Most probably quick mechanized probing attack that was partially successful so they are epxanding from there.

In the event that Russians lose Nova kakhovka it will force Russians to resupply 30-40k troops with single bridge and pontoon. I don't think they will stay in Kherson after that

That's true but they are still like 30km from Nova Khakovka. But it is much better idea then the siege of Kherson.

NATO has spent a fraction of a fraction of its arsenal, they were preparing themselves to hold back the full might of the Soviet Union, they have produced at least as much as they did, then you have to factor in all the soviet surplus from countries like Poland and Ukraine itself that are now fighting on the West's side.

Honestly, for now I guess it is Ukrainians trying to put stress on the Russian defenses by making light probing attacks and advance here they can. Goal is to take a bit of turf for cheap if possible and put strain on the Russian war machine and at the same time take out their supply lines so that the Russians run low on ammo and fuel and then take it from there.

Tanks only run out of gas when they’re pushing so aggressively they outstrip their supply lines. From week one the Russians have been pushing further than even they had anticipated. I personally feel like their initial intentions were to only have a two week shoving match, but after how Ukraine crumpled in their initial push, secondary objectives were added or time tables were moved up while they had the momentum. Hitting cities is also a distraction. If Russia wanted them, Russia would take them. It is entirely safe to say that if the media is saying Russia is losing the fight, Russia is winning it handily. But hey, what the frick do I know.

I'm sorry, but did Russia already lose? Oh, that's right. The special military operation isn't even over yet. In fact, it's only been six months. Does gaining and then losing significant ground in two months count as a loss? Is that what you're saying? Because if you're saying that I can assure you that you're wrong. Why would you make this topic when the special military operation is still on? Russia is still on the offensive right now and they have been the best military in the world for how many years now? They're fighting one of the worst militaries in the world who just happen to have a lead because they're feeding off the energy of NATO supplies. But you know what? They still fricking suck. Russia is one of the best fricking countries in the world, they took Crimea in 2014 and would have taken the rest of Ukraine if they weren't feeling merciful. Maybe you should shut the frick up before you make moronic topics like this. You know why? Because you're going to be embarrassed when Russia wins and someone bumps this topic. Oh look at that, Ukraine just lost another village when they needed to get one, just like America did. Are you a fricking drunk? Are you moronic? Are you autistic? You are a fricking idiot and you should never make a topic on this board again and I'm fricking serious. I almost have a feeling you're the only guy making all these anti-Russia topics because you're a homosexual hater who doesn't like the country because they're good. Frick you, be good at something in YOUR life and then maybe try to troll these fricking nations on the board, like I give a frick. It's so easy to spot out your threads now, you're a moron. Always doing stupid shit like this. Why don't you try to be a good poster? Just for once? For once in your fricking life try not to make a topic like this. That's just you, you're always right at getting it wrong. Frick you. You are nothing.

Fair enough, but Japan was considered a joke at the time. If Mexico and the US fight until they're both about to collapse, it means the US is humiliated while Mexico just fought like hell.

              >, but Japan was considered a joke at the time.
I wouldn't necessarily say a joke. Britain and the United States, both watched Japan's modernization and had good examinations about their capabilities, especially the US/Brits because they've always been worried about a naval power Japan fricking up the pacific, and for the US the Brits and Japs teaming up.

Racism sure did make it easier for those in power to look down on them like Wilhelm, Russia, France, and stuff. But for others like the US and Brits they could see the writing on the wall and had to plan for it.

Also "give up the huge territories you've invested in for decades because you're about to collapse" and "be satisfied with taking Manchuria and Korea because you're about to collapse" isn't quite the same as just making a status quo peace because you can't go on.
I think the only concession Russians got is that they didn't have to pay war reparations to the aggressor who halved their far east colonial empire.

Japan was playing "at home" while the only way for Russia to bring anything east was the French-paid Transsiberian, with only one track subject to jams, damage and over two weeks to reach the far east.
There's a story about a Russian general stopping his train overnight to dine somewhere, causing all the reinforcements following him to be delayed for days.
There's a book on it: "Railways and the Russo-Japanese War: Transporting War" by Felix Patrikeeff and Harry Shukman
The imperial navy had a very hard time travelling around the world.
Russian incompetence played a decisive role too, so did their understimation of Japan, which they would continuously mock.
Comparing raw numbers is meaningless, this is what "analysts" did when they predicted a Ukrainian route in the first 72 hours.

Russia is winning. And you trash cope by pretending that they’re losing. And when Ukraine signs a ceasefire in the near future with nothing or almost nothing taken back — I know EXACTLY how you’re going to cope. You’re going to pretend you knew Russia was going to win all along. You’ll flip to that position instantly and without the slightest hesitation. Because you trash actually don’t CARE you’re just here for social rewards.

