weird personal guns in warzones
i don't mean the FNCs in ukraine or STGs in syria,
i'm talking about stuff that literally one guy brought into combat because he just liked it that much,
and by all rights had no business being in that particular theatre otherwise.

You can't bring personal guns, unless they are in parts and approved by the state for transfer themselves. Thats more expensive than just getting issued one while in the country.

you can get a waiver for specific guns if they know you're good on it
Like my friend went to afghanistan with his nugget because he was sniper qualified and he promised to bag a haji if he was allowed to take it

JSOC wasn’t exactly checking our shit too closely so it would be easy to sneak one through. I wouldn’t try sneaking it back in though.

you better tell it to the guy that brought his bullpup m14 to afghanistan

He bought a chassis which he mounted his issued gun in. Not significantly different to guys who bought the whole magpul catalog during the surge.

i'd bet money this man even made up some bullshit of 'being part of a bullpup testing plan', though frankly i wouldn't want to carry around the fricktarded EBR kit myself either.

It's an MSG90 and they were available to various SOF units since the mid-80s
Again, it's not a guy's personal rifle from home

No pix, but worked near one US NG moron in Afghan with a stainless M9/92 Beretta.
In a chest crossdraw holster on his BA.
    >no improvement over an issue M9 except making a big shiny aiming mark on his chest
    >I kept hoping for a Talib who could actually aim to hit it
    >they were vehicle mounted Road Clearance so Cam&Concealment werent a stealth issue, but his Command were still redneck mouthbreathers to allow it

I've heard from other anons that Arabs don't really care or listen to dudes with rifles, but when someone flashes a pistol they get really scared due to cultural experience with officers, like in Ba'athist Iraq

Was rear air guard on a Stryker in Iraq. This is 100% true. If I meant business threatening a car I had to pull out the m9

The reasoning those anons used is far too complex for sandBlack person brains
        >Baathist officers used pistols and were often psychologically unstable and did lots of atrocities, these new invaders with the pistols must be psychologically unhinged as well
        Actually it's as simple as
        >pistol = authority = we must obey

are you seriously this clueless as to not understanding this cultural dynamic with arabs? I've gotten haircuts before and whenever, the topic the guns comes up, they all go crazy asking me about handguns.

morons sometimes buy black-market souvenirs in country and carry them about, usually until confiscated. Some really raggedy ass coalition forces or local militias might permit their men to use such weapons for reasons of ill discipline.

Common outcomes include nobody being able to work out if they're firing or being fired on, launching flares and grenades into their own position by accident, needlessly exposing themselves to fire, arsing around in backpacks, but the biggest concern is that troops might be carrying nonstandard weapons specifically to kill prisoners, civilians, or to frag their own officers. That's why it's a universal no-go.

I believe they're a universal no-go because of their association with fragging officers, executing POWS and crimes against civilians. I would go as far as to say that the only units who permit these kind of weapons do so specifically because they intend to engage in the above activities. Some off duty moron buying a souvenir and smuggling it into theater presents far too great a risk.
And that's aside from the obvious logistical, catastrophic failure, misuse and confusion that such a weapon would be likely to cause.

You do see it, mostly where combat tourists are using a warzone to LARP as a shooting range, there are ranges like that where logies try to scrape together a bit of extra money at their own peril, but these guys are barely in theater.
moron millitia will usually be given standard weapons if only to control them. Only CIA and assfricked diplomatic liason have to actually operate with hilbilly local militia. I've had black powder weapons wienered and waved in my face all day by these morons.

morons who try to sneak souvanirs bought on leave into theater. antisocials who plan on executing friendlies/POW/abusing civilians. Combat tourists a mile outside the capitol.
