Its popularity exploded. Same with Trophy.

It's been working as intended. Why?

In the past year or two it's been integrated on
    >US Bradley A4
    >Dutch CV90 MLU
    >Australia's new Boxer and Redback IFVs
    I'd say it's doing alright

don't Australia's Boxers use Strikeshield APS?

No, that's what Rheinmetall wanted to sell them and it was on the trials vehicle you posted there, but was never ordered with the Block 1 CRVs.
Now the Aussies want IFLD on their Block 2 vehicles

is Strikeshield shit? seems kinda bulky compared to what the israelites have to offer

Hungary bought it at least, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was bribery involved considering how much Rheinmetall stuff they're ordering

          It's on challenger 3 too

I think Iron fist was only on the Black Eagle proposal
the Chally 3 design by RBSL is planned to integrate Trophy afaik

Strikeshield is good, as it works as armour and APS, but for now, there is no modules placed to defend against top-attack.

Nobody has Strikeshield yet, except maybe Hungary.

              >good
              >no top attack protection
              >no protection against KE rounds
              >literally worse than russian APS
              >still blatantly try to sell it for obscene prices
Krauts will unironically try to defend this.

Strikeshield has a much better EW signature than Trophy/Iron Fist. Its modules can be aimed to the sides by multipoint ignition to cover each other after one is fired.

I believe Trophy is on, or soon to be on:
          Merkava
          Namer
          Abrams
          Leopard

in hebrew the names of these systems tend to be different
for example iron fist is porcupine arrow in hebrew and the iron beam is called light shield in hebrew

Honestly, the Iron Fist seems a bit meh. The basic idea of launchers that can track and point is great, but giving it two shots and needing to externally reload seems questionable. Why not make it repeating if it's already basically a turret?

considering its competition is the trophy that has a single reload from a very complex loader
      which isn't instant
      it is definitely an improvement

That's fair, actually. Trophy also being fixed in bearing is just making me shake my head in disbelief.

          it works
it's just very complex, but it's to be expected from a first attempt

Now imagine the payday when all the countries that rushed to "standardise" on trophy (it IS reliable, I'll grant you) rush to upgrade their vehicles with reliable multi-shot/repeating systems.

          also it's not a bearing
the swing top(the thing the warhead sits on) is much more complex to achieve very high acceleration and accuracy at multiple axis
unfortunately i can't share pics or figures because they're classified

the two shot system seems to be enough for now
you're not alone in the battlefield so even if you get to the point your charges are depleted you just back off and reload

the niche of the iron fist is being lighter over trophy

How many decades until vatniks will finally field test their own system?
They claim how amazing it is, but apparently it's too shitty to mount into T-90M.
