according Kiel and the USA has 47.819 billion euros in aid. after adding up all euro countries (including turkey) Europe is about 26.066 billion euros in aid.so idk where you think europe is sending more aid than the USA.

EU countries and institutions total nearly 52 billion euros in military, financial and humanitarian assistance until November 20. The commitments made by the U.S. add up to just under 48 billion euros. The main reason for the changes is an 18-billion-euro Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) package agreed by the EU for 2023.

Canada is much bigger than the US and arguably has more resources, so if we're going by the size argument, shouldn't the leaves be doing more than the brits?

                Anonymous

Size area and population are important factors to consider but so is money spent on their military. Canada spends much less of its GDP on their military and much of its land mass is heavily forested and sparsely populated. It has about 1/10th the population of the US. There is more to comparing than landmass and resources. Its why comparing the EU to the US actually works and comparing the EU to Canada doesnt.

                [...]
It is stupid to compare them because half of Europe was under a communist dictatorship until 3 decades ago meaning the western part has to make up for that. It really shouldn't be anywhere close due to the comparable population sizes.

Its still a reasonable comparison to make even with that argument. The only real contender that is even close to the US in terms of GDP population and actual real world military prowess is the EU. China is gaining ground but who knows how much of that is a bunch of blowhard bullshit that doesnt stand up. We dont know.

EU is a strong force to be sure and probably easily second place if they can coordinate properly but they lack the versatility and sheer ability to project power like the US. Much of the EU forces are localized defense forces and dont have the capability to do something such as perform military action on the other side of the planet for any extended period of time effectively. Its not a bad thing considering they are only dealing with defense of a relatively small portion of the planet. The US has to secure the largest amount of coastal areas out of anyone and the second largest raw amount of landmass only losing to Russia who actually have an easier time of it since much of theirs is tundra only accessible via the arctic. To secure so much requires immense logistical capability.

A lot of people jerk off over the fancy toys and tech of the US military and many of them are incredible but the real star of the show is their logistical capability which is absurd.

Basically the EU have borrowed money to lend to Ukraine, then they split the share between EU nations so they could add the respective amount to the Aid Donation Chart.
It's nothing to do with military aid or even to use right now it's just for help rebuilding.

              Yes, but no.
America has given the most individually, the EU has given more combined, Britain is not second place as Germany has given more if you factor in its contributions through EU funds, collections and special donations. EU contributions also consist out of military materiel and not just money (though it is mostly money) and it's not just for rebuilding.

I mean people earlier in the thread were saying it's a chink/pajeet thread, and the only people i know on /k/ that throw around "mutt" liberally are the pajeets so yeah. To be honest i have no idea why pajeets would be pro russia when russia is becoming a CCP puppet state.

              >mean people earlier in the thread were saying it's a chink/pajeet thread,
OP definitely didn't post this in good faith. If he would have he could have easily found a better graph to illustrate his point on the same website by just scrolling a bit further down because knew statistic directly compares EU and Americdn contributions.

I just find it funny we get this types of threads that supposed to bring division in NATO and the west, seems rather slimly if you asked me.

The only thing they are going to divide is a bunch of fricking schizos anyway who are best off ignored.

                >Germany has ditched any and all imports of russian fuel
                false
                you're dumb.

                >False impression
Nothing I said is false fren it's right there on the chart. Notice the post you replied to said military aid which is the blue bar on

                https://i.imgur.com/9Nw3Fw7.jpg

Ignore the Orange look at the Blue it's just the EU trying to look cool
Picrel is a more accurate graph for the current situation it factors out stupid loans for post war rebuilding that has nothing to do with right now

                this chart.
Even with the EUs €18bn MFA spread between the EU nations that doesn't change the fact the UK has donated much more military hardware than Germany. Germany may be number 2 now but that's only through the EUs Post war funding package which has nothing to do with Military aid like I mentioned in my first post anon.
