Loved bf1 with all of it's flaws, probably tied with 3 for my favorite HD battlefield.
4 was not bad but just kind of felt off.
Never got the chance to play bad company.
Favorite in the series tho is 1942 secret weapons
>4 was not bad but just kind of felt off.
This seems to be the prevailing opinion. It SHOULD have just been an expanded and better BF3, yet most of us remember BF3 more fondly. It could just come down to BF3 being first, but I feel like there was something else to it. Someone mentioned the map design and the way it affected to focus of battle, but I don't know.
The main thing I miss about those games was the tanks. If you knew how to use an MBT correctly, you were a monster and could really anchor a battle. Most players just drove them straight onto the point, or around the flank with no infantry support, though.
> 4 felt off
the netcode took about a year to become decent
on release there was an acceleration time to sprinting which made movement feel less responsive
3 also had better destruction in many cases than 4 in ways that actually mattered for gameplay. sure, 4 had the levolution events, but in 3 you could blow out the wall of most normal buildings even if it looked the same every time
There are also definitely map design differences, but you already touched on that.
Honestly I think people forget just how buggy bf4 was on launch. It really was a year before it was a decent game on many levels, by which time the game had somewhat died down.
BF1 was alright, I loved the chunk of all the guns and it at least tried to be a little decent. But BF3 is literally Generation Kill made into a game only this time its Russians and Iran instead of Iraqis, so that holds a special spot even if the suppression sucked ass and the movement was a little wonky.
Like any battlefield game strove for historical accuracy.
I've been enjoying the series since bf 1942 and 1 was just a fun time.
Loved making people seethe in my unrealistically fast and agile renault FT
You should be just as upset the BF3 guys aren't locked to M4/M16/AK74M. The weapon distribution is ridiculous, sure, but BF1 probably had the single most unique weapon roster of any Battlefield game. Guns back then were fricking wild and had interesting mechanics compared to the standardized shit nowadays.
BF1 let me kill guys with a Mauser C96 and poison gas.
Also, I was the guy who took the smoke medic load out.
Smoke grenades, smoke launcher. Literally Carrying operations single-handedly.
>almost every gun in the game was anachronistic >only one of the four classes uses bolt action rifles, all of which have scopes >black german soldiers >female Bedouin warriors with tatted up faces >announcer is just a random, calm female voice instead of radio signals officer
BF1 was the least /k/ battlefield game up to that point. It was the death knell for the series, as it continued to decline after that. It was okay for a retro-futuristic, steam/diesel-punk game, but it didn't even resemble WWI in the slightest.
>almost every gun in the game was anachronistic
The first game in the series had some anachronistic usage of guns too >only one of the four classes uses bolt action rifles, all of which have scopes
ALMOST all of which CAN have scopes >black german soldiers
It's not just the Germans friend 🙂 >female Bedouin warriors with tatted up faces
not plural, its just one for all five minutes of the last war story, you might as well complain about the bald female on the loading screen that's never seen anywhere else >announcer is just a random, calm female voice instead of radio signals officer
Pretty sure you can swap from male or female but I could be wrong
It's just as Battlefield as just about any other Battlefield, if you're unironically going to purchase a game from the series set in ANY time frame and expect realism you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Except the way you present your points tells me you don't actually know anything about the game and are parroting what other people have said because the opinions of your fellow man is all it takes to dissuade you from enjoying something on your own.
The fact that you had to make assumptions about the person you're arguing with instead of refuting their argument is bad faith, plain and simple.
You admit everything is correct, and then still b***h about it. Trying to tell people that BF1 is just as immersive as BF3 is also bad faith arguing, and just bad arguing. You're like the games journalists who say every war game is unrealistic because you can respawn, thus anyone who complains about UFOs or superheroes showing up is just a sexist. Nevermind the historical revisionism. There is a difference in making sacrifices for the sake of gameplay or balancing and rewriting history to suite you're political leanings while adding nothing or even detracting from the quality of the game.
