The near future is being underwater or becoming hypersonic food.

Surely someone is developing some variety of the sub aircraft carrier today

Nah. It's kinda like the battlecarrier, it might seem a good idea at first glance but then you realize that it's a whole bloody lot of extra expense and compromises to add something to your ship that will be of no use whatsoever whenever your carrier wants to do carrier things.

Then maybe not planes but drones, then? Something like the switchblade but scaled up to fit a VLS

              China is working on this.

That gets us into a maybe I'd say. We're not in any way making a sub carrier here, just giving the missile subs some new ordnance, so far so good. I'm not so sure about directly controlled drones though since the sub probably doesn't want to hang around and broadcast the signal to do so. Maybe if your enemy is polite enough to let you keep your communication satellites...

See something with the AI and sensors of the Loyal Wingman but compressed.

Submersible aircraft carriers are already obsolete. The US has antigrav tech that they got from the ayys which creates a space time bubble around aircraft that allows them to travel through both air and water without resistance. No need for a submersible carrier if your fighters themselves are submersible.

Well, technically, anything since 688-I has carried a small air component in its TLAMs...

Slightly more seriously, I expect to see more UAVs--primarily disposable, but possibly also some optionally-recoverable ones--as the VPM enters service, with its increased flexibility over traditional SSN VLS.

Literally a thing since the 70's and yet this meme hasn't done jack shit to make surface vessels any less useable.

Or aircraft food. Or drone food.
The reason the US stop putting together destroyers was because they're obsolete.

The reason the us stopped putting together destroyers is because there's no major naval threat to convince congress to fund new destroyers.

Fleets of unmanned ships/subs crammed full of hundreds or thousands of missiles. Carriers escorted by unmanned vessels bristling with laser point defense systems with reactors to meet the obscene power draw.

I expect a lot of countries sailing around with mini carriers due to the proliferation of the F-35 vtol version. Japan already has 2 'helicopter carriers' that just so happen to be F-35 compatible with a few quick changes as well a few more under construction.

    Missile Spam>Aircraft Spam>Point Defence Spam
Only question is whether the missile spam will be from subs or ships.

It looks like guided missile battleships are coming, whether we like it or not. Surface combatants keep getting bigger and bigger. The US destroyers have reached the 10,000 ton mark, meanwhile the Japanese are building those 20,000 ton monsters. I think DDGX is going to be even bigger than the Burke IIIs and whenever the CGX shows up it'll be even bigger than that.
Now they won't be called "guided missile battleships" but for all intents and purposes that's what they'll be. They'll be large, fleet based, surface combatants, with the highest survivability and offensive capability of any ships ever seen. Instead of steel armor, they'll have incredibly powerful radars hooked to multitudes of air defenses, making them incredibly resistant against missile spam and drone swarms.
We'll also see an increase in small drone carriers as drones become more capable. Vtol light carriers will continue to gain popularity as well.
Drone subs will become more common as well. Likely becoming important parts of fleet operations. They'll make good littoral defense as well. I don't think they'll be operating alone though. So normal crewed subs will still see service.

Anon frigates will be the norm becasue manpower won't matter as you can heavy automation instead of crew men

Its gonna be big to fit powerplants, weapons, and air defenses. The crew complement is a non issue.

The primary reason to get bigger isn't to carry more missiles, but to carry larger radars for ABM work. A dozen or two of those would be plenty, even for the USN.

Spam of missiles and AA. Probably lots of drone or mostly drone ships.
