37 longbow radars... I think it's a bit much, no? Isn't the ratio 1/4 (1 longbow for 4 non-lingbow) in USA?

Remember when they destroyed the ZP dam and drowned their own army?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dnieper_Hydroelectric_Station

        >The flooding surge killed 20,000 to over 100,000 civilians, as well as Red Army officers who were crossing over the river.[10] It was partially dynamited again by retreating German troops in 1943[11] although another source states the German attempt to do so was thwarted by the Soviets.[12] In the end, the dam suffered extensive damage, and the powerhouse hall was nearly destroyed. Both were rebuilt between 1944 and 1949.

It's almost as if there was this notable leader in the glorious Soviet Union that had a policy of mixing up borders (i.e. Giving German lands to Poland and Polish lands to Ukraine & Lithuania) with the intent of countries squabbling with each other instead of looking at the one orchestrating it. Can't remember who would do such a thing.

Another example of doctrine being stuck 30 years in the past.
But there is nothing to worry about.
After all the colonial wars in the middle east have shown how easy war is and sithole slap fights between Iran-Irak in the 80s and Ukraine-Russia recently are not signs of the wars to come just like the Russo-Jap war before 1914.

You're a fucking imbecile if you think America isn't profiting from this massively. They are the biggest winner in all of this. You clearly don't understand history. The Marshall Plan isn't a new concept, and it was and is one of the dominating factors in US rise to the level of a global superpower. Post WWII they made bank, made allies, and are doing the same thing again. Before this war Europe was getting cozy and sentiments towards America were shifting over the last few years to "We don't need America". That changed massively with the war.

But all you care about are hamburgers you fat fuck. If you want money to go towards things like improving American infrastructure, that doesn't come out of a military budget. It's a budget that already exists that your politicians drip feed you out of a bag. Put the blame where it deserves to be instead of sitting on your fat ass like a slob talking about geopolitics and history that you know fuckall about

Because the US aid going to Ukraine is foreign aid money that was earmarked for this kind of shit anyway, and the weapons we are sending to Ukraine are getting paid for at sticker price to replace them with brand new shit.

So even though we are sending old hardware, Ukraine is paying us (using money we sent them) full value for old equipment.

Ostensibly it's a great deal, less than 1/10th of the yearly military budget has been sent to Ukraine, but again a large chunk of that money comes right back to the US buying new replacement shit for the old stuff we sent to Ukraine.

If you don't understand how this helps our economy, gives more people jobs, AND updates our military hardware all at the same time while looking Russians at the cost of no American lives, you're probably just a moron.

Poland thinks that any and all of their allies could at any moment do a 1939 and just sit by as russia attacks them. Which frankly isn't even all that impossible - western europe is soft and old, america is one bad election from a civil war. They also think germany secretly hates them and would at least hinder efforts of others to help, if not join in themselves. Hence they want the capacity to 1v1 russia. Which considering recent events appears very doable, so why not.

Still more rocket artillery than the US thoughever, which is p. funny

        Anonymous

        No they don't.

They are buying 18 HIMARS launchers and a few thousand missiles to go with.

They are also buying 288 Chunmoo launchers from South Korea, with ~28,000 missiles to go with.

That is a confirmed total of 306 launchers and ~30,000 missiles.

In 2021 the US army had 363 HIMARS launchers and the Marines had 47 launchers.
Lockheed has also increased production from the pre-war 48 units per year to 96 going forward, and the US army appears to be buying ~20+/year for the foreseeable future.

This isn't even to mention the m270 MLRS which the US army is upgrading 225 of those to a new standard as of 2019 for PrSM. They're also upgrading an additional 160 that were previously deactivated.

tldr; no poland does not have more rocket artillery than the US.

The US still has multiple times over the rocket artillery available to Poland.

Wasn't the original plan something ridiculous like 500 HIMARS launchers?

            Anonymous

They wanted 500 but the US was only producing 48/year at that point so it would've taken AGES for the orders to go through, even when Lockheed announced they were increasing to 96/year it still would've taken a fair bit of time to deliver all 500 + whatever the US was ordering.

Since SK was already trying to woo Poland on SPGs, Tanks, and fighter jets, adding on some rocket artillery wasn't a stretch.
