Unironically, why do people hate Taurus so much? I bought a G2 and haven't had any issue with it.

Unironically, why do people hate Taurus so much? I bought a G2 and haven't had any issue with it. If anything, I've seen people have just as many, if not more, issues with name brand guns like Glock, Smith and Wesson, etc. Why pay at least double the price for basically the same gun?

Yes any gun can fail and every brand has a model that just plain sucks. Taurus isn't the only brand that has hiccups...

he was shooting reloads. you can blow any gun up with titegroup. it takes a hilariously bad engineering team to design a modern pistol where there is the potential for the gun to go off just by being shaken. taurus has a few good guns including the g2 tcp and tx22 but overall they are much more hit or miss than glock and s&w

Correct, I'm just saying for a brand like Glock that says it can handle just about any type of ammunition you throw at it, I've seen plenty of failures like that vid. My point being is that I don't think brand names are all that much an upgrade depending on which model you buy.

I still have a safety recalled PT111 Millennium Pro.
It's nearly 20 years old now but still works perfectly fine as of last year when I last shot it.
Of course, I've only put around 2,500 rounds through it in all that time.
The only problems I've ever had with it in all that time was from steel and aluminum cased ammo.

Called Taurus earlier this year, they offered to replace it with a new G2 or G3, still haven't sent it in though, partly because I don't get rid of my guns and also because I don't know how rare or valuable these things are now.

People are equal parts stubborn and snobbish. As long as it goes bang when and where you want it to, and you enjoy it, knock yourself out buddy.

Poor QC results in a lot of lemons. Take the spectrum. I bought one and love it because it works. Would I recommend someone buy one? Nope.

I've had to send more Taurus guns back for repair than any other brand. I want my customers to stop buying them so I don't get fifty million calls a day wondering where the gun they sent out for warranty six months ago is.

At this point they're all just trying to frick with you.
It's a collective effort and they're all in on it.
But you didn't hear this from me.
      hehe

Trust me, Mr. Dubsman, the only people getting fricked with are Taurus' astroturf reviewers.

          Ultimately, yes.
But they seem to be irritating you with their "fifty million calls a day wondering where the gun they sent out for warranty six months ago."
Makes you wonder if Taurus is behind this consumer/FFL scheme.

They aren't. Taurus is just shit yet appeals to people who have 500 bucks and want to spend 200 on beer.

Taurus and Springfield are both behemoths because of their marketing.

They're shit and we were forced to forced to use them for decades, we had problems with some models firing just from shaking while you were running, killed a bunch of guys and nobody gave a shit because 'muh national industry', they jammed in the worst possible times (during firefights) even with regular maintenance and okay ammo, terrible ergos (get fricked if you have small hands or were left handed). The revolvers were okay, but it's almost impossible to frick that up.

I hate them with a burning passion. Now we're using Glocks and they go bang everytime, frick Taurus, frick Brazil, frick me for being dumb and choosing this career.

I had a revolver that got fricked up almost immediately. Was my first gun & my last Taurus.
I found out that warranty is bullshit when it has to get sent back to Brazil for repair or wherever the frick that takes months to get it back.
Bought a Ruger next and while it had an issue, too, they just sent me the part I needed with a return label.

Nothing wrong with Taurus. Beretta built their factory, provided their tooling and trained their employees. Then Smith and Wesson moved in and ran the company for awhile. They're decent quality and reliable, gun snobs just like knocking on what's affordable.

I bought a G2C 2years ago. Didn't clean it when I first got it and ran 500 rounds through it with no hiccups. Say what you want but mine has been extremely reliable.

friend of a friend got swindled by her LGS and brought a G3c bugout bundle to pop it's and her cherry plinking at friend's farm. She told us she got it cheap, with 100 rounds 94gr frangible bullshit, for $600 and I almost pissed myself, but contained it so as not to completely embarass a new shooter. I tried my best, but the gun was not only dry as a bine but refused to make it more than two rounds without FTF/FTE. Gave her some 115gr typical brass and 4 rounds was it's best streak. I told her to try and exchange it first chance, asked her where she got it and gave their store 1 star on google because I wasn't driving 2 hours to ream them out myself for predatory business practice. Frick Taurus and frick boomers.

      >Unironically, why do people hate Taurus so much? I
      1. Zero reliability, in the last 2 decades, within police forces in Brazil. Cops got retired because of missfire. FPBP.
      2. They supported, with cash, antigun politics (ex: Maria do Rosário, in south Brazil).
      3. They spit on ProArmas, the hue NRA.
      4. Are "popular" in Brazil not because its quality, but because are less expensive (local factory avoid heavy international taxes). In essence, its a monopoly (same shit with CBC providing ammo).

In general, its an anti-consumer brand. I prefer to save 2x-3x money and grab a Hellcat, Sig or Glock. As a hue, cant really accept why burgers would by Taurus just to save some cash... Frick these putos.

      >They're decent quality and reliable
Try to defend your life with a pre-2018 Taurus, genius. The "reliable" (I prefer less shitty) Taurus is from 2019 (new CEO, new factory in Florida).

Most of it is people regurgitating literal boomer memes. Many decades ago Taurus was operating in an old S&W plant making copies of S&W revolvers on old worn-out tooling. They had tons of quality problems and boomers knew it. That shit got sorted out decades ago and they've been making generally good revolvers since. But, memes never die, and millennials parroted the shit they heard their boomer father and his gun buddies talk about and so on it goes. Many of their revolvers are excellent, for example if you look up the super +P+ ammo from people like Underwood or Buffalo Bore you will see it is approved for things like the Taurus Raging Bull or the Tracker while it is NOT approved for a S&W or a Colt.

As far as automatics go, they make some good ones, though they've also had a terrible model as well.

    "Why do people hate Taurus?"
    >made by ppl other that yuros
    >had terrible QC issues up until 5-8 years ago, specially with the CT carbine and PT24/7 pistols, remember the shake and fire meme?
    >is cheap, so muh cheap bad get rich fgt
Honestly? With the G series pistols I think that Taurus is on their way to redemption. Never heard of problems with their revolvers either.

    >they lobby anti-gun politicians in Brazil so they have a market monopoly
    Inexcusable.

I got a g2c and it's fine but it's just a eh. Even then when you take out their revolvers, all they have is there g2 and g3 series, and that nice .22lr pistol. My opinion so I guess I'll be wrong
