Purely hypothetical and within the bounds of local laws, of course

Easy if you have access to a machine shop.
    >open bolt submachine gun
Assuming you're in the US, illegal at the federal level since 1986 if you're a private citizen.

    "gunsmithing" experience is unimportant.
Can you operate machine tools? Can you weld? Can you do basic metalwork?

you'd have to learn how to use calipers and buy lots of raw materials and have alot of machine tools, bare minimum would be stuff like a drill, pin punch and dremels.

also you'd have to have the ability to pick a schematic to stick to, be able to read it and transfer it into completion, which alot of dumb motherfrickers overlook how many steps it is before you have something that even looks like a gun.

Yes, I can do basic metalwork and stick to a schematic. I don't have access to a lathe or anything but I can use common power tools.

Don't worry, if I manufacture a machine gun it would be in Yemen, where it is legal.

I will check my copy of the do/k/ument when I get home for educational schematics. I'm sure there's stuff like the Luty too.

You know you can look at schematics without breaking the law, right? Just like you can play an FPS game without committing a mass shooting afterwards. It can even have educational value, like comparing the M4's burst mechanism to another design that resets properly.

It's not illegal to possess firearms schematics in the United States.

Depends if you have the tools. You need angle grinder, drill press, welder, Dremel, tap and die set, and assortment of hacksaws and files, and at least some familiarity with the use of all those tools. If you have that, it's totally feasible.

not to go all dunning krueger, but it's probably the easiest self-loading firearm to make. you could theoretically even forego a trigger system, just pull back the bolt and let er rip til the mag is empty
just gotta tinker a bit to figure out the right parameter of bolt weight, bolt travel, spring length and tension etc.
otherwise the brazilian favela monkeymen could never manage.
