There are these books by Dave Canterbury - see pic. They seem popular, but, honestly, I was quite amazed about how superficial and general the one was, I skimmed through. I didn't even bother to download them as pdfs. I dunno...ARE there actually good survival handbooks/guides? I would love to know, too.

A road atlas, because in a real life SHTF scenario you're going to be driving away from whatever the frick is happening rather than sticking.

Yes sure, this is reasonable. And, naturally, you could argue for map material in general and also for dedicated books covering various topics, but we're looking for, say, variants of general ideally non-cringe handbooks covering broad topics in survial. The SAS handbook is such a thing. What are other examples in this direction? Anyone?

SAS handbook is good. There's also an SAS Urban Survival book. Older copies of the Boy Scout Handbook are excellent, ideally back from the 1950-1970s. Avoid post 2000, too much of the good stuff has been cut out and replaced with useless crap.
The Foxfire series of books contains a lot of useful information as well.

Anything that details natural disaster preparedness. There's a lot of similarities:
    >hospitals are slammed
    >the power is out and isn't coming back on anytime soon
    >same for the cell towers and all other utilities
    >emergency services are absolutely swamped; if you need help, it is not coming.
    >grocery stores are empty and the gas stations ran out two days ago

Also SHTF isn't like a switch, it's more like a sliding scale in practice. Summer 2020 was SHTF in some cities, it was business as usual+mask in others. Hurricane Katrina was SHTF for the entire state of Louisiana for weeks on end. Society will not break down everywhere, all at once.

Also, your SHTF plan should probably be more vehicle-centric than it currently is. If shit goes down fast and you are not home, it might be a struggle to get home. Could be as simple as a frickoff big snowstorm destroyed the highway while you were out of town, or maybe Soros's street thugs started shit downtown while you were at work. Can you spend an unexpected night in your car if necessary? Blanket snack and water isn't that hard to keep in the trunk.

Or maybe you're at home, perhaps in Kentucky, and the river is rising. And is about to rise into your dining room. Or you live in Charleston SC and a wild-ass category 4 hurricane is coming straight for you. Obviously it's time to get out of dodge, but ofc lootBlack folk are going to be by your house before you can get back or maybe you don't want to leave irreplaceable things behind for nature to frick up. What all can you take with you? If you have a family, can you fit everyone in one vehicle? Might need to take both cars. Are they mechanically sound to rely on? Do you have spare gas cans for them? Gas stations go dry when the trucks can't get into town.

You get the idea, get thinking the right way and it all comes together. If you have a gun you know how to use well, and are prepared for a no shit natural disaster, you're honestly 98% ready.

The Encyclopedia of Country Living by Carla Emory
    The Ball Blue Book
    The Merck Manual
    The Merck Veterinary Manual
The Handbook of Chemistry and Physics
    All of the Foxfire books
    The Sunset Vegetable Garden Book
The Chilton and Haynes manuals for every motor vehicle you have access to.
Reloading manuals from at least 3 different publishers.
At least 3 different cookbooks. Real cookbooks, not trendy diet bullshit.

That’ll get you started. As you get each book, sit down with it and spend an hour becoming familiar with what’s in it. You don’t have to memorize anything, but you do want to have a real good idea of what information you have on hand.