>bolt action rifles get scopes
Yeah no fricking SHIT. Snipers back then didn't get fancy unique rifles, they just got standard issue models that were tested to have been somewhat more accurate than usual and affixed with a scope and maybe a cheek rest.
Anyway, all bolt actions in the game get iron sights and, in my opinion, actually work better with them because of the superior mobility.
...are you fricking moronic? Do you genuinely believe only a quarter of soldiers used bolt action rifles in WWI, and they were all snipers? Why are you even here?
...are you fricking moronic? Do you genuinely believe only a quarter of soldiers used bolt action rifles in WWI, and they were all snipers? Why are you even here?
this is the problem with BF1. It's literally just a WWII/steam-punk game with WWI skins slapped on it. Why they frick did they even set it in WWI?
the other problem is that they advertised it as being authentic and realistic, and claimed you ''would learn knew things you weren't taught about World War I''. Then, around the time it was released, they suddenly did a 180 and started damage control. They did the same thing with Battlefield V, but everyone had caught on by then. Plus, the trailer for Battlefield V was way worse.
You're thinking of V entirely.
BF1 was called "alt-history" and a "what-if situation" pretty much right out of the gate. It was also one of the most successful Battlefield launches ever. No one "caught on" to V because of 1, people were on a major fricking hype train for the next BF. Until the trailer dissuaded some people, and the open beta dissuaded more, and finally Dice dug their own grave by telling you not to buy the game.
>you will never get stoned with your boys in Karkhand and marvel at destruction physics
Is the Project Reality mod for BF3 any good? The new battlefield made me mildly depressed, the only thing that was halfway fun were using the unpatched littlebirds purely because they were fricking cancer and any halfway decent legacy pilot could wipe out infantry squads with the rocket pods.
It's such a fricking shame they didn't just keep expanding BFV, I think it had everything I wanted from a core battlefield experience in terms of gameplay by the time they actually fixed it up.
>Insane ROF but thats about it >Useless at any range that isn't point blank >Slow as frick reload despite being a cqb weapon
It was strong at what it did (hosing down a guy) but sucked at everything else.
That's post-patch, when it was first introduced it was ridiculous. Pretty fricking accurate, with that insane firerate was horrendous. That and the FAMAS were both absolute cancer.
yeah the buildable objects in the game were great. creating defensive positions with other support players and holding the line on breakthrough was awesome. I can't believe they just dropped the concept and the game for bf2042.
Yeah, it was super fun on defense too. I remember sandbagging the organ balcony in the bombed out cathederal and holding it against all odds pretty fondly. Sadly, most players never bothered.
I used aek when I wanted to show aek tryhards how to do it.
Respect the support/engi grind, but I can't help think you did metro 24/7 a lot.
I'm also surprised by the mere 5929 score in vehicles yet high engi playtime. You spam rockets at infantry?
I played canals exclusively, metro is a shit map idk what people like about it.
>support main >CQB weapons >no vehicles >k/D under 3
Stuck in the tdm kiddies pool, I'd swap teams if we had a bunny hopper and claim a quarter of the map with my sks just to shit you
The TDM meta is only a meat grinder on casual servers, your play style relies on killing the same noob 25 times in a game type where I can't revive that noob.
Respect the support/engi grind, but I can't help think you did metro 24/7 a lot.

BF3 was the best BF
Left is PC right is PS4. PC I played alone and got bored, PS4 I played with 1 or to most of the time.
Infantry was more fun than vehicles, my stats aren't padded by them like some people.
AEK/M416/M16 was meta deal with it. But check the almost 11k kills on the AN-94
Entirely possible. What was your handle, I might be able to look it up. Side note: I didn't play pistol/knife servers, so all that stabbing was organic.
I can't be bothered screenshotting them, but my top 3 guns are the M416, SKS & MP7. I didn't even use it because it was meta, it was just my favourite gun in BC2, and it ended up being my most used in BF4 as well.