Capitalism has destroyed the west. Thankfully. Russia's military victory over the entire collective west is the result of privately monopolized means of production and overprized weapons only being sold, in low quantities, for massive selfish profit. it is refreshing to see superior systems win out against inferior ones. Wars have always been the main driver of evolution and human progress. The greed based systems of the west may come to an end and so may the wicked monarchical rule through manipulation lies and deception. There is hope that the world may see the first real democracies emerge one day. Russia and China are building a strong global community which will challenge and gradually dismantle the power of the western oligarchy. They are tyrannies in their own right but useful in unfreezing the system that humanity is trapped in.

I think its more the failures of Russia in this war and the slow pace of their successes. All while being a much wealthier and more populus country that shares mtiple borders and already occupies a significant part of the defending country. The Russians also had what 8 years to prepare for this and how much more hardware? Nevermind things like an actual navy.

Russia buying 100% of global amuunition supply for Ukraines guns, or blowing up ammo reserves in eastern Europe(without consequences)
Germany sending Russia 1billion a day to war chest for gas through corrupt German gazprom politicians
Ukraine absolutely flooded with fsb, compromised politicians etc to execute Ukraine's leadership day1.
Exploits Belarus puppet as neutral by sending invading Russia troops / using it's air space to launch cruise missiles without them at risk of being attacked

This is why Russians aren't going to abandon Kherson. Defeat on the battlefield usually means trouble at home for any ruler, and Russia has a notable history in this regard. Don't expect a sweeping Ukrainian offensive followed by a Russian rout across the Dnipro.

Kinda important to control the mouth of the dniepr. Also would have been the jumping off point for a new invasion to capture Odessa. It's the most strategically important land Russia has taken.

HIMARs and other platforms will reach the tail end of crimea, and it will force them to keep a chunk of the army in position right next to the river because they have 0 strategic positions on the other side of kershon's part of the dnipro.

If they don't defend, ukrs will have open ground to disrupt all crimea supply lines. Total collapse is highly unlikely, but it can severely frick russian efforts up.

Kiev was a very ambitious offensive with the goal of ending the war in a few weeks. It wasn't worth it to keep going once they realize they couldn't achieve their goals. That is completely fine when you consider a war like this has not happened in a very long time.
If they lost kherson it would be really embarassing because taking kherson is still one of their biggest achievments in this war and loosing ground in an offensive war that you have claimed to be winning is also a big problem.
I would love to see chuggers try to copium their way out of loosing kherson but I doubt hohols can take it.

Who knows what's happening. According to Strelkov the UA offensive failed on all directions, with heavy losses in Sukhoi Stavka and Blagodatovka.

    >29/08 Kherson front update from RU/separatist former commander Igor Strelkov "Girkin"
    Inhulets river bridgehead area:
On 30/08 UA forces pushed back to almost starting positions with heavy losses Sukhoi Stavka and Blagodatovka, however UA firmly holding Andriivka and Lozovoe.
    >Therefore one can say that UA offensive action that started on 29/08 failed on all directions - at least for now. Fighting in this area is continuing, both sides are exchanging massive rocket and artillery fire, early morning Black Sea RU navy fleet fired missiles.

APU armored vehicles destroyed in the Mykolaiv-Krivoy Rog direction

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost over 100 armored vehicles during the offensive against the positions of the Russian Armed Forces and another attempt to recapture Kherson.

The armored groups involved in the Armed Forces of Ukraine were formed mainly from Soviet equipment of NATO countries that were previously part of the Warsaw Pact bloc. We are talking about the Polish T-72, Polish, Czech and Slovak BMP-1 and BMP-2, which have undergone modernization.

Reserves in the Mykolaiv-Krivoy Rog direction have been created since the beginning of summer. In parallel, driver mechanics were trained at Ukrainian training grounds, as well as motorized rifle units in the UK.

Right now, the strategic reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are burning in the Kherson steppes under the fire of artillery and missile strikes by allied forces.

Are you afraid to face the truth? Are you afraid to see how the Ukrainian forces were destroyed in a futile attempt to attack Kherson? Ukraine has suffered huge losses for yesterday and today. Polish tanks were also destroyed. And what did they get? A few villages that they will soon give back, as usual. They are still Sooooo far from Kherson.

The results of the APU offensive on the Kherson front — 1,700 dead over 1.5 km of captured land

The offensive of the Kiev forces on the Kherson front completely failed — the AFU units were almost everywhere forced to return to their original positions. The initial plan of Kiev, apparently, implied converging strikes from the Andreevka area and the front near Vysokopol with a connection near Berislav. Thus, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine wanted to encircle the forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation east of Novaya Kakhovka.

