No, the french and waffle Black folk fricking ruined it.
JMB's original design for a striker fired long slide high-cap pistol in a bottleneck high velocity cartridge was fricking based. Too based fir F(ucking)N(iggers) to actually produce.

        >Also, the trigger system of the BHP being half in the slide should make a lot more sense now.

We have no idea how it would've performed, but I can say it looks way more expensive to machine, and much bulkier than the Hi Power. Strikers are shit anyways, and the service record of the Hi Power suggests it's nowhere near as bad as you suggest. The prototype does look cooler though, has that art deco sort of styling.

Oh for some reason I always thought they were produced after 46 I flipped the radom manufacturing date in my head somehow.

I like Beretta for 9mm but the fact is that they are too heavy. Ounces = pounds.

Its very important to keep your gear as light as possible and that is where Glock wins over Beretta.

The weight is effectively negligible to most and if you are really concerned enough about weight at that point you wouldn't carry a pistol.

            Anonymous

I would drop the pistol and replace it with more nades and rifle mags.

But for daily carry its always better and more comfortable to have a lighter gun. If you have a heavy gun the chances are you wont have it on you when you need it because its not comfortable.

When the gun is light its easier to have it close at hand.

I daily carry a type 54 without a safety and never have felt it be uncomfortable.
Its svelte.how wide and long matters the most to a majority I meet thats why most people seem to choose lcp. Lcp is shit to shoot though.

The best gun for concealed carry is the gun that you can actually conceal, will actually carry, and will practice with regularly to achieve and maintain an appropriate level of proficiency with the deadly weapon you're carrying in public.
It doesn't matter how light a Glock is if shooting it feels like a second job that costs you money and you consistently make excuses to take literally anything else to the range instead.
Besides, micro compacts like the P365 body even the smallest Glocks on size and weight, so....

Can't load the magazines to full capacity without inducing malfunctions, the magazine disconnect "safety" exists and interferes with the feel of the trigger, hammer bite on some variants, shits itself and dies if you shoot too much 9mm +P through it
also yes, muh optic, muh WML; the future is now, old man—Berettas and 1911s are available with rails and optic cuts, what's the HP's excuse?

        Anonymous

You can take out the disconnect without issue and it becomes a non issue. I have yet to experience any issues with loading a magazine to 15 rounds, this is the first time I've even heard someone complain. If you get hammer bite either don't be fat or get a different hammer. If you shoot +p then putting in an 18lb recoil spring fixes the issue forever. Pistol optics are overrated unless passive aiming if you have to have a wml there are aftermarket options if you can't possibly use handheld. It still points and shoots more naturally than most other guns made today and isn't plastic

BHP with tangent sights is objectively the best looking and most soulful handgun ever made.

Tangent sights on handguns need to make a comeback. It looks like it's about the size of an SRO; just make it line up with a suppressor-height front sight and graduate it for 9mm out of a 4" barrel and people would eat it up

Browing was a overrated moron, his machine guns are all overly heavy and closed bolt, his BAR is useless in every role and outclasses by the CRSG, his pistol locking system are worse than rotating barrel or p-38 style short recoil counterparts, his shotguns were overly complex and open to dirt and his sporting puns weren't much better.

An ARX 100 is lighter than a typical AR of the same barrel length by more than a Glock is lighter than a Beretta; do you think ARs are too heavy, or are you just a Glockgay?

        >An ARX 100 is lighter than a typical AR

An ARX chambered in 5.56 is 6.8 lbs which is about the same as every other AR.

        >An ARX 100 is lighter than a typical AR of the same barrel length
No it's not. It weighs as much as a basic AR-15 with a heavy as frick full length aluminum quad rail. You don't even have to try to get an AR far lighter.

People carry 19/2011s and CZ75 variants which weigh much more than a Beretta. Berettas are metal but they're not steel. They're aluminium framed and they're the lightest metal frame pistols around. However I do agree with you that they're ultimately heavier than Glocks and can and is a factor for the ultralight crowd.

What's interesting though is that the comparison was to a Glock which is a striker fired pistol. Why not compare it to a HK P30? Not only are they both DA/SA They're even lighter than Glocks. If we're in a situation where we're talking rifles, the secondary doesn't even really matter, you could go with a P365, Hellcat or Glock 26 for all that matters. I find guns like 2011s or Berettas to be good for when you only have a pistol yet might have to encounter more than you'd like. Such as a cop or armed guard.