Heavy barrel, EOTech and a foregrip was aesthetically pleasing.
As far as i remember the closest thing someone is trying to do is WW3 but that thing has flopped, gone into early access, stopped being developted, back to closed beta, and now f2p weird beta. Heard mixed things of what's in there is good but hte game is just insanely buggy and connection issues galore making finding and actually playing horrible, a shame really
I really just wish we had BF4, but with the theme of BF3. BF4 was a great game, but honestly, I didn't enjoy the theme. Chinese military gear looks moronic and while asia is cool I'd rather have the battles take place in the cool recognizable places I see on the news and there is no war in Asia (right now)
>Battlefield 2 (last good Battlefield)
I totally agree. It is the last one we had fun with in the barracks.
Something just felt off about the movement and shooting in BF3. I never played it enough to really gain an understanding as to what it was.
It all stemmed from the abysmal rate that the servers sent out updates to the clients, so you constantly had problems with movement rubberbanding as the servers struggled to keep up, and hit detection feeling more like guesstimations made by the game compared to what was actually happening
BF4 launched with the same problems as well though they did eventually manage to mostly fix it
Ump45 on the close quarters dlc maps was cool. Sweating on gun master, getting into some back and forth with enemy snipers on nosehair canals on the crane
I was thirteen or so
I was playing BF2042 the other week (I got it for free), decided to give the Portal gamemode a go with the BF3 settings, and honestly, they did a decent job of recreating it.
Voicelines have either been re-recorded or they've just used the same, but it was weirdly nostalgic hearing my team cursing up a storm.
Shame that there's like, only two maps for each of the previous games. Only so many times you can play Caspian Border and Noshahr before getting bored.
The BC2 maps and models were alright too. Was nice to see my homie in the red beret defibbing me again.
>stupid flashlights >stupid frag rounds >every vehicle is useless until you grind out the REQUIRED upgrades >introduce cringe-ass scope glint instead of simply making sniping harder (ie get rid of being able to watch your bullet through the scope)
Snipers were and always have been obnoxious in the Battlefield series, thinking glint is a bad thing when your class has an instagib weapon and tiny silhouette shows you don't know shit about basic game design.
I'm rarely if ever killed by a sniper, I find they have no effect on gameplay and how many snipers your team has correlates directly with how likely to lose you are.
Often you will get five players simply climb the tallest thing and spend all day playing one eye Omar.
In bf4 the mav is the only relevant thing they do, the laser designator can be important on rush but generally helicopter pilots are sweatlords you have to kill with equally sweaty AT4 or prefire Igla.
>tfw the first gear set I ever bought that wasn't airshit garbage was aesthetically inspired by the BF3 Engineer
Used that kit for nearly a decade straight before I ended up getting a new, more modern and NIR certified kit a few years back. Went to many training courses, LARP sessions with that kit.
I was never able to play BF3 because I'm a third worlder, but I've had my fun playing 1942, Vietnam and 2 online.
I'd still be playing 1942 and 2 if my internet connection was stable.
got into playing it again with a friend, last time i played it was back in 2012/2013 when they were still releasing DLC's, litterally PEAK battlefield(along with play4free), 4 was just a chineese knockoff for beta Black person losers who needed 4 attachements, 1 was pretty good, but mostly for boomers still living in the trenches, 5 was a fricking disaster, and we dont talk about 2042
>Can you name a more GWOT aesthetic game?
Medal of Honor 2010. Best and probably one of the few games we got actually based on real world GWOT events, although not a faithful recreation of those events.