Near Vysokopol, Kiev decided to use its reserves, which it had been preparing for so long. Tank brigades, previously based in Krivoy Rog, apparently went into battle. They were equipped with modernized Polish T-72 tanks.

But relatively modern equipment did not help the APU in this direction — the Kiev brigades rested on the solid defense of Russian personnel units, with powerful artillery support, which hit the squares that had been shot in advance. The tactics of Russian actions in general have not changed much since the Kursk Bulge. Artillery cuts off infantry from tanks with a barrage, tanks without infantry become blind and are destroyed by anti-tank weapons. Only burning (https://t.me/voenacher/28087 ) now not German "Tigers", but Polish "Twardy".

      Anonymous

In the Andreevka-Lozovoye area, the offensive of the AFU units was more successful, as they attacked across the Ingulets River, from an unexpected direction. On the other side of the river, the Kiev units were met by mobilized infantry with questionable combat qualities (any mobilized units lose to personnel). She retreated, and the AFU units were able to advance 5 km and enter Sukhoi Stavka without a fight.

However, the course of events was further determined by the competently built mobile defense of the Russians — the reserves of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, paratroopers on BMD with the support of tanks and artillery immediately moved to the place of the breakthrough. In addition, having entered the breakthrough, parts of the AFU broke away from their air defense umbrella — the Russian Aerospace Forces worked on them.

Everything predetermined the outcome of the breakthrough — the Kiev units were quickly knocked out (https://t.me/hercon_ru/2604 ) from Sukhoi Stavka and retreated to positions in Andreevka and Lozove. There are forest plantations there, which simplifies the APU defense of villages.

As a result of the offensive, the AFU units occupied two villages — Andreevka and Lozove, advancing 1.5 kilometers. At the same time, they lost 1,700 people and more than 100 armored vehicles.

The lack of official information from the General Staff and a complete vacuum in social networks leads to the fact that the only sources are the reports of Western intelligence services and regional telegram channels. The start of operation #Battle_za_herson was a failure, which explains the deathly silence of the speakers of the President's Office and the prohibition of journalists to be on the front line.

Our Kremlin source reports that we should not expect a counteroffensive of the Russian Armed Forces in the Mykolaiv-Kherson direction now, the reason is not that they do not want or cannot, the reason is more strategic.
When there are counter–offensives, and of course at this moment there are significant losses on both sides, since counter-offensives are a "meat grinder". This was the situation in Severodonetsk. Then, these losses are written off quickly, and no one will remember about them, due to the fact that there is a threat of a breakthrough and loss of territory, and immediately all information focuses are aimed at mobilizing society for defense. In the Severodonetsk loop, as well as now, the "Kiev office" led the entire offensive, but then they were lucky, the Russian Armed Forces chose tactics not just to "shoot down" the AFU counteroffensive, but also to squeeze it out. The APU had a lot of losses at that time, Zelensky himself confirmed about thousands of wounded and killed a day. But this did not launch a message in society, and why was it necessary to throw the horsemen into a frontal offensive without artillery and aviation, when they had already tactically retreated saving personnel and weapons?

      Anonymous

Now the Russians have a plan B, you create a "wall" against which your opponent breaks at great speed, incurring heavy losses, but at the same time not getting results. At the same time, you do not go on the offensive, which is paradoxical, but thereby you do not give a trump card to the "Kiev office", quickly shift the information focus from your "frick @". This triggers an internal case study when society begins to ask the question, why was it sent to an open field, and which are still mined, without the support of art and aviation, thousands of soldiers and hundreds of heavy equipment. At the same time, knowing that your opponent knows that you are preparing this offensive, which means he is preparing "surprises" for you. This scenario is much scarier for Zelensky and Ermak than getting a counteroffensive and then telling them that with their "cunning" offensive they prevented a larger-scale Russian strike.

Our source reports that Zelensky was warned that the actions of the Russians in the Kherson direction could be a trap, a lure. When an opponent plays along with you, creating a false trail for you that everything is going according to plan.
If we continue the offensive and intensify the onslaught, then there is a possibility of running into even greater losses in manpower, as well as the internal demoralization of soldiers.
    Zelensky has a difficult situation.
After all, if you stop the offensive, then all the opponents are right that it was "Hollywood", and if you continue and do not significantly expand the territorial success, with heavy losses, and even then run into a counterattack of the Russian Federation, then this will launch a case inside the country. We have been insiding on July 27 (https://t.me/legitimniy/13007 ), that Yermak/Zelensky were aware that the Russians were preparing a "trap" for the AFU, but demanded that Zaluzhny launch an offensive.

