Reminder the T95 stayed out in the wilderness for three decades and only needed to be refueled to get running again.

      Stupid meme.
Any tank will "run" after long periods. The problem is the electronics. Old electronics in tanks left out for 20 years with no maintenance easily fail no matter what period they were built in. You can pull a T-34 from a swamp, and only the engine will still work (once cleaned out)

Shouldn't have brought tanks that can be penetrated by a cannon tank destroyer in 2022 bro

Looks like ukies are using an ASU-85, an early cold war tank destroyer. High technology of the 50's. Would be hilarious if actually took out a tank.

They're trying to match the WW2 flak cannons that Russia has been deploying, clearly.

    >being a poor shithole that everyone knows is a poor shithole and using anything you can get your hands on to defend yourself
why do russoids struggle with the fact that these things are treated differently

Because Ukraine is NATO, this is the best NATO can do, NATO is using WW2 vehicles.
(This is what vatniks actually believe)

As the Vatnigs said when people laughed at them using Cold War scraps?
    >HEY, IF IT WORKS!
I think the difference here is this vehicle isn't on the frontline leading the charge. Unlike T-62's and shit.

    >ASU-85, 1959: 1 spotted on the poor weak Ukrop side (all points agreed on by the Russians)
    >T-62, 1961: large amount of early models spotted and some possible junk protos in the field
Bit of a double standard mate, but anything is good enough to deal with the Kontakt bricked SUVs the Russians are driving in. Also the ASU-85 is cooler than the shitty chink ass looking T-62.

    >Your enemy starts deploying obsolete and lightly armored T-62's from the 60's
    >You start deploying Tank destroyers from the 60's that can destroy them, and modern lightly armored IFV's
    Sounds reasonable to me.

      >>You start deploying Tank destroyers from the 60's that can destroy them, and modern lightly armored IFV's

The ASU-85 was a VDV vehicle with just about zero armor and the 85 mm gun will only pen the T-62 frontally with modern APFSDS ammo, if it uses old APDS its going to fail.

        Anonymous

It needs APFSDS to penetrate T-62 frontally, but APDS will happily sail through BMP-1/2/3 and BMD-1/2/4. BTRs, MTLBs, every soft skin vehicle, I think you're underestimating the potential utility of a low profile 85mm gun on a tracked chassis.

ASU-85 has BMP-1 tier armor so it will be killed by anything from a HMG and up.

Maybe after the war they'll modify these MT-LBs to something similar to the M1128 Mobile Gun System

If you use them right, older platforms can be plenty useful. You just can't expect them to go and serve as a one-to-one replacement for the modern MBT you panicked and abando00ned when the Ukrainians counterattacked.