>completely bought the slavshit hype in 2012ish >frick you, i was a teenager >would change language to russian (chatter sounded cool, and i understand a bit) >would always switch factions to Russia >would use nothing but AK variants, SKS, dragunov, RPK, etc >would literally argue that NATO guns are little peashooters >was dead convinced the russian military could actually steamroll Europe if it wanted
>the closest thing we ever got to bf2142 titan mode in a later game was a shitty dlc that no one played
They really just dropped the best game-mode of the whole franchise and then never thought about it again. Bf3 was my first battlefield experience, but playing 2142 online with project revive was my favorite. Too bad EA took it down.
god the best thing i ever did with that game was install the native insurgents language pack, the BF2 Russian pack for security+uniforms and the immersive suppression mod. pure fricking chaos and you would have no clue what the frick was going on. Well until someone fired an RPG because for some reason the 'im nuclear" mod refused to uninstall and i'd get MGSV's Nuclear playing with the RPG happy insurgents.
They really are, but the main issue is a lack of content. I got it for free a few weeks back, and after playing for a while, I feel I've not got much to actually play for.
Like, all the weapons are tied to levelling up, rather than grinding as a certain class etc, and they're pretty widely spaced apart considering how few of them there are.
Felt like in BF3 & 4, I was constantly unlocking new weapons, gadgets and attachments to try. In 2042, it's like "Here, there's two shotguns in the game, and you unlock them 37 levels apart. Frick you."
All everyone ever wanted was BF4 with BF3 features added in. We'd play that game forever with new games adding onto it every few years.
But the industry will never make that game. It's too expensive. Game development is extremely inefficient, developers and artists don't work like industrial robots, they need a LOT of unproductive time. The publishers fought with them for years and now they have a compromise in place where they pay for up to 2 years of dev time and they MUST have a game by the end of that period. What that means is that most of the game is actually made in the last several months of a project cycle. That's why everything today seems to low-effort, unambitious and generally poor.
Not that anon and it's been years since I've played either, but off the top of my head >more powerful but lower quantity of gadgets and attachments
BF3 gadgets were useful as soon as you unlocked them, whereas BF4 gadgets had a bit of a learning curve. This resulted in meta playstyles where everybody used the same loudouts. >better VA
Characters in BF3 would scream "I'M GETTING RAPED IN THE ASS OVER HERE, GIVE ME SOME FRICKING AMMO" whereas in BF4 they basically just say "ammo pls". Also in BF3 VA lines would automatically trigger based on player conditions (low ammo, low health, being shot at, etc.) whereas in BF4 they had to be triggered by the players manually using the commorose, which 99% of players ignored. When players did use them, the voice lines were very flatly delivered and unemotive. >better levolution
Before BF4, levolution was simply battlefield destruction. Dice had started to lean into large game-changing events with some of the DLC maps, but by and large it was just blowing up buildings. Because that was still the focus, a map was effectively different each time you played it as the game responded to how the teams played and forced different playstyles as the enemy exploited the new terrain (I'd say BFBC2 did this better though). In BF4 maps were mostly static set pieces with limited destructability, but now somebody could shoot a missile at a dam and now the map has 1 foot of water which changed absolutely fricking nothing.
The only thing BF4 did better was no blue filter.
I liked BC2 much better then 3,4 and maybe even 2. It had snow, urban, and Jungle maps all at the same time and the nam expansion was fricking awesome. I loved tearing down entire buildings with tanks or drilling a hole in a wall to fire out of was pure fricking kino.
>We will never get another game like BF3
good. that piece of shit cemented the codified form of nubattlefield games. dont want to imagine what another bf3 would do to these games.
>AK74 >heavy barrel >6x scope >foregrip
20 kills per game at least. I was unstoppable. Also m16 heavy barrel and bipod was my favorite anti-sniper weapon
Yeah i miss the old games as well. DICE really had a smart idea with portal but they just left it barely baked with like a demo's worth of content for each game.
A full scale version of Portal that bridges the legacy games together under the same engine would be incredible. Remastered "greatest hits" maps is all we really need. I just don't think that it's within the scale of feasibility versus time and money.
