What are your guys thoughts on the Indian Joint Venture Protective Carbine (JVPC)?

Hello gun enthusiasts and greetings from India. I was wondering what you guys thought of my home countries very own carbine, the Joint Venture Protective Carbine?

    At least it doesn't keyhole at ten feet like the Chinese carbine. When are you boys gonna liberate Tibet from them?

      Cant keyhole if its constantly jammed

    I think its got some inventive features, like the notch for pressure switches in the handguard and the caliber is promising; but its indian-made so it will be a piece of shit with such wide variances in spec that no two parts will ever be compatible. Pity really, looks cool and could be popular if made by a country with a better QC record.

      >the caliber is promising;
      >but its indian-made
      This, kinda. 5.56 does waste a lot in short barrels. An "everything you need and nothing you don't" version of 5.56 that has similar performance in short barrels but is small enough to fit in a pistol grip magwell is neat. But:
      1) its Indian made, so its going nowhere. No one will buy it, no one will import it, no one will be interested in the rights to make it elsewhere.
      2) Its not actually getting 5.56 performance despite being based on a project that intended to do that. its 46gr at 2150 fps. 8" AR will get heavier loads to that velocity, and they're about as small and handy.

      >5.56×30
      That sounds like it should be really close in performance to 5.7x28. Why go through all that effort of making a different PDW cartridge when one almost identical already exists? Is it just a 5.45x39 vs 5.56x45 thing again or something?

      Perfect for a large nation to adopt!
      > uses ball powder to generate higher pressures & muzzle velocity

      I'm certain the QC and rigorous engineering the pajeets are known for will prevent any shoddy ammo from entering service.

      See above. 5.56MINSAS isn't 5.56MARS, it doesn't use the same bullets as x45, it doesn't get MARS' velocities etc. 5.7 does get similar performance, though most of its loads are a lot lighter.

      It looks AI generated. I don't mean the image is fake. I mean it looks like you asked a computer that had only been trained on pictures of SMGs to design an SMG for you. That optic is extra wtf.

          If it ends up being like literally every other indigenous small arms program in India, they'll produce a couple dozen, decide its too complicated, then give up and buy AKS-74Us from Russia
