It's not as hard as these anons homosexuals make it out, the reason they are hopeless about it is nothing to do with motivation or skill etc even an /in/cel could do it. It's having land / money that's it. That's literally it.

    Water
    Shelter
    Food
Just focus on learning those 3 things and you can survive anywhere

WATER, without it you'll die a desiccated corpse,
getting it from your surroundings may be the easiest thing/hardest thing depending on where you are
Desert(you are fricked, you WILL kill off the entire ecosystem in a region when you use up that small oasis you find/dig up)(you CAN, in some of them, collect large amounts of water from a plastic sheet and a shallow hole with smooth stones in the early morning, late evening) extracting it from plants will most likely cause you to trip balls and die with your pants somehow turned into a dancing partner,
middle of a prairie? you'll travel 50-500 miles for water if you can't find a decent stream/creak/river
forest? might luck out with tapping a tree, collecting rain water, secluded lake

BUT you'll most likely die from not having the most precious thing next to water and breathable air.......

      SALT, yes, SALT.
Look up what happens to you without enough salt, after you sweat your balls off in the wild(a joke in most countries)

        This.
This is somethis that ppl don't realky take into consideration when going in the woods. This are my tips:
Watch out for small animals that can bite your legs or even groin.
Hogs will tore your belly open if you let them too close
Always watch out for a grizzly s left hook.
Lear how to escape when pinned diwn by moma bear or worse dady bear in mating season.

          Anonymous

peace is overrated. if you do things that actually make sense to you you are at peace all the time. fake situations cause the need for peace but true tranquility is doing things that feel so right that you don't tire

Not going to happen. Humans have always lived in communities for this reason.

The best place to start is to just go outside, start with some small local park go with some basic stuff you think might work and then see what you actually needed versus what you didn't and adjust. Repeat until you're comfortable there and then go somewhere bigger and do the same thing and just keep going

99.9% of PrepHole can’t do what you’re asking. Watch the tv show alone. You’ll see what it’s like. It’s just a starving competition because survival by yourself is really fricking hard. Humans are social animals and survive by working together, so that’s the answer. Bring friends and take care of each other, work together. If you go it alone, you’ll most likely die.

      >Watch the tv show alone.
There's like 100 episodes, honestly that's too much work. Just give me the tl;dr so I can leave civilization behind. I know it won't be easy but I think I can do it, I already go for long periods of time without human contact.

heres the most important info you need to know. you don't have to leave civilization behind. get a gun and gear. civilization isn't going anywhere anytime soon. you can just return to get supplies whenever you need while also practicing survival skills for the years it will take to be competent. if you don't think living outdoors is just being a smelly hobo, you've deluded yourself.

  21. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

pro-tip: you can't. even those weirdo forest and sticks hermits get human contact every once in a while. someone to check up on them and bring them books or whatnot. homesteaders like shawn james(my self reliance) have a literal home base to return to in case things get really bad. natives never left their tribes for too long, and they were typically with someone.

  22. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

You can't. Humans evolved technologically and socially to use tools and live in groups. Even with all the tools, there is still too much work to survive by yourself. You will have to trade or work with others to make up the difference.

You can gather, hunt, and grow everything you need during the warm months to survive winter, sure. How many years in a row can you do this without a break by yourself? Can you do it without getting hurt one way or another? If you get hurt you can't work and you die.

How will you learn to do everything you need to survive without the internet and TV? These skills aren't passed down anymore and they're very niche. Even something as simple as starting a fire with sticks and stones is a learned skill. Pottery, building, irrigation, hunting techniques, weather prediction, the list goes on and on. All of this you'd need to learn on your own. Not knowing one of these and a hundred other things will kill you if you do not have other people to support you.

start with hybrid calisthenics at home, come back when you got that down
in the interim try and learn as much as possible about tree iD and uses for whatever area you have in mind

It takes entire tribe of villages. You can only survive on you own few years without human contacts. With a family as long as the kids hit the puberty and want to look for mates. Also any injury or sickness requires other people to help you out. In the long run one village isn't enough for gene pool. So it takes few villages to survive off the land for decades

Start with camping - learn to set up a tent, start a fire, cook something simple over one weekend. Then move up to a week - that will bring in new challenges. Then learn foraging, fishing, hunting, trapping, building shelters. Then do all these, but in the winter, which is a whole different issue entirely. As you do these things you'll learn more and more and understand what you are capable of and if you keep at it, in a couple of years you will know exactly when you're actually capable of actually surviving long term. It's possible, but the road is long and you have to really commit, otherwise you either quit or become another missing hiker who thought he can cut it in the forest with a tarp and a swiss army knife.

Then, after doing just a few of these things, realize what real problems are. Realize how cushy your life is. Realize that being afraid of talking to women or getting a job or whatever it is you're running from isn't near as hard as what you thought "the easy life" was.

Surviving in the wilderness "indefinitely" is called homesteading anon. Requires farming skill, animal husbandry, carpentry, bit of engineering know-how and a wide skillbase of things we just don't really do in the modern era anymore.
Self sufficiency is what people a couple hundred years ago did when they packed up everything they had into a couple of Conestogas and plopped somewhere where the dirt was black and the rain was regular and built a home.
Having a community though is ultimately the end goal.