2042 is just a mess. There is a decent game hidden in there somewhere but it just doesn't really feel like a true BF game. I also struggle with DICE always taking steps forward while also loosing so many good additions they had in previous games. They also struggle to use the good features they just brought in and instead focus on things that really serve little purpose beyond looks or distractions.
It's just all such a shame. I wish they had someone who could look though the BS and see the heart of what we love about these games and deliver a cohesive package, but i just don't think that's gonna happen.
Honestly, while the aesthetics are good, I would prefer if they were all wearing the big k-pots. Maybe even throw in some random variations like they did in MW2, but keep it so that at least half of the marines look like what they should.
I headshotted a heli pilot taking off on the assault ship from the construction site on Gulf of Oman remake. That was fricking awesome.
Nosehair Canals sucked, no clue why everybody liked it. Just a big open dock with a bunch of indestructible containers iirc
Why don't other games have the switching between characters during single player mechanic that BF2 did, I wonder. I thought that was a really cool way of vastly increasing replayability and opening up all sorts of different strategies and tactics without being forced to switch around, the way modern games do.
BTB BF1 and even regular HC servers were the absolute shit, and anybody complaining about the game obviously never tried to enjoy it, and only look for things to b***h about.
how the frick do you even get bf3 to work, I got it on steam because I wanted to play it again and stupid ass browser battlelog does not want to launch the game at all
I miss BF3 and 4. I miss my cute little LSAT too. Also miss stealing enemy T-90s because they had a great reticle for sitting in spawn and sniping. I wish we'd get that back but with modernized equipment and 5's fortification. Even better would be Foxhole style fortification and a foxhole/planetside style big war mode. Also want the damn privately run servers with actual admins back.
man the engineer getting the SCAR H was the most busted shit. Something about the recoil pattern would always land me a 3rd shot head shot and drop them.
yeah we're on DLC 2 now. I jumped on and played a few games of rush and had a little bit of fun. I still do not recommend. Probably out of the BF franchise for good
I can't remember if I bought the premium or not. God I hope I didn't. I did like throwbacks mode though. Likely out as well. I don't trust EA to not pull this shit again. You looking at any alternatives?
bf1 was more /k/

As far as i remember the closest thing someone is trying to do is WW3 but that thing has flopped, gone into early access, stopped being developted, back to closed beta, and now f2p weird beta. Heard mixed things of what's in there is good but hte game is just insanely buggy and connection issues galore making finding and actually playing horrible, a shame really
I really just wish we had BF4, but with the theme of BF3. BF4 was a great game, but honestly, I didn't enjoy the theme. Chinese military gear looks moronic and while asia is cool I'd rather have the battles take place in the cool recognizable places I see on the news and there is no war in Asia (right now)
Myanmar
battlefeild had jumped the before 3.
>Can you name a more GWOT aesthetic game?
Full Spectrum Warrior
Call of Duty 4
early versions of America's Army
Battlefield 2 (last good Battlefield)
>Battlefield 2 (last good Battlefield)
I totally agree. It is the last one we had fun with in the barracks.
Something just felt off about the movement and shooting in BF3. I never played it enough to really gain an understanding as to what it was.
It all stemmed from the abysmal rate that the servers sent out updates to the clients, so you constantly had problems with movement rubberbanding as the servers struggled to keep up, and hit detection feeling more like guesstimations made by the game compared to what was actually happening
BF4 launched with the same problems as well though they did eventually manage to mostly fix it
>Full Sprectrum Warrior
That ALICE gear was goat
I killed a lot of South Americans with 40mm smoke
Faster than the knife, clears corners, upsets snipers.
I also broke meta with smoke grenades and the m249+bipod, I was mag dumping into smoke before bf1 was even out.
B2K was easily the best FPS dlc I ever played as infantry. I miss it dearly. Now I just play BF4 and camp in IFVs on Golmund and in boats on Paracel.
BF3 for infantry/rush and BF4 for vehicles/cq.
