What is the most overhyped weapon of Ukrainian war?

For me it is Kinzhal
Advertised as the first working hypersonic missile on the world.
Meanwhile it has enormous heat signature and it's flying in a very predictable path.
its seems to be easier to intercept than regular ballistic missile.
Ukrainian AD basically shoot them down with 10/10 rate. Even Iskanders , S-300 missiles or old soviet crap like Kh-22 are much more harder to intercept.

being hypersonic missile doesn't mean it's invincible
even true hypersonic missiles can be shot down when approaching target

Kinzhals would work well if those moron didn't shoot them at a Patriot battery

    >we shot down all the kinzhals

I doubt this given that Ukraine struggles to shoot down iskanders and a kinzhal is pretty much just an iskander but deployed from the air

      >Ukraine struggles to shoot down iskanders and a kinzhal is pretty much just an iskander but deployed from the air
Iskanders have the added benefit of reaching 50km apogee when they arc. Kinzhal is literally just a cruise missile that goes very fast so them going hypersonic through the atmosphere makes their signature MASSIVE.

How much proof is there for kinzhal getting got by patriots etc?
There was news coverage when it happened but then it's become commonplace (?) and nobody bothers to provide details.

I love that you can specify that it's not the flying shitcan with wobbleguns and that still doesn't specify which shitcan you're talking about.

I think he means the tracked shitcan with two wobbly guns, but that also might not be specific enough.

Nope, off the top of my head there's the Terminator and there's the frankentank with the naval double AA mount, and I'm sure there are more.

Of all branches in Russian AF, which one was the biggest disappointment?
VDV: mythos didn't last a week, suffered huge losses, though they had some early success in Hostomel. Wonder what they are up to these days
Russian Navy: somehow found a way to have their fair share of humiliations in a land war. Lost its flagship, several warships and now is confined to Crimea
VKS: honestly, their performance is the biggest let-down to me. Unable to destroy the UAF and achieve air superiority, unable to operate deep behind the lines, is now risk-averse after great losses. We're talking about what was supposed to be the 2nd most powerful AF in the world
Ground Forces: again, they had their fair share, not sure how to assess their overall performance compared to the other branches.

Definitely russian IADS. Vatniks touted their integration of air defense layers as the pinnacle of anti air and impenetrable to everything from cruise missiles to 5th generation fighters.
Then the war happened and Western cruise missiles and HIMARS rockets leisurely fly directly above it while the vatnik operators seethe with impotent butthurt.

only if you actually believed the media predictions. the people that label anything with wood ak and anything black a assault rifle suddenly make good tank judgements?

na. the general opinion was its a shot first to win scenario with the western tank having better system but no crew ejection system.

I'm surprised the Russian missiles are so bad, i would have expected better performance. The BMs. the mid-range, even just the grads seem to not worth that much.

and that the AD is so bad. i believed the myth that Russia has a AD heavy strategy at its core so it must work well either by tech or saturation.

kinda similar with the dronesx i thought russia has some pseudo predator or TB-2 in the vadka skunkovic works same with mid/small drones and all we get is iranian sneeds and lancelet ?

true, but still a better option that losing a plane a day during the last Russian offensive.

but the TB-2 where actually pretty nice in the first days. wonder why the AA was so bad at the start.

Now I’m just a layman but I feel that vid isn’t a accurate portrayal of a nuclear weapon, I don’t think the warheads in a MIRV are rocket propelled and I don’t think there’s any system that has that many warheads in it (seven or eight seem to be the usual number).
The vid kinda seems like the sort of thing that’s supposed to show up in normies feeds to spook ‘em.

I'd agree with this. I wouldn't go as far as saying they're obsolete, since there are a lot of potential improvements to the general turret on tracks concept which will make them a lot more effective but the direct fire only tank duel focused MBT is looking like a gun only dogfighter of ground combat.

Some weapons' stocks went up, some went down. What went down - Rifles and machine guns. Looks like in future war there is going to be 3 assault rifles in plastic bags strewn around a platoon sized fortification with the ATGM reloads "in case of infantry". Airborne and light went down, seems to fail faster and waste the best human resources. Helicopters kind of pointless. Short range artillery gets blown up hard to get the bulk ammo supplied to it.

    FPV drones.
Common image: death on a buzzing skeleton blasting anything and everything nonstop (based on cherrypicked videos)
Reality: misses 90% of the time, always has low batteries, 5 minute flight time, periodically wienerblocked across swathes of the front by primitive jammers.
