>pepperbox >After graduating in March 1866, Cohen-Blind went on a hike through Bavaria and Bohemia. The growing likelihood of war between Prussia and Austria led him to the decision to attempt to kill Bismarck, whom he saw as the originator of the threat of civil war. He left Carlsbad, arriving in Berlin and checking into the Hotel Royal Unter den Linden hotel on May 5. >On the afternoon of May 7, he lay in wait for Bismarck, revolver in hand, in the Unter den Linden, a boulevard in central Berlin. The Chancellor had just reported to King Wilhelm and was now walking home. When Bismarck was close to the Russian Embassy, Cohen-Blind took aim and fired twice from behind; Bismarck spun around and grabbed his attacker, who was able to fire three more shots before soldiers from the 1st Battalion of the 2nd Guards rushed up and took him into custody. Bismarck continued on his way home. Later that night, he allowed the King's physician, Gustav von Lauer, to examine him. Lauer noted that the first three bullets had only grazed Bismarck's body and the last two had ricocheted off the ribs and had caused no major injuries. >Cohen-Blind's weapon, a 6-shot Lefaucheux Pepperbox-Revolver, is on display in the Bismarck-Museum in Friedrichsruh.[1][2]
Nice meme
They all went back to jail for violating parole.
I keep telling you idiots, even if the little girl approaches you first you still can't talk to her...
Is it ok to shoot paper cartridges without lube ? I watched a video where some guy got 80 shots out his 44 army before it jammed but I don't remember if he used any lube.
Would an all out chain fire destroy the gun? Can't imagine it would when even Bismarck's ribs make revolver bullets fired out of the cylinder bounce off.
Destroy? Most likely no, but noone wants to be peppered by lead fragments or have an empty chamber when you expect it to be loaded
Wouldn't a proper sized projectile be enough to stop chain fires I thought lube was only used for softening the fouling?
Bullets are never 100% regular and it already happened to me to have a couple undersized bullets per box of 50. Generally speaking you'll notice it too late, esp when they're in paper cartridges
On a side note, some people managed to still have chain fires with the right size of bullets on youtube, maybe paul harrell managed to have this happen on video but im not sure. Its probably rare but still. Putting a small wad, whatever it is, is a small effort compared to the peace of mind it provides.
The worst thing that could happen would probably the 6 o'clock going off and hitting the frame, warping the whole gun out of spec in the process. To avoid this problem I carry six single shot percussion derringers instead.
You can keep checking bass pro site they have it sometimes. If you see they have it place order online and go to the store to pick it up because they usually don't have them at the store.
Cabelas. Alternatively I’ve been cutting .22LR shells down and using the lead for more round ball. You can pinch the .22 shells on and they work good.
They dont ship and id have to drive 150+ miles to get to one. if there is a different place i can order without having to pay $200 plus hazmat im all ears

Yeah if you have some sort of wad
Chain fires can happen from the bullet side, better be safe than sorry
Would an all out chain fire destroy the gun? Can't imagine it would when even Bismarck's ribs make revolver bullets fired out of the cylinder bounce off.

Based. Wonder if you can use a wad over the bullet if you put a few grains less powder so there's a space dip enough just for a wad.

where can i find percussion caps, all my lgs dont have them stocked ever.