Imagine playing bing wahoo as an adult.
you seem like a really fun and exciting person
BF3 beta, September - October 2011
Remington 870MCS
12G Slugs
Rifle Scope - 6x
Body shot one-shot kills out to 200 meters.
*siiiip* ........ yup. battlefield 3 was a good game.
The UMP on 2 shot burst was godly in there, as well
Reading that just brought back a flood of memories sniping with those monsters.
Why can't we have these days back bros?
How do we make the future live up to the past?
Ump45 on the close quarters dlc maps was cool. Sweating on gun master, getting into some back and forth with enemy snipers on nosehair canals on the crane
I was thirteen or so
>Remington 870MCS
>12G Slugs
>Rifle Scope - 6x
Based shotgun sniper.
>Body shot one-shot kills out to 200 meters.
false, only in HC and hc is fricking moronic
I don't understand why no one doesn't just make a BF2 clone on a modern engine.
It was pretty fun, felt like a sidegrade to BC2.
Ended up being my last BF game.
Why are Battlefield and Call of Duty such dogshit now? They haven’t produced a good game in like a decade.
They decided to stop making games and start making money.
because fortnite and warzone exist and they learnt people will spend a lot of money on dogshit
Fricking this (I have no shame for playing Fortnite just for the Beerus skin)
Gameplay was better in BC2, and bullet lag was horrendous in both.
Best of the BF Series in order
>1942 (with expansions)
>BF2
>2142
>Vietnam
>BC2
Anything not listed isn't even worth considering.
>We will never get another game like BF3
We did tho
based and I love shooting zhangers pilled
baste
kekek
(yes my k/d was shit at the time I took this cap but w/e.)
They took out a lot of the cursing in the multiplayer voice lines which gave BF3 a lot of character.
How is that assault gonna get to his rifle mags?
I love all the BF4 supports equally, they all have the kind of chunkiness to them that i appreciate
It works for the Shanghai level, but otherwise I thought giving the Chinks a swat team aesthetic felt out of place on most of their maps
Agreed, always thought the chink support in particular looked moronic.
>stupid flashlights
>stupid frag rounds
>every vehicle is useless until you grind out the REQUIRED upgrades
>introduce cringe-ass scope glint instead of simply making sniping harder (ie get rid of being able to watch your bullet through the scope)
glint exist so you have to position better with a sniper, instead of sitting in one place and left clicking on people
Snipers were and always have been obnoxious in the Battlefield series, thinking glint is a bad thing when your class has an instagib weapon and tiny silhouette shows you don't know shit about basic game design.
I'm rarely if ever killed by a sniper, I find they have no effect on gameplay and how many snipers your team has correlates directly with how likely to lose you are.
Often you will get five players simply climb the tallest thing and spend all day playing one eye Omar.
In bf4 the mav is the only relevant thing they do, the laser designator can be important on rush but generally helicopter pilots are sweatlords you have to kill with equally sweaty AT4 or prefire Igla.
i legitimately cannot remember snipers in BF2 ever feeling overpowered, probably because i was too busy being mulched by a jet/heli autocannon
>tfw the first gear set I ever bought that wasn't airshit garbage was aesthetically inspired by the BF3 Engineer
Used that kit for nearly a decade straight before I ended up getting a new, more modern and NIR certified kit a few years back. Went to many training courses, LARP sessions with that kit.
>not running around cutting throats as the ultimate disrespect
i mean come on guys.
Support ftw, I loved leveling strong points for my team.
Also the only counter to sniper gays was MG's
real shit
This was great. If only somebody would remaster it.
>just mowing down nogs as a White ubermench
This would cause the wokies to burn the studio down.
loved that game, my only guff with it was the friendly ai was trash unless they were on a 50
Modern Remake
What is Tip of the Spear. Task Force Elite.
I was never able to play BF3 because I'm a third worlder, but I've had my fun playing 1942, Vietnam and 2 online.
