We're talking about the in-universe APC, which has variable clearance and adjustable suspension.
Starting to think autism testing and counselling needs to be mandatory in schools so we get less idiots taking everything literally like you "durr airport tug" posters here

It's probably strictly designed for roads to oppress Colonial Liberation Front folks. It's wheels both turn so it's obviously meant for tight urban environments and it's low profile makes it slightly harder to hit. Also works as a barricade cause you can't crawl under it.

Armed Battle Androids would completely beat the the shit out of Xenomorphs as a weapon so hard it isn't even funny, they basically negate the few advantages or specific threats the morphs have towards conventional soldiers.

Wanting to make the aliens into 'living weapons' is so moronic, any threat they could actually defeat would be less of a hassle to deal with than cleaning up the resulting environmental hazard you are left with in the result.

Synthetics aren't particularly durable, as the technical manual points out.

                Anonymous

Humans aren't particularly durable to acid blood and sharp bits of aliens (or gunfire for that matter), also from the knife trick scene we know they have much faster reactions than people do which would be more of a boon along with their lack of panic or impaired judgement.
A milkblood doesn't need to worry about getting facefricked for another.

Combat androids in Aliens media also tend to be shown as much more durable than the 'civilian' model.

Neither is a good idea. Weapons should be carried and directed by humans, not AI or animals.

                >but humans are dumb, treacherous, and fallible
Sure, so let's just cut of the middle-man of killer robots and xenomorphs. It's bad enough that fricking butter-bars already won't take a piss without asking their synthetic if it's okay.

Presumably the transition process would render that moot e.g. your new obedient bugs won't start a hive or will pack and leave after the job is done or will die off afterwards etc.

Assuming you're dealing with synths the way they're depicted in movies and games then Aliens have the precisely same advantages as over humans, namely being stronger, sneakier, disposable and more patient. Aliens thrive in hard to reach areas which are more accessible to humans than to androids (the way they're usually depicted).
              >Humans aren't particularly durable to acid blood and sharp bits of aliens (or gunfire for that matter)
Cue Bishop getting ripped in half. Them being more durable than humans doesn't mean resistant to xenos.
Besides the only reason why the human Sulaco crew got trashed is because they walked into a de facto ambush with a severe handicap in firepower, assuming a completely different foe.

I figure a big part of it is that technically speaking, a xenomorph is far cheaper if your plan to control them doesn't go wrong (it always does). All you need is warm bodies to make more, and depending on your morals you can get those for quite cheap.

Nah xenos are the perfect “frick you” bio weapon. Unless a Hive on a planet and in a year everyone will be dead. On a military installation, a couple days. They can survive in horrendous conditions so they’re just very utilitarian and self-sustaining. Very good weapons if controlled.

Xenomorphs aren't impressive versus competent military.

Even against a single squad of jackoff marines who were setup to fail they still suffered massive casualties even after getting a poorly-armed frontier civilian colony to build their numbers on.

Fireteam expands on this a bit, combat androids exist, but they are strictly drawn from what are called low sapient product lines. They are just self aware enough to be able to fill in for a human marine should there not be enough organics to fill out a fire team. The Bishop style ones tend to stay on the ship or in secured areas, because they are a significantly greater investment than the low sapient models.

That's what made them so good though, they were all wacky "what ifs" with radically different tones, themes and art styles, they took a bog standard sci fi setting and went crazy with it with no creative limitations and that's why so many are memorable even if they don't jive with the movies so much. Shit like Berserker, Labyrinth and the whole Nightmare Assylum series are fricking kino, and then you have Mondo the hunter and what not.

You can walk on off to it with full kit, stand inside and prepare. Makes dismount and mount the fastest it can possibly be. Which if you view an APC effectiveness as its speed to deliver troops then maximise the design to that means its core competencies are present even if it's armour or weapon become obsolete
