This, though it's mostly for allowing space for scope mounting. It's an extremely niche and fairly worthless skill to maintain sights while cycling action.
Not an expert, but I do see a potential flaw in being a straight pull. Lets say that in erronous event, the cartridge you shoot is too hot, having a twist on the action of the bolt, could reduce the speed at which it flies back out at you
If your gun is made for quick cycling (bolt right next to trigger, can be cycled without losing sight picture see SMLE) or has to mount a traditional (non-scout) scope, then bent. If not straight is vastly superior. A straight handle facilitates secure and fast cycling using the palm of your hand. It is also better to use brute force on if the bolt is stuck (Mosin-users can relate). Also a straight handle is bigger and therefore better for use with thick gloves, stiff hands, wounded hands, your forearm etc. which all might happen in combat.
While the straight handle is made to handle a sticky chamber, the Mosin's tiny handle doesn't help with that. Not sure why they kept that trait from the Berdan.
Straight. Because battlefeels taught me you can still look down a scope when you pull just straight
>left handed
>trips and falls
>instantly impaled by the bolt
Pretty clear to me op
don't be a lefty.
>being wrong handed
lmao you deserve to be impaled
witches get the stake
Cringe
Bent because it can be made to not block your sights when you're cycling the action

>just mount it higher
Small arms purchasers of the early 20th century strongly disagreed.
Straight is easier to get deep inside your anus.
>I prefer mine nonexistent
>the bolt that hits back
Not sure why I imagine this thing to be spring loaded lmao
If you're expecting the ability to mount a scope, bent, but otherwise straight is better
>but otherwise straight is better
Why?

Thread is talking about straight bolt lever, not straight pull action
Multi-bent.
Straight
Straight handle at a downward angle.

Bent, you can pull the trigger with your hand still on the bolt.
Straight, is prettier