I'd still be playing 1942 and 2 if my internet connection was stable.
Frick heliBlack folk btw
combining assault/medic, AT/engineer and recon/sniper was the worst decision Dice has made.
got into playing it again with a friend, last time i played it was back in 2012/2013 when they were still releasing DLC's, litterally PEAK battlefield(along with play4free), 4 was just a chineese knockoff for beta Black person losers who needed 4 attachements, 1 was pretty good, but mostly for boomers still living in the trenches, 5 was a fricking disaster, and we dont talk about 2042
>BF3
A downgrade from BF2, as BF3 is consolized trash with a shitty blue filter.
BF3 was the pleb friendly successor to BC2. Anyone who disagrees was a normie homosexual who never experienced BC2.
BC2 was great but it's art style was little cartoonish. BF3 put in a little bit more authentic flavor
>Can you name a more GWOT aesthetic game?
Medal of Honor 2010. Best and probably one of the few games we got actually based on real world GWOT events, although not a faithful recreation of those events.
I unironically enjoyed MoH2010 & Warfighter. I remember fricking about with the proto-gunsmith in Warfighter for ages.
>completely bought the slavshit hype in 2012ish
>frick you, i was a teenager
>would change language to russian (chatter sounded cool, and i understand a bit)
>would always switch factions to Russia
>would use nothing but AK variants, SKS, dragunov, RPK, etc
>would literally argue that NATO guns are little peashooters
>was dead convinced the russian military could actually steamroll Europe if it wanted
can i ever be forgiven?
God forgives, anon. All you have to do is ask.
>the closest thing we ever got to bf2142 titan mode in a later game was a shitty dlc that no one played
They really just dropped the best game-mode of the whole franchise and then never thought about it again. Bf3 was my first battlefield experience, but playing 2142 online with project revive was my favorite. Too bad EA took it down.
Verdun, Tannenburg, Hell Let Loose, RB6 Siege are all better
None of these are about the war on terror tho, and neither do they invoke the aesthetics of those days.
>RB6 Siege
>a hero shooter
fricking an hero yourself every day we fall further from god's light
>Can you name a more GWOT
insrugency because its actually about GWOT
also the suppression ruined the game
Man FRICK SINJAR
sinjar a point and the entirety of siege makes me wonder if they ever did any play testing for that game
god the best thing i ever did with that game was install the native insurgents language pack, the BF2 Russian pack for security+uniforms and the immersive suppression mod. pure fricking chaos and you would have no clue what the frick was going on. Well until someone fired an RPG because for some reason the 'im nuclear" mod refused to uninstall and i'd get MGSV's Nuclear playing with the RPG happy insurgents.
Did they salvage 2042? Or is there no hope left?
They are trying.
I actually hopped back onto it just to see where it's at. It's still got a lot of problems, but I did actually find myself having fun.
That's why everything today seems to low-effort, unambitious and generally poor.
as someone who never played BF3, but plays BF4 to this day, what features are missing from BF4?
Not that anon and it's been years since I've played either, but off the top of my head
>more powerful but lower quantity of gadgets and attachments
BF4 removing the blue filter was the worst thing they could've done, only femboy twink homosexuals like the piss ugly grey filter they put on
no
mp games are for the large part pretty dead
streamers, zoomers and esports have basically ruined every fps
>all those M16 kills
fug
Knife kills wtf
>bitches crying in mapchat about premium knife
Delicious. Worth every penny.
Did you ever unlock the bipod?
it's called "knife only" server
I liked BC2 much better then 3,4 and maybe even 2. It had snow, urban, and Jungle maps all at the same time and the nam expansion was fricking awesome. I loved tearing down entire buildings with tanks or drilling a hole in a wall to fire out of was pure fricking kino.
