Genuinely depressing to realize that this man had such a profound awareness for the wellbeing of his nation and still his citizens favored a moron murderer.

African nations truly do have the capacity to be saved if not for their unevolved masses.

Remember anon, it happens literally everywhere. moronic populist types know exactly what to say that makes the average person, who is well-meaning, emotional, and somewhat dim, riled up.

        >Slovakia
        >Poland
        >Argentina
        >The US
        >dozens of others
All of these countries have already put reactionary populists in power or have a sizeable chunk trying to. You are always two steps from Niger, even in your own backyard.

Believing in absolute national sovereignty is not a 'populist talking point', its a fundamental moral principle that should be defended by force. 'Populism' is just an establishment slur for doing what normal people want instead of serving corporate interests.

                >The united states is illegitimate

The individual states are not nations ie ethnic groups Anon.

You could easily argue that pre-union, many states had national identities.

Anon the original 13 colonies were heavily distinct from each other and it was not a settled thing that they would all unify for independence at all. They had similar ethnic roots but considerably different cultural backgrounds. The USA is by definition a supranational entity that has so firmly enveloped its parts that it is now one unit.

                >populism is an establishment slur
populism has been around for longer than your ancestors have been speaking english. You're right in that all populism means is doing what normal people want, or telling normal people what they want to hear. The problem is that normal people do not understand the world they're a part of, only their own little slice of it. You cannot govern a nation that at any other point in time would be earnestly called an empire, based on the collective whims of a million different hovels, cottages and apartments.

Mom and pop do not understand interest rates, or inflation, or trade, or diplomacy. Bob at the mechanic's shop does not understand stocks, he doesn't understand markets, he doesn't understand frameworks of law or legal precedents. "Populists" tell Mom, Pop, and Bob that all their little worries, which are usually not imagined ones, should be the forefront of national policy. But only an actual moron would try to make it happen.

To expand on that last point: Populists latch onto real problems, and real fears and worries to garner support from people who have no guiding philosophies besides what they like or don't like, I.E. normal people. They tell normal people that they hear them about their real problems, and that they personally, the Man In Power, will address those problems, if you vote/support/donate to their cause.

                >Border security
                >Cost of living issues
                >Government spending
                >Healthcare costs and insurance

these are real issues that populists in the united states tell people they will address, so long as they're put in power and given the ability to make sweeping, unchecked reforms to the government. If you can't see the issue in handing power over to people who have no other policy beyond
                >I'll say and do anything for anybody to get their support
then I really don't know how to help you any further.

When will we see independent; Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingria, Karelia, Komi, Pomorie, Cossackia, Kalmykia, Kuban, Circassia, Ingushetia, Bashkortostan, Chuvashia, Erzyan Mastor, Idel-Ural, Mari-El, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Ural Republic, Siberia, Tuva, Buryatia, Sakha

you say you are against internationalists, then free all now, if you are for an indpendent Scotland or England then you should agree with all of these 'homelands should be ruled by natives' as you say.

Is this supposed to catch me out? Obviously every country conquered by the Russians/Soviets should be able to rule itself and be independent and compensation should be paid for the horrific things the Soviets did to the reindeer herders among other imperialist acts. Nobody should ever be ruled by foreigners.

Speech of Niger's ex-president shortly before he got couped. Basically said:
        >Having powerful countries help train our soldiers and give us equipment/infrastructure would be nice
        >Insistence on total sovereignty is a fool's errand when 40% of the national budget comes from foreign aid
        >Selling raw material to Europe for money is a good idea, they no longer conquer us and now just buy our stuff instead
        >We could make a lot of money selling Uranium to France
        >Letting Europeans take care of of Africa's terrorists won't work, we have to do it primarily ourselves
        >Rather than hiring mercs we should use the money to get equipment like helicopters

    Absolutely pitiful

Burkina Faso is essentially trapped to the area around the capital and the rest is almost entirely in the control of Jihadists.

Mali has no control over most of the north and locals have formed their own ethnic militias.

Niger is marginally better but faces incursions from neighbouring jihadi groups.
