extra fine steel wool and oil. Press it against the muzzle with your thumb, rotate in a twisting motion.

its rust you moron, ballistol won't do shit to it. You need an abrasive (steel wool is a very mild and safe one).

3in1 oil has something to help release the rust with the fine steel wool.

I'm known to have taken a brass wire wheel to my beaters a few times. Even tossing it in the oven to cook the shit off; If it's good enough for the cast iron, it's good enough for the beater.

Whether or not actually good for the firearm, no idea. I am a certified grade-A moron.

the best way is to never clean it, you're supposed to clean from the chamber side. by pulling boresnakes or patches through

      Anonymous

Pulling boreasnakes can erode the muzzle badly if you do it wrong. You have to pull it through absolutely straight so the string doesn't apply force against the muzzle and grind it with contaminants from inside the bore.

        Anonymous

I got told this, I think its bullshit. No string is eroding steel even if its got some copper residue on it

It's the same shit everyone repeats and no one has any evidence for. At the speed and pressure you pull a boresnake though a barrel you aren't eroding gun steel, the gas ejecting from the barrel also contains all those particles and is being ejected with much more force.

Proving that a bore snake causes damage would a very long process I don't think anyone has bothered because serious shooters don't use them. They aren't very good at cleaning and it's undeniable that you're pulling the same shit through your bore and over and unless you regularly clean the thing that cleans your barrel. The proper way to clean a barrel is with a good bore guide and one piece non-marring cleaning rod as evidenced by all the top accurate shooters using them.

Okay genius, how exactly do you clean your barrel with perfect even pressure applied to all sides? How exactly do you maintain 100% coverage without over-cleaning one side? (and thus, apparently, affecting accuracy)

I am assuming you have an army of micro robots that make the same number of cleaning passes in every rifle groove, cause otherwise, your accuracy would be diminished just like your claim with a bore snake?

              t. dumbass who has no idea how bad his hearing is compared to normies.

Since all of you people are moronic as frick, there's a muscle located in your head called the tensor tympani, a small but not insignificant portion of the population can control this muscle and basically seal off the ear canal (not entirely but it limits the amount let into the ear). There are some people who do it unknowingly as a response to gunfire or whatever and others who do it completely on purpose.
It's pretty well known among swimmers and such as it restricts water from entering your ears and other weird niche groups.

Outer surface just roll the barrel on your thighs and hold a p400 emery cloth to it. It's fine as long as you don't touch the crown or any part of the bore with the emery. If there's rust in the bore you can't do anything to fix it. Just shoot it and if the accuracy is fricked get a new barrel.