So the other day, I was playing rainbow six siege, and I heard one of my teammates make a callout in the voice chat. It was a real life gamer girl. God, I kid you not, I just stopped playing and pulled my dick out. “frick, Frick!” I was yelling in voice chat. I just wanted to hear her voice again. “Please,” I moaned. But she left the lobby. I was crying and covered in my own cum, but I remembered that I could find recent teammates in the ubiplay friends tab. I frantically closed down siege and opened the tab, to find out she had TTV IN HER NAME!!! She was streaming, and only had 100 viewers!!! The competition was low, so I made the first move and donated my months rent to her. I was already about to pre. She read my donation in the chat. God this is the happiest I’ve been in a long time. wiener and ball torture (CBT), occasionally known as penis torture, dick torture, or male genitorture/male genital torture, is a sexual activity involving the application of pain or constriction to the penis or testicles. This may involve directly painful activities, such as genital piercing, wax play, genital spanking, squeezing, ball-busting, genital flogging, urethral play, tickle torture, erotic electrostimulation, kneeing or kicking. The recipient of such activities may receive direct physical pleasure via masochism, or emotional pleasure through erotic humiliation, or knowledge that the play is pleasing to a sadistic dominant. Many of these practices carry significant health risks.

Both Pro-Ukrainian and Pro-Russian mil bloggers are both reporting that the Russians launched their own counter attack during the night you waste of fricking oxygen.

neither side has enough night vision to fight at night.

Ukrainians have a lot of nods, Russians don't. They have to use the optics on their tanks, and even then the T62s mostly no longer have functional night vision because of poor storage conditions.

Yes they do, and they've done that multiple times in this war already. Even national guard and TDF units had nods in situations where Russian infantry did not near Sumy, Kyiv, and Kharkiv. There is no reason to believe they have not been receiving and disseminating more.

        ukies have quite some actually
not enough for everyone, but they can easely equip few squads for night ops or give it to night watch.

If you're blindfolded and getting your dick sucked, you're in a superposition of it being simultaneously gay and not gay, since you don't know if it's a guy sucking your dick or a girl. Therefore it would be logical to assume that both cases are true, and that the quantum system (you getting sucked off) is in multiple states (gay and not gay) at once: the very definition of a superposition. The moment you remove the blindfold, this system collapses, as you are making a measurement as to whether or not a guy or a girl is sucking you off; whether or not it's gay. This irreversibly destroys the superposition, as even if you put the blindfold back on, the uncertainty is no longer present.

An attempt by the Zelensky regime to resume offensives in the Nikolaevo-Krivorozhskoe and other directions failed.
Unsuccessful attacks on the settlements of Arkhangelskoye, Olgino and Terny Podi left the enemy with heavy losses and driven back by the Russian troops. A battalion of the 57th AFU Motorized Infantry Brigade was defeated near the village of Sukhoy Stavok. The destruction of its remnants is nearing completion.
Twelve tanks supplied to the Kiev regime by Poland were ferried across the Ingulets River to unblock the AFU units. A powerful fire attack by Russian troops destroyed some of the tanks. Several tanks exploded on their own minefields during the indiscriminate retreat. Only five Ukrainian tanks managed to make it back deep into AFU-controlled territory.
During two days of unsuccessful attacks in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog and other directions, Ukrainian troops lost four combat aircraft: two Su-25s, one Su-24 and one MiG-29. Three Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters were shot down in the air. Russian forces destroyed 63 Ukrainian tanks, 59 infantry fighting vehicles, 48 other armored fighting vehicles, 14 pickup trucks with large-caliber machine guns, and over 1,700 Ukrainian servicemen.

Putting together fragmentary reports from yesterday with today, I think events went down something like this:
    1. Kherson offensive taking a long time to form
    2. Ukrainians launch a probing attack / recon in force
    3. Repulsed by Russians and separatists
    4. Since they were mobilized the Russians decided to carry the momentum forward and push into Ukrainian starting positions
    5. Ukrainians launch the full offensive in response to try and take back the faltering initiative and claim a decisive victory

I wonder what’s up with this aggressive attitude all of a sudden? Is the ukorps facing major political pressure to show results? How important is this offensive politically?

Its a fact. Germany and france would prefer them not to and would love a stalemate. USA knows their limited capabilities and would rather have ukies maximize bleeding out the russians instead of risking their equipment.

By all pf the fricking political elite of the west. "Zelensky is pressured to attack or no more support" is just plain vatnik propaganda, and most of the west is doubtful of their capabilities to take back anything and fear taht it would just waste Ukrained strength in vain.

Indeed, because the west sure as hell isnt going to say Ukraibe isnt allowed to try to take its territories back. You know, becaus its their territory. Because unlike vatnik propaganda says, Ukraine is not run by the west, and is free to do plenty of shite on its own will.