BF3 felt like a side grade to the BC2 which was way more fun. BC2 also brought us the Vietnam expansion kino
>We will never get another game like BF3
good. that piece of shit cemented the codified form of nubattlefield games. dont want to imagine what another bf3 would do to these games.
THAT DON'T FLY WITH ME SPACE MUFFIN
>The GOTY that we never got
>AK74
>heavy barrel
>6x scope
>foregrip
20 kills per game at least. I was unstoppable. Also m16 heavy barrel and bipod was my favorite anti-sniper weapon
Come on dude, really?
Yes. Frick everyone.
>oof ow the edge
My only regret is that I wish I had played Support and Engineer more than fricking homosexual Recon class.
100 people across the whole world still play this game during peak hours on ps3
And its all QC metro, QC firestorm, or TDM/QC nonhahr
Sad
>fricking up helis with guided missiles
BF3 Chads, we were right all along
Did that tons in bf4. Its beyond satisfying. Doing it with helis to other helis and planes had people accusing a fella of hacking.
We just called it TOWing.
It was amazing doing that to the heli sweats and watching them ragequit immediately.
>The best WW2 Battlefield is the one Consolekiddies will never ever get to play
Does /k/ game just mean any video game with a real firearm at this point?
any game that most of /k/ played, or pretends to have played, and has nostalgia for.
I didn't play a whole ton. I sort of suck at shooting, so I was mostly just a heal bawd.
Is BF3 still active?
yeah, there are still couple active servers, alot of them actually get up to 25v25/32v32 depending on the map
I headshotted a heli pilot taking off on the assault ship from the construction site on Gulf of Oman remake. That was fricking awesome.
Nosehair Canals sucked, no clue why everybody liked it. Just a big open dock with a bunch of indestructible containers iirc
My stats appear to be off, which makes me wonder if I reset them at some point. I played more games than it indicates.
AAV was ridiculous.
There can only be one.
And I frick it up.
>IN THE MODERN WORLD
>GREAT LEADERS SOLVE THEIR CONFLICTS WITH WORDS
>WORDS LIKE...
>No irl terrorists will ever match the GLA's sheer charisma and testicles
how the frick do you even get bf3 to work, I got it on steam because I wanted to play it again and stupid ass browser battlelog does not want to launch the game at all
This is why I moved on to bf4, they added an ingame menu back into it (copied from BF1)
Use Microsoft Edge
I miss BF3 and 4. I miss my cute little LSAT too. Also miss stealing enemy T-90s because they had a great reticle for sitting in spawn and sniping. I wish we'd get that back but with modernized equipment and 5's fortification. Even better would be Foxhole style fortification and a foxhole/planetside style big war mode. Also want the damn privately run servers with actual admins back.
man the engineer getting the SCAR H was the most busted shit. Something about the recoil pattern would always land me a 3rd shot head shot and drop them.
reset my stats on bf3 a few times, notably after finally getting shitbucket colonel 100 since 2012 only like last year
bf4 had some resets too, just didnt give a shit, real kd is 2.4 though which is still subaverage
loved playing vehicles in both but bf4 had a better feel to it even though it was harder as armor
i have not posted in years, what the frick are these captchas now btw
>kd is 2.4 though which is still subaverage
>2.4
>subaverage
u wot m8?
>tfw banned from all the remaining PC servers for being good
admins with an inferiority ruined this game, otherwise it's a solid 9/10
>**NO AA NO STINGER**
BF3 was the only shooter besides CS 1.6 where I was a pubstomper.
What a throwback. Shame to see what has happened to the series. I hear 2042 has been a shitshow.
it has. I bought into the hype and regret it dearly
I did too, though on console. I don't even know what they were thinking. Has the dlc even come out yet?
yeah we're on DLC 2 now.
Arma 2 is where it’s at
as much as it annoys people, cod is the most /k/ game right now
Im gonna try the open beta but not buy it because I don't trust infinity ward or Activision.
bf series after bf2 is just tutorial for real shooter: red orchestra 1 and 2
