underrated army

Malaysia had the toughest commando and special force unit in South East Asia. They are not permanently damaged by this training. The UK, NZ and Australian forces have joint training in Malaysia to learn jungle warfare from Malaysian forces on an annual basis, especially after the Vietnam war. There were times that the US sent their troops to Malaysia for jungle warfare training as well.

malaysia to many tactical and commandos, Vat69 UTK, Vat69 Komando, Paskal, Paskau, GGK, SWAT (police), STAR, UGM, PKL, PKU, 69 Komando, 10 Briget Para.. all this is not easy this is elite team, not yet another battalion army.. maybe they have latest aircraft but tactical is important, u must have air land and sea.. and tropical tactical is a most important. you cant simply entering tropical without knowing something..they play like hide and seek.. even sukhoi malaysia is a deadliest customize aircraft all country in one machine. Malaysia is not allowed to announce anything regarding army equipment but while lima u can see it. Malaysia is genius they dont want any others contry know his weaknesses. but while war then they will send all including tactical like helping usa military in somalia to bring back.

Just learn about Col Charles Beckwith ... he had been part of British Special Air Services (SAS) in Malaya and used the knowledge to further develop US Special Force programmes including Vietnam and Delta Forces. Malaysian Special Force are rooted from SAS the same way and time during his tour there too. Some additional jungle skills from the native were also included, specially in tracking and hiding. When I saw the Delta Force jungle training ... I see some similarities, that why they are able to work together in Somalia and Bosnia among others. The technologies used may not be as great as the US, but the effectiveness are as good.

American Marine always come to Malaysia training at Special Warfare School to learn survival lesson. One of the trainer has shared his experience with Marines in his FB. He said this Marines are too arrogant and too proud. When he and team mates leave this Marines in the jungle, on the next day they found this Marines not practice what they has learned. The area they were been are near a small river and many foods around it but they never search or hunt the animal. The hut they suppose to build, not like a hut at all. They looked like a shit. When asked why they don't eat, they said they always eat mre foods and when the foods almost out they will radio to send foods.

Malaysian military in general have to be well versed with the jungle since their entire country is literally made of 70% tropical jungle.

That makes them THE no.1 country to train with in jungle warfare.

They actually are named after the scotch - the unit was formed as part of the police back when they had British officers and native trackers. A bit ironic now because the country has become very religious and drink is frowned on

Despite the fact that Malaysia is a larger and more strategically important country when it comes to countering the PRC in the South China Sea, the US ... has chosen to favor Singapore diplomatically and arm it with latest equipment like F-35 and HIMARS and give them basing rights in Guam. While Malaysia's armed forces facing budgetary constraints. Yet US only provides token assistance to Malaysia such as donating maritime surveillance radar and MPAs. Just because Malaysia in the past adopted a principled neutral stance and refuse to support illegal US war in Iraq, Israeli genocide in Gaza and condemn Russian war in Ukraine.

Ironically, Singapore are nothing but a Chinese b***h. Just another Chinese province. Don't agree? Just look at who in charge of Singapore Armed Forces.

Stop lying to prop up your pathetic story. "Destroyed in Viet Nam" meant extricating ourselves from that idiocy by beating up the North so badly they sat asses at the treaty table. Saigon fell later and was a purely SE Asian matter, exemplified by the corruption and incompetence.
Afghanistan was an operational challenge and a strategic mistake, no doubt. Quire a lot of us said so from the start. However, if the withdrawal had been sanely performed there would have been little fuss. 'Not the troops' fault someone was determined to leave expensive toys for his campaign sponsors. A shitload of guns for hadjibob is irrelevant when he already has them. A pile of electronics and manuals for resale is another matter entirely.

Meanwhile a single Marine saying "Frick 24 hours of bug lust, I'll just fast and work on my abs or something" is apparently a direct insult to fragile little Second Worlders. LOL Adapt, improvise, and overcome, b***h.

By the way, anyone who thinks U.S. troops cannot live off the land has never looked at our map. We have a LOT of places to go off-grid and "rough it" just for fun. A man needs the wild from time to time.

Singapore is much better than Malaysia
Their professionalism and advanced training on land, at sea and in the air as exemplified by their special forces, is what merits them receiving F-35s

      >Americans decided to sell F-35 to Singapore.
      >Doesn't realize that Singapore is another Communist China province.
      >Singapore allowed PLAAF 'technician' to inspect the F-35 in the name of Chinese brotherhood and supremacy
      >Just a year later F-35 got surpassed by advanced Shenyang FC-31 version.

I laughed hard when I saw news that the US is going to sell F-35s to Singapore. The moment those jets land in Singapore there is going to be an army of Chinese spies ready to dig into whatever areas they haven't stolen already.

Besides the required time-travelling and the incredibly generous label of "advanced" for the FC-31, even as of now every single one of the RSAF's F-35s has not left the United States; how the frick is the "PLAAF 'technician' " going to 'inspect' them anyway?

Contrary to what people say, Malaysia bought russian and american aircraft out of necessity, not simply because of shit and giggles. For years malaysia had been denied access to more modern aircraft because the US is playing favorites with singapore, philippines and thailand. At one point they just said "frick this" and went to the russian instead. America putting both Indonesia and Pakistan under military sanction really spooked Malaysian decisionmaker hence why they're willing to buy russian made equipment which is generally cheaper and russia is willing to accept almost anything as payment.

          >Malaysia wanted more F/A-18
          >Malaysia looking for second hand USN/USMC F/A-18
          >Uncle Sam said no. Instead offered up F/A-18F
          >Malaysia tempted to buy F/A-18F but didn't want to surrender their existing F/A-18D as part of buyback option
          >Deal went dead
          >Suddenly US came back and "hinted" that they may export F-35 for Malaysia if they could permanently stationed their F-15/F-16 in Malaysia because reasons.
          >Malaysia said "take that F-35 of yours and shove it up your ass" subtly

Til now American suffering loses because Malaysian opened the market gate for Russian and European arms sales on SE Asia and destroying the American arms sales monopoly.

The Western mind, to place the Malaysian forces in the same category as the Arabs is an under estimation. Malaysian soldiers, sailors and airman join the regular forces for the love of the profession, most of them. There are servicemen with an impressive lineage of soldiering. Most Malaysian servicemen have been blooded. Malaysian troops constantly have combined arms exercises throughout the year, they have elaborately planned out training cycles for the individual, units, brigades, divisions and the corps as a whole. They exercise in peace times with imaginery enemies, they have made mistakes, they go back to the drawing boards. They know their weaknesses, they improvise, adapt and overcome. They also conduct lots of cross training with foreign forces.

An elevated level of cooperation with the United States on the range of fronts. There have been more than 75 U.S. military ship visits in the past two and a half years. The United States conducts training exercises with the Royal Malaysian Air Force, flying with and against them in mock battles. U.S. Navy SEALs conduct training in Malaysia twice a year. The U.S. Army does field exercises with the Malaysian army. I might mention here that, for their expertise in jungle warfare, Malaysians are known in the business as "whispering death." Finally, 1,500 Malaysian defense personnel have benefited from the U.S.

Malaysian troops are the only forces in the world to have defeated a communist insurgency. They happen to be the best jungle fighters in the world. In the decades in the fight against the Communists, there is no record of a Malaysian soldier taken alive. Elite fores all over the world are trained by them. The jungle warfare school in Fort Benning, Georgia was set up by a Malaysian team.
