100 dollars is just about the cutoff point for knives, less is shit, more is a waste of money because it will just get lost and quality doesn't really improve substantially past this point
>too active
So you lose your keys, wallet, and everything in your pockets all the time? >”b..but I take my knife out of my pockets because i use my knife a lot!”
Do you not take your keys or wallet out to use as well on a daily basis? Did they also disappear into air the moment you took them out of your pockets?
>So you lose your keys, wallet, and everything in your pockets all the time?
no, because the car wont start without keys
i only pull the keys out when i need to use the car
one time i was walking past a fence about 10 miles out in the desert and the fence caught my knife and pulled it out by the pocket clip and i didn't even know it
i came back years later and i saw my knife sitting, floating mid air on this chicken wire fence
i lost that griptilian in similar wacky ways 3 times before it never got found again
maybe it'll turn up again who knows
>because it will just get lost
Or just stop being a dumb retard with your possessions? Do you lose your car on a daily basis? No? Why? Because you’re not stupid with your car? Do that, but with your knife.
There, problem solved.
I use a cheapo knife too. But when I was chopping some wood and my friend pulled out his Extrema Ration Kukri, I was just mogged beyond belief. Its a shit knife probably, has 0 utility and every rusty $5 machete from africa would make for a better weapon, but holy shit. It was just beautiful.
ER has some of the most beautiful designs out there. Their handles are great and their grinds are well made, but N690 is just noticeably more brittle than basic carbon steels. $ 30 Cold Steel Kukri Plus with a decent convex bevel makes for one of the most amazing machetes out there.
When you bring your trophy wife to a party you dont want to show people that you have a slampig at home that can cook, do the laundry and raise the kids. You are bringing her to show them that you can afford to have a completely useless Bimbo at home.
A knife is a sharp piece of metal. That's its basic job. If it's made of high-quality steel, it's a good knife at its base level. Two knives made of the same metal with the same blade will do the same job regardless of branding or fancy marketing.
The finer point is build quality. If you have two knives with nearly identical designs, but one with tighter tolerances and better construction, that one's going to last a lot longer. That being said, a $1000 artesian knife may lose its handle in a month of use and a $20 knife you picked up from a gas station could last your entire life. Expensive=/=better
> Keep an edge > Have a non retarded sheath that doesn't dull the blade bc glass fibers > Have decent geometry that is acutally suitable for cutting > Be resistant to rust > Have handle that doesn't become sticky after two years > Cost $ 150 more > Look nicer > More robust with full tang construction
The SRK is still great for it's price, just like Moras are. If you ever get to handle an actually well made high-price knife like Work Tuff Gear or TRC you will notice a difference in pretty much every regard. Many high priced knives have severe design flaws though.
Fuck bitches and get money
