An engine to specifically keep you in place? Seems a bit unnecessary.

They'll take back the launch industry from Elon Musk any day now!

Energia II would compete with Falcon Heavy, if they got their shit together.

This looks like a variant of a pulse detonation engine. Great concept, except that we don't have materials that can withstand the abuse the engine would receive.

      Same concept just constant thrust.

the casing has to be harmonically balanced so that it's centers of percussion perfectly line up with the oscillation created by the detonations. this would really limit it's rpm range.
      >outside that range it's like watching a vocalist break stemware

In the same sense that an internal combustion engine is a variant of an external combustion engine.

Frick all that what is going on with the lack of sabre engines?
    >you will never see concept successor A10's descend from orbit to do CAS then return to space

    Rotating detonation engines
    >Proposed by Russian Physicist Ya B Zeldovich
Why do Russians like to make up history? Pic related where he just takes an idea from someone else doing the actual work. Technically he did, but he didn't

Also nearly all the theoretical development was through the UK and then later US private rocket sector.

    >First test of an experimental rocket engine
Why do the Russian keep lying through omission, while technically implying it's the first ever when really it just the first of that engine prototype.
    >Aerojet Rocketdyne
    >Since 2010, Aerojet Rocketdyne has conducted over 520 tests of multiple configurations.
USN's also bee testing them since 2012

    Why do Russians lie.

    >Rotation detonation
    >Doing it the "easy way" instead of the more efficient and powerful way the US is doing it, without the central separator and instead relying on the injectors actually being good enough to keep up and creating a wavefront around the edge of the expansion chamber instead
The problem with this USSR model is need to keep that central and external layer cool due to the sheer huge amount of surface area in contact with the explosion (Which will thus limit the temperature of the exhaust and thus the thrust), and the lack of thrust due to the way the nozzle just decides to waste all that exhaust space

Not impressed Russia, you're far behind.

god damn now I have flashbacks of being forced to go to school every saturday for 12 weeks because probation officers are c**ts

being one of the "bad boys" rofl did get my laid with the hot 26yr old english teacher tho

Once again russian technological prowess has been proven. Naturally ourselves in the USA cannot keep up with such things.

Those injectors are directly taking 100m/s, 20kHz shockwaves. Inspirational but not practical.

Old hat. Continuous wave is the new hotness.
