what are your instant buys when you buy a new gun? like same day or next day. mags? ammo? sights? slings? case? I wanna see if there is uniform instabuys. No gun specific buys allowed. (i.e. ambi charging handle from SIG for 716)

>What should I buy to be a cool kid?
A personality.
>slings? /.../ No gun specific buys allowed.
I'm sure the handgun fellas buy a lot of slings.
who hurt you?

fair.
detailed and thorough. thanks
Just get a dog.
Optics and suppressors
If it doesn’t come with a case then I tend to buy a case or bag when I buy a gun….
ammo and the correct size cleaning supplies are really the only universal must-buys I can think of. Otherwise it depends entirely on what the gun is. Precision rifle? Optics & mount for sure, sling, bipod, muzzle device to mount my suppressor. Skeet shotgun? Maybe choke tubes if it didn't come with the sizes I want. .44 Revolver? A belt holster so I can carry it innawoods. A subcompact for CCW? A concealment holster and some spare mags. Another combat shotty for my collection? Whatever tacticool crap I think that model needs. It all depends on the gun and its application.
For a handgun, I always factor in the cost for five quality magazines and a solid kydex holster. Possibly a weapons light depending on intended use.
For rifles, seven magazines and a sling would be the bare minimum to have day one. Some form of iron sights as well if not already included.
Oh, and at least enough ammo to fill all the magazines of whatever gun you buy.
Mags of course.
For milsurp I like to see if I can find a correct along or at least a replica.
*sling
Ammo if I don't have ammo for it or are really low on whatever caliber it is. Maybe not first day. Mags not first day usually; I just take it to the range with one mag before I put more money into a new gun I don't know the QC of or how much I like it. Then I search online for the cheapest non aftermarket mag and buy a handful after coming back from the range. At least that's my logic.
Ammo, spare mags until I've got 5 total, sight-in targets, snapcaps if I don't have one in that caliber yet for various drills.
Later I buy the things to improve it after I've gotten a feel for it: optics, control/comfort upgrades like a larger charging handle for my Benelli M4, muzzle devices, etc.
If its in a new caliber, I'll buy ammo. Typically 200-400rds for starters.
If I only have 1 magazine, I'll get at least 2 extra, or more depending on the cost
If its a pistol, after a week or so I'll get a holster and self defense ammo for it
If I get a rifle: flip sights, red dot or low power optic, two point bungee sling, handstop, shit ton of extra mags and a cheek riser
If a get a shotgun: sling and a weapon light
If I get a handgun: holster and an extra mag
Asking people if they get ammo for a new gun seems redundant
Mags, if detachable. Transport case, Apache from Harbor Freight lately. Ammo, dies if at a show. Sling swivels, carry strap or sling can usually wait for the shows, too. Correct bore brushes or snake. I just randomly pick up various lubes, so plenty on-hand or travel sized. Can't really go wrong with ammo, duh.
Cleaning rod and brushes
Universal kits are so poorly made that the brass or aluminum rod strips its shallow threads or bends only after a few uses.
I've streamlined it. I use the same 3 slings that are set up to connect to QD sockets. I'll throw some cheap QD sockets so it has a sling, and my weapon light when I'm using that gun. That's it. Holsters for a handgun I'm actually going to carry or use for HD. That's pretty much it, mags and ammo are a slow buildup, so long as I have 2-3 to start off with.
>mags
If applicable I generally grab a few right away if, my goal is to have minimum three total if it's a self-loading handgun and five if it's a rifle. This is assuming the mags are common and relatively inexpensive though, I only have one mag for my Remington Model 8 Krieger conversion, for example.
>ammo
If it's something I don't already have stocked, then obviously yes.
>sights
I have a few spare red dots laying around, so not necessarily.
>slings
Depends on if it's a gun I anticipate needing to carry slung. If it's just a plinker, I don't always bother with a sling.
>case
Never. I have enough cases to take what I want to the range, so unless I have to move my entire /k/ollection at once I don't need more, and I couldn't fit all my guns in my car anyway. In my view, you only need enough cases for a range trip. Any more would just collect dust.
Only thing you didn't list that I'd add would be
>dies
I usually grab dies and bullets if it's a caliber I don't already reload for. I have enough primers and powder variety that I can work up a load without needing to buy anything special.
Mags within a couple weeks when I find a deal, I tend not to buy anything immediately
For every single long gun I own, this is the sling I have on it. Anything else is consumerist larp.
>larp consoom larp consoom larp consoom
buzzwords have been a disaster for internet discourse
>couldn't prove me wrong so he attacks my character
M1 chads reign supreme.
mags, sling, light, optic
