      Not enough.
Romania, like Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, never cleaned house. They're lousy with ex-communists, have had ex-communists in government non-stop, and their services are unreliable.

The military and industry are good though.

Bro what? Romania is the only European Warsaw pact country to violently overthrow and execute their leader during the collapse

Please stop with the vampires = Romanian. Vampires originated in ancient Sumaria but mostly stayed in the middle east. We didn't move to Europe until much later and started off in what is modern day Croatia

To NATO not that much, but to the Russian Ukrainian war, A LOT.

The amount of freight going towards Ukraine by rail is staggering.

Before the war I'd see about 2-4 trains a year. Now there's 4+ per day.

Were in the past I'd be happy to see a locomotive pulling 10 railcars, now there's dozen of heavily loaded freight cars pulled by 2 locomotives.

They have a front page promotional video, a catalog on their website, complete with lists of what is currently in stock like some mail order civilian arms distributor. I doubth much is left in stock today tho ever since the war started

Yeah there's a bunch of soviet equipment """revitalized""" with western equipment, in particular the MLI-84, which is basically a israeliteed up BMP-1 with an Oerlikon slapped ontop.
TR-85-M is as interesting as it is depressing, considering it's just a T-55, but there's worth in digging up a little history on previous tank projects as well, such as TR-125 and TR-2000 (the latter which would be the bastard child of all bastard children of T-55 and Leo2A5).
Still, the one thing that isn't quite depressing regarding the Romanian armed forces would be the Air Force, as they are the only one not composed entirely of fossils and cope. Hopefully Poland will take notice of the premium business opportunities of Eastern Europe as a whole.

        >Air Force, as they are the only one not composed entirely of fossils and cope
MiG 21s are cursed, one just fell by itself mid-training last year, we are buying second-hand F16s to cope. The TR-85 is a frankenstein mix of Leo1 and T-55 parts, the IFV's and mobile artillery pieces are great and I don't the criticism.
The USSR refused to export 70's tech to us because Ceausescu was getting friendly with everyone on the planet, he supported the Chinese in the Sino-Soviet split so we never got the upgrades everyone else got. Lots of military industry shifted to domestic, the output was insane for such a poor country.

          Anonymous

I still like to blame Israel for baiting us into upgrading the Mig-21s into Lancers, there has to have been a better solution at the time, but oh well, it is what it is.
At least the 2nd batch of F-16s are from Norway, who took great care of them, for what that's worth, and """supposedly""" by the next decade we want to purchase F-35s too.
More importantly we should focus on the fact that we still have two 40 year old Frigates as our best ships, that is somewhat concerning if you ask me.

            Anonymous

I don't believe our navy ever had any relevance, we should ditch the submarine (I think there's plans for a switch with a french or italian one) because it's a huge money drain. Our navy could turn fully into a support one with light gunboats, and we would just help out the turkish with their actual NATO navy in the Black Sea. The river navy is more important, as we must police the Danube.
Airforce and army are our strengths, we should focus on that, more AA and even coastal defense is a priority, we will get F-35 after the pig flies of course lmao. Abrams would be my next priority if I had a say in anything, Abrams and converting factories into manufacturing parts for those.

The majority of new AK's in the US for the past 2 decades were made in Cugir Arms Factory, Romania.

        Anonymous

They also make some of the best ak's you can get here in the states. Hell, they may even be better than the Russian ones but you know how people are.

        Anonymous

Really? I allways belived that AKs etc in the US had to be manufactured there and couldnt just be imported dur to some bullshit law, but Im a eurogay so I really dont know.

          Anonymous

It's partially true. Complete firearms from Russia can't be imported, but firearm parts kits can be. There is also a certain number/percentage of parts of the firearm that must be manufactured in the US to be sold legally here, so any companies selling imports or kits are going to be making some.number of parts themselves. No one else follows this law, though, and it should be noted that there are zero (0) convictions on the books in it's name
