So the program had serious issues in the 2012-2015 timeframe due to what can arguably be called corruption and a lack of focus, and now it's fixed

No, in the 2000-2009 phase. Bush let Lockheed and etc treat the DoD like the office coffee fund. Ash Carter came in cleaned house, demanded and got the promised deliverables without another red cent over the line, and clawed back over $500m from LM. It was the lulziest days in pentagon sending since the 80s, LM nearly went under and had to clean house.

USMC had a few cougars in Iraq.

US defense secretary reads a USMC report stating marines in cougar mrap didn't suffer casualties from ied attacks.

US orders 10,000 mrap on the spot, different designs, different companies.

In the next 5 years US fields over 12,000 brand new MRAP in Iraq and afghanistan.

      https://i.imgur.com/wnGrPBA.jpg

it's worse than that, the USMC commandant at the time (early GWOT) believed the Humvee with uparmor kit was good enough for the time being, so when the MRAPs were fielded they were fielded extremely quickly

The fact that they didn’t have something like the mrap earlier is one of the worse mistakes of the era. Iirc back in the 90s there were reports that the humvee was inadequate for roles it was being pushed into.

Amazing, with two simple words you've outed yourself as a brainless Black person.
The F-35B and C have airspeed limits when flying domestic training missions in order to extend the life of the F-35 fleet. No "stealth-negating modifications" are currently installed on operational aircraft due to the heating concerns.

In actual combat, there is no airspeed restriction.

supersonic is pretty common during 1v1 over water. it's not like you notice how fast you're going. mach .8 and mach 1.2 feel the same. it's more useful for getting somewhere fast. opening up your turning circle so much at higher speeds just isn't beneficial, and that's literally what dogfighting is. pass, turn around, pass, turn around.

                >The F-35B and C have airspeed limits when flying domestic training missions
The article that you linked says that pilots are still discouraged from using supersonic flight during military operations, "except for emergency situations". You copers keep saying that the F-35 being a subsonic aircraft doesn't matter when facing Mach 2+ threats like the J-20 because it has BVR missiles, but you ignore the fact that it needs to exceed the supersonic flight restrictions in order achieve BVR ranges with those weapons. Other non-gimped combat aircraft can dictate the terms of engagement by just flying away.

                >According to the documents, both incidents took place during flutter tests where the B and C models were flying at speeds of 1.3 Mach and 1.4 Mach. However, that damage didn’t occur in a vacuum, Flynn said. It materialized after F-35B and F-35C test articles flew repeated supersonic runs that pushed to the plane’s maximum of 1.6 Mach, making it the result of cumulative pressures on the aircraft.
                >“I was flying out at 700 knots in the C model up and down the East Coast of the state of Maryland and Delaware — that’s where we fly at Pax River — and then out over the ocean, firing missiles at almost 1.6 Mach as we cleared out the weapons for the airplane. That’s extreme speed, and that’s repeated flights in those environments,” said Flynn, who has flown more than 800 hours in all three F-35 variants.
                >But in wartime, Flynn said, pilots will do whatever is needed “to survive and to be effective”

So the restriction is only for training and normal military operations. Seems entirely reasonable to me. But an ESLhomosexuals like you can't determine the difference between discouraged and restricted. Its just to reduce maintenance costs.

Funny how you completely ignore the fact that those limits only apply to F-35B and C, which, after complete procurement, will account for approximately 25% of all F-35's

                >But those limitations must be placed in context, said Billie Flynn, the Lockheed Martin test pilot who flew both of those missions during F-35 developmental testing at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland.
Learn to read Black person, it's literally an interview with the person that flew the test sorties that resulted in the airspeed restriction being instituted, and is further backed up by the JPO downgrading them from cat 1 deficiencies. That's completely different than some homosexual from Jalopnik or wherever talking about shit he doesn't understand in order to pull clicks.
                >emergency limitations
"But in wartime, Flynn said, pilots will do whatever is needed “to survive and to be effective” — even if that means disregarding time restrictions and pushing the plane to its maximum performance."
Where does he mention it only being allowed during emergencies?

                >You copers keep saying that the F-35 being a subsonic aircraft
The F-35A is not at all limited to subsonic flight. The other two variants are still supersonic fighters, even with the training limitation in place, as they're cleared past M1.0. refer to the chart here

Proof? Oh wait, you pulled it out of your ass. A large number (probably even a majority) of BVR engagements in the past 30 years were performed at transonic or subsonic speeds. Information networking and sensor capability is far more important than airspeed for modern air combat. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxK6O5--9Z0&list=FLhqNnmDJ4oHNmWFmvjiU-AQ&index=725)
