I wonder how long it took them to realize you need to purge the tanks before you take a torch to them.

I doubt this is a real article, those tanks are usually made for specific chemicals, often lined with glass or whatever materials needed to keep the contents from corroding it all. Just seems like an expensive waste

This stuff is so strange. They claim to get intel about stuff Russia is doing or going to do, and they say it openly. It seems to be such a mind game. Like all those "there will be a (false-)false-flag attack", which both side claim about nuclear plants or dirty bombs.

Same with this whole "SMO", they openly said that Russia was to attack before it happened.

The intention is to dissuade them from doing it
The info leaks in February managed to delay the invasion by at least two days

The US and UK did it during the lead up because Russia has a pretty consistent track record of trying to obfuscate and deny things that are blatantly observable (think the taking of Crimea, Russian govt denied it was their troops despite them clearly all having Russian MoD equipment and speaking Russian and then Russia taking Crimea right after they show up), the idea seems to have been preempting Russian attempts to spin a narrative about what was happening. A lot of the current US State Department have been around since Putin took back over from Medvedev and Russia starting taking a more aggressive stance and actively undermining Western interests and are extremely fricking tired of Russian Black persondom - to them Russia has effectively trapped itself in Ukraine and they are dead set on seeing it bleed itself out and are very familiar with the increasingly stale PR games Russia plays.

Ukraine seems to be just trying to keep attention and tension high while making Russia second guess their actions if the Ukrainians are actually right.

        >We know what you're going to do so stop doing it.
        It's not that strange

Yeah, that would be my guess too, but some of the ideas are so wacky that it sounds surreal. Maybe I just need to accept that Russia truly is the clown empire in this clown world.

I mean, a false-false flag that means that one side is using a dirty bomb on... I can't even grasp how Russia could imagine this would be done and how. Sounds like some silly movie-twist that doesn't make any sense at all.

          >but some of the ideas are so wacky that it sounds surreal
It's the same as with their propaganda, it isn't allowed to stop, there always has to be something new, something their idiots can parrot or cling to. Creating a void with a short period of silence is a threat for systems like Russia, even the mundane possibility of that would create an opportunity of something new developing that isnt under their control. Also dont forget, the real goal is not to sell the lies, but to drown you in so many lies you cant find or see the truth anymore. It's what kept the USSR running until it killed it.

It seems like it backfired a bit then, since they appear to have drunk the kool-aid themselves. That is they
            > drown [...]in so many lies [that they] cant find or see the truth anymore.

Kinda scary how lies can create such a cultural insanity.

It's the usual russia "let's spread a bunch of FUD about and claim it was *them* so that there's a competing narrative (no matter how vacuous) for us to latch on to"
Just repeat the same lie often enough and it takes on the aura of legitimacy.

If you give people the correct information BEFORE they get exposed to fake news it hardens them against the fake news.

Once the Russian lies get their hooks into people it's too late to change their mind. Be fast and be first is the new dogma for influence operations.

It's playbook maskirovka, they have used such tactics since for ever, eg. the transfer of Soviet assets in Cuba that led to the missile crisis.

Thing is i don't really believe they are doing it now...opening that front would most likely end up in a disaster

If you think logically, the whole war has been colosally moronic. The ukies didn't believe that russia would attack, because they had so few troops at the border. Yet here we are.
