NATO is already in full engagement, you cuck. There are several reasons they won’t go further:

        1. The equipment they are holding back (tanks, f35 etc.) sucks ass. The husks of maintenance intensive, prone to breaking rocket magnets would be a terrible advertisement campaign for NATO, hence their refusal to send their “modern” equipment that just runs in very controlled environments. See turkey with their Leo’s. Clapped by Milan, fagot and tow.

Same goes for F35 or other modern fighter jets. Most of them won’t leave an airfield due to rain or wind, needing so much maintenance and sore parts, even western nations operating these have use half of their fleet as spare part kits.

        2. NATO wouldn’t want their own men to die in droves. Antiwar sentiment is already high in NATO countries, now imagine Germans, French and Italians dying by the hundreds in Ukraine. Lmaoing my ass off, this war would be over faster than they could spell retreat.

        3. The Russians have learned to live with superior nato intelligence. They have decided to just make up for it by loss of human life. They don’t care. Ultimately every war is about making someone unwilling to sacrifice life further through the use of life ending technology. Russia has shown that it doesn’t care. It will send troops at you by the millions no matter what you throw at them. NATO can’t compete.

TL;DR The Ukraine war is as far as NATO is willing to go. They would lose a direct confrontation politically and on the ballot box, their equipment would be demystified as the trash it is. Most doesn’t even work in peace time (NH90, Puma, Tiger, Leo 2, Challenger, Brandburg class frigates, Dolphin class suns) and they don’t have the men willing to die for globohomo.

If NATO actually engaged in Ukraine it would be over pretty much instantly. Chieftain was right, if you sent the 3rd Armored Corps in alone they'd have Russia cleared out of eastern Ukraine in a couple weeks, maybe a month tops.

Okay then. Tell us how many blue boxes there actually are relatively speaking versus how many red boxes there are on that map.

You won't because it would still look incredibly silly. One side has the defensive advantage and clearly superior NATO equipment and billions of dollars of support, while the other side are all untrained convict-recruits and equipped with toy guns and Mosins and are always two weeks from running out of ammo.

Yet here we are with the battle lines drawn in this manner instead of the blue boxes completely destroying the red boxes. Why is that?

There isn't any reason to assume the US military has massively degraded in the last five years, no. You can believe that if you want to but there's no actual evidence for it beyond people whining about a they/them army. And I am not saying Russia is running out of missiles or shells, I'm saying they are less capable than they were at the start of the war because they've lost thousands of armored vehicles, thousands of officers, tens of thousands of troops, etc., and it shows. They haven't even attempted serious maneuver warfare since the opening weeks of the war and are less prepared for a confrontation with NATO than at any point since the fall of the Soviet Union.

                >beyond people whining about a they/them army
But that's an incredibly important reason. It's not even the only reason. Remember that ship (destroyer I think?) last time where when the inspecting officers went onto the bridge the found that the staff there didn't even know how to operate the consoles they were assigned to? You think that's just an isolated case?

Here's the bottom line: I don't really care about how much the US military crows about the capabilities of its equipment and what the MIC's latest marketing brochure says those things can do. I *don't* care, many people are starting to not care either. The only thing that can move opinions is to see them in real action and prove us wrong.

I hate to break it to you, but even Puma and NH90 have higher readiness levels than anything in the russian arsenal. Even if you don’t consider that the krauts deem vehicles not combat ready when a tail light needs a new bulb.

                [...]
What is your point? That trannies can’t drop JDAMs? The russian army was not able to defeat a military 20% of their size with 10% of their budget while they had the element of surprise and huge material advantage. They could for the most part not even take objectives 30-50 km from the LOD while enjoying aerial superiority.
How on earth are they supposed to fight an enemy with a functional airforce that also enjoys material superiority in quality and quantity in all fields? Apart from the substantial number of barely trained and equipped conscripts Russia literally has nothing to bring to the table. But unlike Ukraine NATO/the US actually has the means to turn them into pink mist by dropping real bombs on them, not just VOGs from cheap chinese quadcopters.

So join the battle. Don't give me the stupid bullshit reason of muh nuclear war. The amount of billions being dumped into Ukraine and the amount of economic damage the EU is willing to endure in order to sanction Russia is greater than the amount of money Russia puts into its military. At this point it is already WW3, no ifs or buts about it. So go in and fight for real.

And they have, multiple times, and you disregard that evidence by saying "well NOW they're bad". If the US launched an intervention today they would annihilate the Russians effortlessly and in a few years you'd be back to saying they're shit because they're not annihilating the Russians right this second. Nothing will even stop you from asserting they're bad with zero evidence to back it up.

They do not even have superior NATO equipment *right now* outside of small arms. Most of the vehicles the West has sent have been MRAPs, HMMWVs, etc. that are actually worse than Russian BMPs and BTRs. Ukraine is rocking their can with unarmored vehicles, small arms and 24 HIMARS.

But we already have. And the fun part is that we don’t have to send a single man to crush Russia. We get it done for us at roughly ~$2bln a week plus some change. We also get to blame all inflationary pressure on our currency on the war, which is a nice side effect. Even if we assume all economic damage not being the regular contraction after a decade of boom, it’s really cheap. Like less than $10bln a week cheap. That is still substantially cheaper than engaging in all out conventional war. Also this way, we don’t just get to the active russian army but also their stockpile of legacy equipment they could in part use to rearm. Because the idiots are dumb enough to eat through so much stuff that they need to pull T-62s from storage because they can’t replace T-72s with the same hill at the current attrition rate. It’s hilarious.
Russia is also taking the eternal shithead of the world trophy after a lengthy display in Berlin and building it an even bigger shrine in Moscow. The country will not recover militarily or diplomatically from what was the most retarded idea of the 21st century.

No, the AFU can't defeat (i.e., is not currently steamrolling) Russia, because they're a shitty ex-Soviet army making the first baby steps towards modernization. If you want to look at what the US/NATO does to these kind of shitters look at the Gulf War. It would be hard to even call a NATO intervention a war, it would just be Russians being slaughtered en masse by an overwhelmingly superior opponent with no way to fight back against.

Or the Puma entering an active kill zone. Both break down under normal, non military use. Only delusional idiots believe Nato would do anything but be buttblasted copemorons. They would try to throw their long range missile and would be out of ammo in a day, given the current firing schedule in Ukraine. Russia would weather this like they did everything else. They don’t care about the human cost. NATO on the other hand couldn’t lose 200 men a day for a week, try selling that to westernized population.

Or we could look at actual history and see that the US just rolls over inferior powers like the Russians like they don't exist. Russia right now is probably in worse shape than the Iraqis during the Gulf War, as the latter were at least able to take over Kuwait, whereas Russia hasn't demonstrated any capacity whatsoever and has been worn to the bone by a year of fighting. They would crumble instantly if faced with an actual opponent.

It's specifically not delusional because it relies on looking at the extensive history of the US going up against third-rate powers like Russia and instantly steamrolling them. The only way to conjure a scenario where Russia can even put up a fight rather than being absolutely slaughtered instantly is by resorting to delusion, fantasy and wishful thinking. They cannot even beat Ukraine, a country with a military just as shitty as their except smaller, and would have no chance against a real power.
