      >wastes all rockets on civilian targets
This has been the most confusing thing in this war. Why dafuq was the target acquisition so bad? All those missiles against civilian targets, not military targets. Wasted. And Kyiv still seems to have electricity and normal life going on.

Double wasted. And every 100 missile strike cost around $200-500M. WTFF

You jest, but the frequency of missile barrages has definitely slowed down. I bet the Russians themselves don't even know how many of what missiles they have. No doubt Ukrainians know even less about it.

it's called terror bombing and it didn't work 80 years ago either, but Russians are comically evil and just do whatever they think will cause the most suffering

Seriously though, you have shit missiles and sandBlack person drones.
Your goal is to convince your boss that you are breaking the Ukrainian nation.
What other targets than the power grid do you even have?
At least you can take a satellite photo and say lolololo piggies are freezing in the dark :*~~*~~)

      >Yes, Russia has run out for the 15th time, right?
Yes moron. You fire your current inventory and then you have to wait for more missiles to be manufactured or shipped from storage or purchased from someone else.

Even if you talk about 152mm artillery shells the battery and local logistics only have so many shells available to fire at a time and if you fire at a rate greater than the replenishment then you have to stop or slow firing until you get resupplied.

Is there another reason why Russia's lobbing so much fewer rockets and drones into Ukraine?

Not him, but I can imagine that they are saving them for the major offensive they are planning

The missile volleys in the initial offensive were only mildly effective while the attacks on infrastructure actually did something. It helped frick all on the ground but forced resources to be diverted towards the defense.
If they're saving them for another go, they shouldn't bother.

I've seen some /k/ommandos arguing that the Kherson retreat was unironically a very well conducted operation. That a lot of ruskie units were in serious danger of being destroyed or forced to surrender, and getting most of the men and equipment out intact was an accomplishment given the situation at that point.

Comparing to previous Russian exploits absolutely? First the elite units were cycled out for mobiks and in the end these guys were also evacuated in more or less orderly fashion and that's despite Ukrainians constantly bombarding the crossings

There’s an article about how Zelensky ordered his men to allow the Russians to withdraw to preserve manpower and prevent a city battle in Kherson.
Now Russia still shells Kherson from the other side of the river and those forces terrorize the Donbas.
        Political considerations are sometimes detrimental.

Why isn't there counter battery taking out those Russian guns on the other side of Kherson

            Anonymous

There are, they usually report artielry duels across the river. But I beleive that most of Ukrainian artilery is concentrated on the hot spots of the front not in the relatively safe Kherson.

      >the Kherson retreat was unironically a very well conducted operation
Sadly, yeah. Wish we got to see hundreds and hundreds of russkies float on the dnieper after their barge got sunk by an artillery strike, or getting gunned down as lines break and everybody dashes towards a bridge that acts as a chokepoint. But no, they actually retreated in good order.
Imagine if Kherson went as badly for them as Kharkiv. Ugh, what could have been...

As much as I hate R*ssians it was far from botched operation. Yes, they lost the city but they managed to save most of the important units and left Ukies close to none working armour and ammo depots on the right bank.
Compared to absolute shit show in Kharkiv this was actually well managed retreat from unsustainable positions.

Kherson was relatively well executed compared to Kharkiv, but it was also planned a long time in advance. The general going on tv telling Shoigu that it's time to retreat is obviously just theatrics, the decision was made weeks before.
It was obvious from weeks of footage of people and equipment being moved and the whole city being robbed of anything valuable
