Despite what /brg/ might tell you those G3s are probably still 3 MOA guns and the extra range granted by .308 is wasted with that level of accuracy

You can get German G3 clones with sub 1 MOA easily, sub 0.5 for the accurized version.
Why would accurized swedish originals have 3 MOA you brainless subhuman?

These G3s were accurate when they were new, circa 60 years ago. After the breakup of the Soviet Union Sweden donated tons of small arms, antitank weaponry, anti aircraft weaponry, even military bikes to the three baltic states. They got all our mothballed never used guns that were meant to be picked up by conscripts. The guns we kept were those that were in use for training. So the balts got our never-used, never worn down shit, and we kept the guns that were already worn. That was almost 30 years ago.

They went through a couple of programs to improve them. These aren't unaltered conscript G3s

Far too heavy for regular infantry. Somewhat antiquated caliber choice for marksmen, still way too heavy.
For an automatic rifleman pressed into a marksmans role? Yes.

A few kinds of neiche forces fall into that role, guards of remote possitions who could come under attack by both snipers and technics, comandoes who's mission was technically very mixed, marine units with light transport, or auxilaries liable to engage other auxilaries.

Scandinavians have strong builds, some extra pounds for them is nothing,

Looks cool but as someone who did a "clone" of an AK4 with the Spuhr everything I can say with certainty that I would never want to carry one of those things into the field, combat, or anywhere for that matter. It's a fricking tank to shoot when fully kitted with DBAL and light, it isn't accurate, it's fun, has pretty minimal recoil due to the weight even with the "stout" nature of the roller delay system. Sweden should have invested all that money put into upgrading these things (I think my set was barely more than what Swedens military pays for them, not including optic and DBAL which I already had) into building more AK5s or buying anything else.

The Spuhr BAM mount I got for mine certainly does not help in the weight department. That shit weighs more than a LPVO, ELCAN, ACOG, etc.

The spuhr mounts are a questionable purchase. Sure, mechanically the scope will be very resistant to movement if in a heavy mount, but how much movement does a lighter mount really have?

The armed forces of Sweden needs new 5.56 and 7.62 weapons - estimated cost 30 million dollars. New guns have been constantly postponed for over a decade. There are only enough 5.56 guns to arm half of the soldiers, if every vacancy was staffed. The internationalist globohomosexual government spent 3 000 million dollars on sending Swedish forces overseas as US occupation assistants in Afghanistan. Any swede who is dumb enough to partake in this farce deserves to get shit on.

All these upgrades and still no dust cover. Looks like quite the hefty pig to lug around, though in my experience with G3s I bet that thing has nonexistent recoil. I wouldn't want to be issued one but I wouldn't mind owning one. My question is, why a magnified aimpoint instead of some flavor of ACOG or LPVO to make the most of 308s range advantage over 5.56? Yeah I know G3s aren't super precise rifles but it seems wasteful to limit it with a red dot

yeah, lpvo is the way to go, even if i sometimes throw an Eotech on mine.

Purely domestic production. Maybe they don't have an issue with 4 exposed lenses.

I thought so, no doubt Aimpoint gets dibs on most if not all optic contracts in Sweden

Idk, I suppose fine for thier domestic production, but that stuff is meh in the US unless you are clooning.
    >the PTR M4 stock adapter, ctr stock with riser is a better buy

This part mystifies me. Why cut them off if they are not in the way?
