Weapons Permit

Anyone know if there's such a thing as a permit for civillians that allows you to carry weapons into "restricted" buildings (banks, government buildings, etc...)?

I'm sure feds can get something like that but I'm not trying to work for an alphabet soup agency

Being a part-time deputy, I guess. I was one for a couple years and regularly carried my CCW gun when they needed some to cover at the local school for a couple hours while a full time officer was needed elsewhere during school hours.

I am about to be an LEO, but I was hoping for something that would work even if I was out of uniform.

I am former military, if that matters.

The "I'm a cop" excuse goes pretty frickin far. At least, it does in my small town. Unless you're a city slicker, no one is going to care if an off-duty officer is carrying a gun in places some people wouldn't be allowed to.

I actually know of a specialized permit designed by the federal government (and supported by some State governments) for this exact purpose but the government tries to keep it hush hush - they don’t want people to know about it

My point is that military and first responders are infinitely more capable than (You).

              Can you run five miles?
Can you march 20 miles in full kit, while holding a rifle?
              Can you treat massive hemorrhaging?
Can you coordinate maneuvers with a small unit?
Can you reliably hit a target at 200+ yards away? (If you're on /k/ and can't do that you probably shouldn't be here)

If you didn't answer "yes" to all of those questions with confidence, you aren't prepared to do jack shit against the government. Guess is though?

That attitude will take you far man, especially if there’s ever a lot of lawlessness going on. Be sure to tell them all about how you can run 5 miles. Women don’t do that at the gym every single day.

          >The government’s jackboots are more capable than you and that’s why they’re more capable of fighting the government.
          It’s time to stop pointing.

Over 50% of the military is projected to defect in the event of a civil conflict. The vast majority of LEOs and other first responders identify as "politically conservative" (anything from libertarian to republican to national socialist).

I will 100% concede that there are plenty of fricking morons in both worlds, but the vast majority of US are people who want to do a job and get trained on weapons, medical applications, etc...

If you want to b***h about how said people are unwilling to defy daddy gubmint, you should do something yourself and have a better alternative method of gathering capital whilst cultivating those skillsets so that you aren't preaching from your basement whilst being both inept and unwilling to do anything.

    >what separates you from them
Power, group numbers, access to authority figures, and equipment mostly.
You seem really really confused about why someone with no power has more trouble with taking action than a group of people who not only have lots of power, but also, according to you, are more capable and better than me. So why are they sitting on their hands?
Also it’s genuinely weird how you’re justifying willingly carrying out bad orders with the assertion that “when the time comes” suddenly the government workers will stop fighting for the government.
Nice ad homs, by the way. Lazy, yet arrogant.

      >a group of people who not only have lots of power, but also, according to you, are more capable and better than me
More capable, yes, never argued that we have power though.

Highest I got in the military was Team lead. I could tell someone of a lower rank to do push-ups, whoop frickin dee. Insofar as affecting regulations, calling shots, input for training events, etc... I had zero power. That's how it is for 90% of people in the service, and hence why I will reiterate that anyone with a rank below E-9/O-4 isn't someone you should be worried about.

      >So why are they sitting on their hands?
You outnumber military personnel 100 to 1. Why are you sitting on your hands?

      >carrying out bad orders
I have never had to carry out any unlawful order against another American. And as an LEO, I can fricking quit if they tell me to do something moronic. Granted, I will say that there are plenty of weak willed buttholes who won't do that, but my point, as I have asked many times before, is:

What have you done that you expect military/law enforcement to do against their superiors? To extrapolate:
What have you done that risks your life and/or imprisonment that you so boldly claim from behind computer everyone should be doing?

I did some things that risked my career. Granted, nothing big, but it was more than enough to get me chaptered or UCMJ'd. What have (You) done to put your money where your mouth is?

        Anonymous

Wow that’s a lot of bullshit, but let’s break it down. First off:
        >I I I me me me
This is about organizations at large, not you personally, so I’m going to have to ask you to take your fragile ego and put it back in your purse.
        >you outnumber
Attempts to organize by civilians are commonly infiltrated by law enforcement to either disband them or to subvert them. Surely you’re aware of this?
        >unlawful
        lol
        >the government says doing this to you is legal so it’s fine! 😀
Hence what happened with the lockdowns. I was lucky enough to be considered “essential”, but many people weren’t and were harmed by the enforcement of that law.
        >what have I done to expect
Irrelevant. You’re the one insisting that police/military hate the colonels/generals/commissioners/politcians as much or more than anyone else.
Why is it contingent on me for them to defy their superiors when “it all happens” as you put it, most especially when you claim that they’re so much better than I am?
        >I did some things that risked my career
I, frankly, do not believe this, unless you’re talking about fricking up on the job.

The boog boys were responding to calls for violence and death threats issued to a bar owner who insisted on opening her establishment during lockdowns.
