        How does it feed?

It would probably need a tube magazine like a Remington nylon 66

Slide has a cutout for the hammer to pass through, no reason it couldn't be extended at the base to fit the dove tail though it's no longer functional.

That said while I don't care for that specific design, (impossible feed aside), the aesthetic of ye olde flintlock style swept grips on modern mag fed handguns is mint. That and handguns with a forward magwell are cool looking to me, although not really practical compared to just having a "normal" pistol unless you had something like this old airsoft gun with a double stack of .50 AE or some other fat/long enough bullet you can't reasonably fit a double stack in a grip.

      Anonymous

Old guns like flintlocks had total freedom to design the grip shape because there was no magazine or mainspring in there which could constrain it. But even so none were shaped that extreme, the ergonomics are just terrible.

        Anonymous

Oh for sure, there's a reason that even really old flintlocks designed for target shooting use a "modern" style pistol grip. It's still aesthetically pleasing to me though.

Well sure, it's not like the average AR-15 is high recoiling, which means those lowers are purely for looks and not practical applications, which makes them automatically shit tier.

modern dueling pistols is a kino idea, but i don't think this is the best implementation of it.

  16. 1 month ago
    Anonymous

Grip angle is unironically excellent for offhand shooting if you favor locking out your wrist. Almost nobody does that anymore because of autoloaders and Cooper, but it's completely viable for one handed shooting if one can tolerate an extreme grip angle.

Feeding and slide bite may be issues. The floral print isn't my thing but it's tastefully done. 5/5 would bring to range if only to watch boomers stroke the frick out.

      Anonymous

There has never been a pistol made where you can "lock out your wrist." OPs pic might do it but nothing you know about.

        Anonymous

There are plenty of muzzleloading pistols with grip angles like that.

          Anonymous

And every one of them you can point farther down than OPs pic. And you weren't talking about blunderbusses because you mentioned slide bite. You were talking about Glocks or some shit with a barely different grip angle to a 1911 and nowhere fricking near being able to have bone-on-bone "lockout" as you say.

It would work with a blow-forward design. Pretty cool, honestly.

Was thinking that the slide could be designed to fold instead of slide like a Luger. And then I realized the Luger is basically this for real with its slanted grip and feed.

  18. 1 month ago
    Anonymous

It can work, but you would need to keep the mag vertical and cut it down to be flush with the angled grip. You would be trading magazine capacity and ergonomics for cool factor.

Personally I would do it if I had the tools.
