      >no linseed/tung oil finish
      >bagged shells likely aren't even exotic shotgun shells
      >no irons
Potential's there, it just needs a few finishing touches.

Vmax or any soft tipped/hollow points. Body armor isn't as relevant as you think and anyone with a brain would shoot abdomen and lower.

I don't know exactly what you're trying to imply, but if I think you're saying what I think you are, then yes, armor penning rounds are a meme. Everyone and their grandma now has level 4 plates. So high flesh damage is the meta. M193 out of 20 inch barrels is king.

SSTs are good within the 7.62x39 velocity range but they're pretty soft so you wouldn't want to try shooting them through barriers. they kill deers pretty well at least

Everything except 8m3 and softpoints is shit tier garbage for expansion.
Even the Hornady SSTs are undervelocity by 400 fps.

its amazing how cheap and shitty american made ammo is.

My norinco chink ammo hits nearly 2500 fps, mutt ammo has no excuse.

7.62x39 doesn't have any loadings that are as good as the best 5.56 loads, SSTs are probably the best you can get in 7.62x39

Who fricking cares how fast your ammo is if it does frick all in soft tissue and has trash accuracy requirements compares to something 150fps slower

    8m3 (no longer available)
    8hp (no longer available)
    Hornady V-Max
    SOME Soft Points

That's about it. There's plenty of mediocre options available, but the good stuff is mostly gone due to Biden's import bans. As far as FMJ goes, M67 does a pretty good job.

Not even joking, the expansion on them is great and Barnauls ammo is all surprisingly accurate.

How is Barnaul HP? I have 7.62x39 HP, but I don't have any real means to test it

the HP is for accuracy not expansion in 7.62x39

That's what they say for all 5.56 OTM rounds, too ... but they expand and cause quite reliable and good tissue damage to a certain velocity threshold.

Hornady SST back when it was steel cased was nice since it relatively cheap compared to other defensive loadings at the time, but since they switched to brass case some years back they jacked the price up a lot. 8m3 is supposed to be pretty good too. And like the other anon said, hp and soft point too, but I've heard the run of the mill steel cased hp doesn't expand that well, but I don't have any experience with it. There are a ton of YouTube vids on all of this too.
