1000 of these would be great, I doubt they'll even get that many.
This is a weapon for surgical strikes, not something for counter battery fire.
The Pzh. 2000 will not only keep blowing up artillery positions with counter battery fire, but will also get limited ability to frick with enemy logistics like the himars.
If spotters are present with a laser you could even hit moving targets.

the first batch is supposedly around 250 units and the Ukies are apparently only receiving the GPS ones according to the news.

There is no "GPS ones", they've got both GPS and laser-guided in one package.

If you can immediately counter battery from 70 km away with 1 meter accuracy it will frickup anything that isint up armored eg: grad trucks and D30's
Having a longer arm is useful for anything in this or any war tbh

With 1meter CEP it's gonna direct hit anything with armour and frick it up anyway lmao

Yeah but the counter battery radar cant exactly pick out where the shell went from with the accuracy of a few meters

                Which as earlier anon said

Either key targets in cities if they can laser designate them (accordingly the US also sent them a dozen scaneagle recon drones today) or stuff closer to the frontline, where they can shoot and scoot after firing only one round instead of a whole salvo. It's the closest thing they got to an airforce with guided ammunition, in theory they can even hit moving tanks.

                >accordingly the US also sent them a dozen scaneagle recon drones today
or why they have real time sat intel, all sorts of other drones etc. Based on all the explosions behind the lines, just plain having spotters around 50-70km back isn't out of the question either.

My point is that it would be a waste to use this to frick up some D30s.

      >In 2012, Oto Melara and the German defence company Diehl Defence signed a contract at Eurosatory in Paris to develop and produce the precision-guided artillery projectiles "Vulcano 155 GPS/SAL" and "Vulcano 127 GPS/SAL". These projectiles are to be able to hit the target with an accuracy of 1 m and thus surpass the US M982 Excalibur, which hits a given coordinate at five to ten metres. While the Excalibur is controlled exclusively by GPS, the Vulcano is to be switchable between GPA mode (GPS control) and SAL mode (laser target marking by artillery observers). In laser control mode, 1-metre precision is to be achieved, so that not only stationary targets but also moving tanks can be destroyed. Vulcano 155 GPS/SAL also meets NATO's JBMOU specifications and can therefore be used with almost all 155 mm guns (e.g. the self-propelled howitzer 2000).[6][9][10]

it's not variants, it's the barrels. excaluburs are the same, but if you use 52 cal barrels you get 70km range instead of 45-50 with 38 cal.

b***h gave me crabs if that's what you're after.
Or do you mean the deal with Diehl?
How'd you brag about doing research on it but fail to find any news about it from Eurosatory 2012? Did you somehow not figure out Leonardo used to be called Oto Melara before they rebranded?
              Here's their website
              https://www.diehl.com/defence/en/products/ammunition/#guided-ammunition

              >Guided ammunition Vulcano – a product of German-Italian cooperation
In order to provide armed forces in the future with the capability to engage stationary single targets as well as moving targets at long distances with pin-point accuracy, Diehl Defence has developed, together with its industrial partner LEONARDO, the new guided artillery ammunition VULCANO. The ammunition family combines highest target accuracy with the unique option of mission abort after firing for this kind of ammunition.

              >The combination of satellite-based navigation with laser- or infrared-sensor control makes VULCANO one of the most accurate artillery ammunitions worldwide.

              >VULCANO is being offered as 155 mm caliber for army artillery and 127 mm for navies. The 155 mm-caliber version can be fired from the self-propelled howitzer 2000 (PzH2000), the FH-70 and M-777-A2 field howitzers as well as from the CAESAR and M109 self-propelled howitzers. The 127 mm version can be employed in 127 mm/64 light-weight und 127 mm/54 compact naval guns installed, for example, on the ship types Frigate F125, Multi-Purpose Frigate FREMM and destroyer MEKO 360

I just don't understand people like you. How can you make such strong statements about the defence industry, pretend you did research and be both so wrong and so arrogant about it?
Do you just have a hate boner against Diehl and blindly talked shit about it due to that? That seems really specific.
Seriously, what's going on big guy?

        >Best targets are soft and expensive, so stuff like radar, AA, command posts, and the like.
Yep, and NATO intelligence is going to continue to be even more of a soft force multiplier. This sort of precision stuff is kind of a feast/famine thing, it can either be insanely useful and powerful if used right or complete meh (less explosive for hugely more expense then just a plain ordinary dumb 155mm) if used badly. But Ukraine effective has access to the best spy satellite and sigint and so on in existence, way way above their grade otherwise. Along with fighting on their own territory and having humint, that means they can be very good at figuring out where the juiciest stuff is and just need the means to strike at it. These tools therefore can be used to full effect.

If, hypothetically, the CIA *found* documents that unequivocally prove Scholz' guilt in the cum ex scandal
And in turn, he had to resign and the coalition partners would break the coalition, leading to reelections
And the green party would nominate the superior chad Habeck who wanted to arm ukraine last summer already
THEN maybe we would start arming ukraine for real.

Ukraine desperately needs maneuver warfare abilities and combined arms with fire support. Until they get that any idea of them defeating and pushing the Russians out is simply a pipe-dream. They’ll remain at the mercy of whenever Putin decides it’s time to declare victory.
