2021 through January 2022 that rasshia was about to invade, that all the activity in Belarus and the "war games" were a cover. Was your mommy still wiping your butthole and tying your nappies for the last two years? Did you even watch one single news broadcast before Feb 2022? Because Biden was being crucified in the press every night for months for telling the world "Jesus fricking Christ, you people, monke is assembling an invasion force and is about to invade!" several times a week from the end of August through January into February.

and ukranians along with several western intel apparatus were dismissing the warnings as not feasible. You would know that if you actually payed attention to what was going on at the time you absolute gold fish memory moron.

big scramble in the final hours before the war was zelensky going around trying to call monke for negotiations as well as rallying the state apparatus to get off its feet and start scrambling for war. Southern flank was breached down in crimea precisely because fifth column elements had removed the pre layed minefields and existing defense points were unmanned. main reason they got kherson was as the fifth columnists also refused to rig the bridge for detonation handing it over to them intact. Later on main turncoat from the area was caught trying to escape to serbia with over half a mil worth of diamond/gold etc

1+mil invasion force is based upon what germans and vatniks deployed for ukraine in ww2 as a realistic number to occupy the country in a military invasion followed with anti-insurgency repression+purges. Odessa alone demanded over 300k from the germans

Ofcourse the Ukrainians publicly dismissed the threat and appeared not-ready (the Javelin and most experienced troops were totally randomly at the exact incursion points) so that the confirmed invasion force would come in non-expecting resistance.

tbh I'm unclear on the scale of the immediate upside here. How many high-value targets are within an accessible radius from the front lines that are also in Russian territory? How many of those has Ukraine not been able to innovate its way to blowing up anyway? Does UAF has the necessary stockpile of Western munitions to take advantage? Or is the idea that this will just make it easier to blow up massing Russian troops on the other side of the border?

Can't believe I'm saying, but one really has to empathize with the vatniks from time to time. Westerners sit at home in their decadent comfort posting "TZD" without a care in the world, whereas for the Russians, this is an existential matter. They're already staring down the barrel of national catastrophe and then here comes a sudden spate of greenlights for Ukraine to begin pounding away at Russia itself with western weaponry.

It's no wonder that they're lashing out.

In case you're genuinely misunderstanding and not pretending: if we don't help Ukraine crush Russia here, eventually they'll come for the Baltics & Finland & Poland, because Russia thinks they're entitled to rule over everyone they ever ruled over. And we have a defensive alliance (NATO) with all five of those countries. Which means we'd be at war with Russia, which means Americans would be fighting Russia. Realistically Ukraine won't receive JASSM. Tomahawk isn't as survivable as SS/SCALP and the US wants to conserve the stockpile for potential BS with china. Hypersonic weapons like LRHW are a no go for obvious reasons beyond the WH stupid fear of escalation. SM-6 has the same issue that the US needs the capability elsewhere and production hasn't ramped up to a point where they can spare more than a token amount if they even wanted to. That leaves you with few options, but they could hand over some SLAM-ER (~250-290km). JSOW-ER got canned but would have had 500km range.

Ukraine really needs help from partners to produce it's own domestic long range fires. Ukraine has options to deal damage to Russia like Hrim-2, Neptune, and particularly Vilkha MLRS (for the belgorod memes) but production numbers are extremely low. There's also the issue of the US being massive homosexuals and whining about muh western weapons used on Russia and that probably extends to supply chains and western parts used in these systems.

      I agree.
US should be sending funding specifically to increase ukraine domestic drone production to among other things, increase their long range strike abilities
or send resource/material for that same purpose
they never will since they don't like the strategic bombing campaign on russian oil infrastructure, but someone else could, and would definitely be effective.
Just imagine them scaling up the drone attacks by double. I think that's doable.

We don't know but I'd be fairly certain that they went for more air defense sites/high value targets. ATACMS clusters are not bridge killers and we don't know the CEP of the newer variants like M57 to even begin to figure out if they can use those. Assuming Storm Shadow is still the gimped 250km version Ukraine would have to fly an Su-24 directly over robot-town in Zapo to put them in range.

There's still plenty of targets inside Crimea itself besides the bridge too.

That pic is specifically from the Tenderloin district in San Francisco and, from the looks of it, probably one of the worst parts of it. The important context here is that the Tenderloin has probably been a seedy red-light district for 100 years or so. If you went there in the 1930s it's where the brothels would be. I used to go to S.F. for work and got put up there in an Airbnb once and turned down one street and it was loaded with homeless people and open defecation, but there was contrast between that and these ridiculously wealthy and scenic neighborhoods (and also fantastic weather, not like where I live in Texas). Apart from the homeless the city overall seemed loaded and if anything they've priced out everybody else.

    >most of the country is incredibly clean when compared to Third World cities, Burlington and Hamilton are neat, and the infrastructure is something many in the global south can only dream of
Reminded me of seeing some video filmed by an Indian walking around a pretty typical American suburbs and seeing the landscaping on the side of the road and being like "holy crap this is just a regular neighborhood."

The big thing is problems in the West are self-inflicted. We can solve them whenever we want; we just don't want to.
Partially because our government is inept and crying out for a French Necktie, partially because the left is infected with marxism, and partially because the Ivans and Chinese are astroturfing the stupidest elements of our society.
Which is why TZD is a good thing - once Russia collapses, the volume of shilling in the west goes down.
Once we knock off China and India, too, then we can address our domestic issues without anyone getting involved.

        Anonymous

        >The big thing is problems in the West are self-inflicted. We can solve them whenever we want; we just don't want to.
I think one issue is that actually fixing the problems is going to take a lot of boring, hard work over time. It just won't happen in a day. If the president was honest with people, they'd hate him. If Biden came out tomorrow and said "let's cut the shit, because frankly we're in a lot of it, and there's really not a damn lot I can do for this economy tomorrow or even next year, but I can try to place some things in place to get the ball rolling, but folks, you aren't going to wake up tomorrow and it'll be all cupcakes, so... just try not to die on us." People will destroy him.

So all politicians have to lie or bend the truth or come up with some story. Some are better at it than others because they are more persuasive, like Bill Clinton. He lied a lot lmao but... he was really good at it, and if he was allowed to run for a third term, he would've won. Hillary Clinton is nothing like this. Her 2016 persona was so obviously an artificial #girlboss construct designed to protect her from her own weaknesses as a politician and a human being (notably a lack of warmth). Now when she makes an appearance she's, like, I don't give a frick and btw college students are moronic (but saying that in politics probably would help you get elected):

        >partially because the left is infected with marxism, and partially because the Ivans and Chinese are astroturfing the stupidest elements of our society.
One clue is the use of "useful idiots" to cause chaos. Inject enough stupid people into a system and chaos will ensue. We should not suffer the employment of fools to degrade society.
