Ukrainian counter-offensive

So, i know this have been the topic for so long, but word going around telegram is that the AFU scraped every place they could and mustered some 19 brigades to try and drive wagner out of bakhmut, these forces were supposed to be used to retake mariupol but they decided to use everything they could in bakhmut.

Those troops were supposed to be used later with western armour and more ammunition so they'll go unprepared, Russia knows this and has been pouring more troops in bakhmut to try and cripple the AFU for good, what do you guys think, is this a sound strategy? Looks too risky to me.

Tell me OP. Use your words. And tell me if anything about your words make any sense outside of delusional vatnik ramblings.

Many of us would prefer direct intervention - at the very least a US-enforced no-fly-zone over Ukraine (blocking Russian aircraft only, of course) and maybe some Hellfire R9X strikes on Russian leadership.

Yes tovarich, I'm sure CHYNA is very pleased to lend its weapons to Russia so Russia can attack its European weapons lab. They'd also benefit from a Russia that has a strong bargaining position against eulopean resource needs since that'd enable them to compete against against the eulopean market as buyers, as opposed to making Moscow beg for oil purchases with dimes on the dollar. Who knows with all those weapons that they'd send to Russia Russia might have a chance to restart disputing the ownership of the Uyghur provinces of CHYNA, a clear Chinese interest.

Why would they do this? Probably the same reason Russia keeps attacking Bakhmut in the first place: Slavic autism. They hold stupid grudges, they get really stubborn, etc. Sometimes it works out (it's what's let them hold Kiev against the Russians). Sometimes it doesn't.

They're not destroying their entire army in the literal sense, just the force they had planned for a spring offensive.

  4. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

The offensive will be for Melitopol and Zaporizhzhia. The Donbas is too dug in, they will just waste the equipment they've just been sent. It's being used to bleed the Russians and nothing more. It goes both ways, if Russia takes it there's another "Bakhmut" 10/15km down the road. Same if the Ukies take it, Russia will be waiting 10/15km to the East of it.

Now that there's actually 400k Russians on the line and 300k waiting, very hardly, kharkiv success was duo to skeleton garrisons defending a huge line, and even then the ukros suffered great losses, that won't happen again.

Russian lines break because they are all fighting for money and nobody is going to risk getting encircled for money. Same as the last time, the moment Ukrainians create any opening and start moving deep into the Russian lines , Russians that are supposed to be the second or third line will steal the first civilian car they see and book it straight to Russia.

Space for time is a limited thing. Big as Ukraine is, it ain't Russia, and every city they touch is leveled which adds more displaced persons. They have manpower parity now, and that's going away with the next round of conscripts by Moscow. More experienced 'professional' and experienced soldiers they waste on the line, the better. If they want to give battle in Bakhmut, then the Ukrainians have to oblige to do damage.
