Its honestly impressive one godforsaken chunk of rock can be such a goddamned problem in regards to anything nuclear related. At least now they can’t just bury it all, like Kyshtym, of which they admitted when saying to the UN they had experience in cleaning up major disasters before. Truly the gift that keeps giving.

Cant wait till classic russian incompetence manages to detonate plastic explosives from the 1960's with RDX crystals the size of shoguis wood collection, blowing up the spent fuel containment facility to bits with the water pumps and all of the aux shit RBMK style, if russians have two braincells interconnected which at this point is debatable, they powered down the reactor and the only thing to worry about is leaks due to fuel getting out, ether due to damages to the facility, russian grunts trying to sell nuke material to durkas and norks, or just russians looting everything, including Hispanicy metal rods that make your pubes fall off if you keep it in your pocket

              >detonate plastic explosives from the 1960's with RDX crystals the size of shoguis wood collection
RDX is stable. The scenario you're describing is what used to happen with antique dynamite made with nitroglycerin. It doesn't happen with RDX based plastic explosives.

                Anonymous

Isint RDX mixed with a plasticizer and also tends to crystallize out of the plasticizer over time ?

                Anonymous

RDX crystals are stable, unlike nitroglycerin crystals. The purpose of the plasticizer is to make the explosive conveniently plastic, e.g. mold-able. This is different from classic dynamite, which uses a sort of clay to stabilize the notoriously temperamental nitroglycerin.

Russia is unironically way more aggressive than the SU was. Here, they're basically holding the plant hostage to facilitate the war effort. If it goes kaboom, due to accident or them wanting to go scorched earth, they could deal pretty much permanent damage to the soil of Europe.
Do you want the ability to do permanent damage to the planet as acceptible precedent during war? No. So you declare war with the intent of getting them to retreat out of Ukraine. Simple.

That was a bit different. It was faulty manufacturing and incompetence that led to the meltdown. This is caused by Russia knowing shelling a nuclear plant

They're not actually shelling it, but they're preventing them from performing maintenance, draining the cooling pools and storing ammo inside the reactor chambers. So that if you fire on the site, there's a chance it will blow.
Even if the site is missile proofed, it probably cannot take an ammo dump explosion.

There's a good official cold war era US survival manual pdf for this but fuck if I can remember which one, I'm sure someone here knows the one I mean. I know I have a copy somewhere but I can't look through my unsorted storage media right now to find it, it could take hours.

2 week supply of canned food and bottled water for the entire family, don't sleep near walls, tape airgaps. After a week or so brush any dust off your pathway, wear a mask, even a damp rag will do in a pinch and pray an evac is coming. Make a little decontamination room near your entrance where you can doff clothes from outside to keep from tracking shit all over your home. Essential shit, torch, radio, lighters for if gas supply is cut.

Check out the ration General whenever you see one, some chaps here will make their own preserved rice and bean MREs which are pretty neat. Dont forget you'll need water for hygiene too.

I mean, this already happened after Chernobyl and while there were consequences such as forcing the slaughter of tens of thousands of reindeers and telling everyone not to pick berries and mushrooms, a complete breakdown in freshwater supply or something of similar weight is completely unrealistic.

Ukrainians have shown that post-Soviet Slavs can adapt and reform to some extent, but the Russians blatantly refuse to, and even double down on their backward self-victimization where their only outlet is pull everyone else down instead of try to fix themselves. Sure we will, as we become more developed and the Western world continues to decay, we'll get increasingly favorable deals until it tips in our favour. And once you filthy Neanderthals run out of your stolen wealth...well that's a while off yet 🙂

Good luck getting to Europe. Italy has fallen to the right wing who've not afraid to shoot down refugee boats, and if you come by plane you'll simply be sent back. And with regards to the USA - good luck getting over the ocean.

                *glug glug*

Oh no a bunch of incels temporarily took power in one European country, what a tragedy.

And who are the slave owners? It's not Westerners. It really appears to be unscrupulous leaders in the third world enslaving their own people for their monetary gain.
But you don't want us to invade them to correct those wrongs either. You don't want us to cut them off from aid or funding or business. You don't want us to support freedom movements. You don't want to do anything except bitch at us. You're even more hypocritical than we are, because at least we don't pretend to be those poor enslaved fags friends, and we would invade and free them if we could. But we can't, because of people like you.

Immediate NATO intervention. Another Chernobyl would kill the European continent just as surely as nuclear war would, it'd just take longer. In such a case NATO would literally have nothing to lose.

Intervention, based on wind patterns there is a likely chance that destroying the nuclear plants will contaminate NATO nations
It's also a "do not negotiate with terrorists" situation. If Russia can destroy the reactors and face no punishmens, why would they not do it again? Simple fact of the matter is. The only appropriate response is to bury their military so completely that the earth will turn over a thousand times before their bodies are dug up.
