This. Don't imagine sitting in you living room blasting bandits with your favorite gun from the hallway. Imagine needing to haul ass and run for your literal life miles from home. That's why you need to exercise. Not a 22 mile marathon, but if you can't even run flat out like a devil for more than 10 minutes then you're NGMI.

Ticks genuinely fricking terrify. It baffles me that no one's come up with a cure yet, then again it's highly likely that ticks were originally meant to be used as a bioweapon
Anyway, does anyone know if there's lots of ticks down here in the New Mexico desert? All the graphs and maps I've seen make it look like they're mostly around the east and west coasts, not so much in the desert.

if your joints start hurting should you stop working out or stop being a b***h?

      Anonymous

Work out until they either stop hurting or you suffer permanent damage. If your body cant take it, why live?

      Anonymous

If your joints start hurting then you need to reevaluate your technique. You shouldn't be putting load on your joints directly.

      Anonymous

You shouldn't be working out the same muscle more than once every 48 hours. Basically you need two nights of sleep in-between working out the same muscle. If you have shit technique or something, you may want to have 3 nights of sleep per exercise of that muscle.

In your case I recommend taking a week or 2 off that muscle. "Joints hurting" sounds like you're developing tendonitis from over exertion.

        Anonymous

This is correct, but I want to add to it since you're touching on recovery.

If you're working out and find that you get T-rex arms, or your muscles are still too sore to workout after 3 days, start drinking a good quality protein shake after your workout. There are a lot of good proteins, ON's Whey, Syntha-6, if you can stand the flavor, Carnivore.

          Anonymous

Instead of recommending a brand name that may or may not be impossible to get in a certain region, just recommend the basics. OP wants a whey based protein powder.

Furthermore, muscles can grow faster than tendons if you aren't getting enough vitamin C. Get capsicums if you want lots of natural Vit C. Or just take a multivitamin.

    Serious response:
Walking 3 miles a day for several months to get down to a reasonable weight. Hopefully outdoors somewhere to get a base tan for prolonged sun exposure. And bonus points if the track you walk has a pull up bar to do once per lap. Once you're down to a good weight, start running. 1 minute jog, 2 minute walk. Repeat that 10 times for 2 weeks. Then 2 minute run, 3 minute walk for 2 weeks. Etc.

Running overweight will not help you lose weight, it will make you ravenously hungry. It's also bad for your joints and tendons.

Leisure walking is proven to burn calories without giving you the munchies.

Go to PrepHole, they have daily threads dedicated to praying for the genocide of all ticks. They have all kinds of home remedies and superficial nonsense that'll protect you from ticks but the one thing they all agree on is to basically wear long sleeved shirts and pants, wear long socks, stay away from large vegetation like bushes and shrubs, and get yourself a hiking buddy so the two of you can strip down to your Johnnies and search each other for ticks, particularly in the hairy parts like the legs and the scalp.

Bare minimum cardio is 1 hour per week. Ideally, you want 2-3.
You also want resistance workouts like weight lifting. Exercise bands are more convenient but there's an upper limit to how much resistance they offer. Isometrics are weird but they work.

The 1 hour minimum of exercise you need will be so traumatic, it'll be like a regular 6hr/wk workout regimen followed by Karens.

Fat /k/sters will try to break it up into 2, 1/2hour episodes, the first 1/2 hour of intense cardiovascular exercise will leave them chair-bound for a month.

I got some beginner questions, Anons.

    - How much should I be increasing the weight I'm using weekly? Like if I'm curling 25 lb dumbbells this week what should I move to on the next?

    - Are Bulgarian split squats a meme? I have a fricked up knee and I feel like I'm going to injure myself doing this one with dumbbells. What are the alternatives?

Keep lifting harder until it starts getting you off.

Do a short warmup + stretches before a routine. Stretch afterwards. Eat lots of protein + creatine and get plenty of sleep.

Contrasting showers apparently help a lot (take a nice hot shower after your workout, then at the end crank the water to freezing cold for about a minute)

Just a basic compound and cardio routine will get you in better shape than like 90% of the population.
Remember, statistically only like 25% of the population under 25 can do a single pull up with proper form, this drops down to 10% past 25

Just lift, do cardio, do pullups, work your ENTIRE fricking body, do cross country runs, and do shit I hear from time to time. You don't need a specific routine for /k/ gayotry, fit is fit.

Is there a difference compared to the version 2 and 3?
