To be fair, XM193 is NOT M193, hence the X. It's just cheap ammo which is generally similar to M193 but downloaded slightly so they can't label it M193. Other companies download some of their cheap "M193" too you just have to chrono it

you don't need a 20" barrel to shoot M193 effectively, that's dumb fuddlore. M193 still travels at 3000fps out of a 14.5" barrel, which gives you plenty of range for 99.9% of civilian use cases before the velocity drops below the 2700fps reliable fragmentation threshold.

WWB is shit in general, it's the only thing that my 870 doesn't agree with and it's what I use to make a point to people who think a revolver can't jam because any given box will reliably have cartridges so far out of spec that they'll cause issues. I have a bunch of WWB 9mm that my wonder 9s chew through just fine but once I'm through that I'm never shooting WWB again.

Winchester white box m193 is literally m193, Winchester holds the current contract to run Lake City production.
If you find old federal m193/xm193 labeled boxes then that will be fine too since Federal was the prior company that held the contract for Lake City.

My tarddum meter is off the charts! Time for another TLPSA: the M193 designation has to do with a lot more than velocity. The bullet has a thinner jacket, it has a conure, and it is sealed. The thin jacket, conure, and velocity are what cause its wounding characteristics. It also helps to have a 1/12 twist. Barrel length only determines your fragmentation window. To answer your dumb ass question op, LC M193. Typically, Winchester or Federal.

    >b-b-b-ut it says X! EEEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXahhh!

There was some confusion about the X designation among boomers and fudds due to them buying factory seconds before the Clinton era ban. Lake City (a US gubbmit plant) used to be able to sell "non duty use" ammo to civilians. Slick Willie put a stop to that by EO. So now us dirty, filthy civvies can't get our hands on genuine 193 and 855. Except we do. The X marked stuff is exactly the same. Maybe a little less paint or something. I've shot 10K + of this ammo over the Trump slump era (PSA 420 rds on strippers and ammo can for $150 delivered). Probably much more. It all went bang.

Wrong. A guy that goes to my church retired from Aberdeen he was over shooting and saw I had some of the older federal xm193 and flipped out. He said it’s the same as getting the dented cans from the discount rack. They do not stamp x on ammo that passes inspection to m193 standard. Something is wrong with it. Gerald Bull never worked at Aberdeen, dumbass. That's like asking what flavor of ice cream Mike Pence has in his freezer to some random who lives in Indiana.

            >muh rejected danger!
Lmao, there's half a hundred reasons for an ammunition lot to be rejected for military service and still be perfectly fine for shooting. 9 times out of 10, the standard deviation for accuracy or velocity is just a little too large.

Mostly though, LAAC on the commercial market is from production overruns on government contracts. It doesn't make sense to keep shutting and starting the production line and supply chain for the irregular tempo of government orders. Things run smoother and cheaper to just keep the plant running and to put the ammo on the market to cover costs.

No it would be more like asking an nfl quarterback if he met the quarterback from another team sometime in his career. This guy from church was pretty. High up civilian engineer he met him for sure.

How many years did you work at Aberdeen anon? I’m listening to him. Also I kept asking him about https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Bull and he was very uncomfortable and would not talk about him at all or even admit if he knew him. The level of autism at Aberdeen must be insane

        >a company would willingly sell dangerous ammo
        >opening themselves up to that kind of lawsuit
        >not a single type of this lawsuit has ever been filed
        >not a single death related to catastrophic failure of XM193 despite being sold for over a decade
        No.

Going from it just has the wrong color box to its shit but won’t blow up your gun when it squibs.
There’s nothing wrong with being poor. I still have a ton of wolf from when I was poor like you. Just stop with the

It’s not a good look to be poor and tell everyone it’s fine.

Retired military from that generation also insist that AKMs were designed to also fire 5.56 so I would immediately take what they said and assume the opposite. Here’s your (you)

He isn’t military. He is a civilian engineer he did mostly artillery but knows way more than the YouTubers paid by Winchester to say “x” is just as good a m193. Tbh he is really big on the whole
          >the government needs to fund this research because private industry only cares about profit

So is winchester good to go or not? I'm too poor to buy another box anytime soon, but I don't want to buy anything else because I want actual m193.

Current Winchester marked as m193 should be ammo that is made at Lake City which is the plant that is owned by the US gov for making small arms ammo and operated by contractors. Winchester is currently the contractor running it.
So current Winchester m193 and m855 are ~equivalent to what is produced for the gov.
