Buy an airsoft chest rig, sew in the mounting piece.

Same price as the product here in Aus.

Attach straps and padding to it.

With what material? It needs to be strong enough to carry 50kg.

Figured out the straps part. Now I just need the padding.

you could try to find a discarded office chair
take out the padding, cut it into the right size and then make your own enclosure for the padding out of some cloth you have laying around, ideally a synthetic fiber

Why does this thread exist? You have pictures of the thing you're trying to make, and it's a very simple thing, so make it. Get a plate/board, glue some padding to the back of it, and attach some straps to it. It's not multivariable calculus.

No longer worried so much about the vest potion since I found it it's detachable and it's only there for comfort.
Started to make a prototype, haven't added the dowel yet but it's starting to feel like a guillotine when I apply weight to the back or front. I'm hoping that's because I haven't made it too tight yet.
Also found out the plate in the picture isn't made from steel but aluminium. I assume that's to cut costs(rrp of $300 lmao).

      Oh stfu..
