Yes. You only have to look at procurement for both countries over the last five years. The Valor is the most recent example that should have clued you in. Japan, S Korea, the Phillipines and Australia are all girding

The US is fully pivoting towards Asia and is buffing is multinational military alliance in the SE Asian and Oceania.
China is rapidly building a blue water guided missile navy and should spit out its best B-2 imitation copy in the next few years. China is building lots of Ballistic Missiles and appears to be trying to win a stand off missile lobbing contest with the USN.

It seems pretty asinine how China's plan appears to be "defeat America, and also every other country in Asia simultaneously"

Indeed, China has to merely get lucky on every diplomatic condition in order to maybe 1v1 America

Indeed, China has to merely get lucky on every diplomatic condition in order to maybe 1v1 America

Fortunately, in their great Wolf Warrior Wisdom, China themselves have declared they are hostile to Taiwan, hostile to Japan, hostile to South Korea, hostile to Indonesia, hostile to Malaysia, hostile to Vietnam, hostile to Australia, hostile to the Philippines and hostile to India, and dealing with America will be a cakewalk once those losers are all cleared out

Yeah they shit their own bed in almost the exact way putin did.
This is a problem with nationalist authoritarianism, though. If you keep telling you’re citizens they’ve been wronged by the Other, and the State is powerful with a big military that will right those wrongs, then eventually you produce True Believers. Some of those True Believers eventually become part of the State, and many more become part of civil society. So now members of the State are acting like everyone is an antagonist and a large section of your population is demanding redress for humiliations. So the Believers in the State start acting aggressively, because they truly believe that they’re powerful enough to write the wrongs. The other is the Other.
You can kind of see where China is successful is mainly where they are farthest away from and have the least ties to a region historically, because there’s no nationalist influence. They’re steadily gaining political ground in latam and the Middle East and parts of Africa. But it really won’t matter in the coming conflict.
The other problem with a State with True Believers making up the civil society is that if your State appears weak from losing to the Other those Believes will turn on the State

thats exactly what china has acheived though. the mutually shared threat of china has them cooperating when they otherwise would not have.

The Taiwanese submarine project is seeing cooperation from "the US, UK, Australia, South Korea, Japan, India, Spain and Canada" which is... an odd collection of countries but also a major signal that the entire world seems to have given up on decades of neglecting Taiwan to Protect Chinese Feelings

Well China has been trying to drive wedges between allies, but they've been too belligerent recently and nations are pulling back together. Philippines rebuilding its military relation the US is a huge blow in particular to China's Taiwan ambitions.

      >a blue water guided missile navy
Entirely petrol fueled and incapable of keeping the Malacca Straight open. These goblins want a nuclear war and will open on Taiwan, Japan, and/or the USA with nukes. They're not normal, 'sane' people, but gamblers backed up against the wall.

"Now, it seems like we are in the same critical period as the “horses were drinking water” in the Yangtze River days in the revolutionary era, as long as we resolve the United States problem at one blow, our domestic problems will all be readily solved. Therefore, our military battle preparation appears to aim at Taiwan but in fact is aimed at the United States, and the preparation is far beyond the scope of attacking aircraft carriers or satellites." — Defense Minister Gen. Chi Haotian (2003)

    Yes.
Whites believe they own the world and are willing to kill anyone who disagrees.
    The Chinese disagree.

Balikatan exercises is just a glorified PR stunt for both America and the Philippines.

US servicemen get to slay SEA pussy while Pinoys get to gawk at high tech military equipment that they will never possess since military procurement has never been a priority of their government.

China seethes over the event, America gets to pat itself at the back for showing off their military force while the Philippines gets acclimated to 21st century warfare.

China doesn't want allies and partners, they want vassals and tributes to what they consider "lesser nations".

Includes SoKor and Japan as well.

There were huge arms build ups during the cold war too and nothing ever happened. Both sides have more to lose than they have to gain from a war anyways.
