(nta) People are working on osintgayging it up, but there's limited access in frontline areas. Crashes usually take a while to get convincing documentation, if they're over unpopulated terrain.

Some of them supposedly happened over a week ago, seems a bit fishy that there’s zero footage after that long

If a Patriot shot them down then they'd have no visual evidence of it, but plenty of radar evidence, and they'd be unwilling to post said radar evidence for operational security/classification reasons.

I'm sure we'll see photographic proof of it eventually (maybe a video of a patriot/nasams operator's screen) but honestly you need to come to grips with the concept that in modern maneuver warfare and especially modern aerial warfare you don't often get photographs of what is killed. If you don't trust the Ukrainians when they claim kills via these high level systems you need to stop and analyze your thinking.

    Real answer: S-200
Not because it shot down any Russian fighters but because it blew up A-50, removing any early warning those fighters would receive

      Anonymous

Maybe Russia should bring in some of their remaining A-50 or A-100.

      Anonymous

It isn't worth making a new thread over, but while we're on the topic Russia has moved one of its 6 remaining A-50s into Taganrog.

Which is where the 1st one was operating from, and more aggressively placed than the second which was farther back in Krasnodar Krai. Be aware of that should you hear about its demise; this is more exposed than the last.

Couple this with knowingly exchanging Su-34/35s (and their pilots) for more glide bombs on target, and Putin's demands for a breakthrough may mean the crippling of the VKS as a professional, modern force.

They speak English in a very specific manner, often use subject-verb inversion and use punctuation rather liberally (their favorite seems to be ellipses), instead of where it would be correct. anon, you are missing something critical. budanov is basically 1950s mossad tier. he has actual genuine cold rage in his heart, a list of people he wants dead that has probably 500 or more entries, and the ability to go through said list. those morons are on there somewhere but he needs to get through the more important ones first. maybe after he blows up the car of whoever poisoned his wife.

He’s been doing every deep mission inside Russia to destabilize their war effort. Hitting refineries, critical pipeline stations, transformers, factories, it’s all a very sophisticated shaping operation that has real effects on Russia’s economy and production capacity.
Why do you think Russia is enacting a fuel export ban on March 1st while it’s desperate for foreign currency? Refineries are exploding everywhere and they already have shortages, exporting leftovers would mean tractors and trucks would be unable to move, worsening the situation.
Moldova is a distraction Russia wants Ukraine to enter, to focus away from them at a critical time. Budanov won’t fall for it.

I wonder how much rolling stock is being used to ship fuel, nitrates and raw material to the DPRK. The Norks refineries are extensive for their size but i doubt their current condition, Russia might be spending alot of effort fixing up those instead of their own.

Be fricking hilarious if things get bad enough that they need Norks to refine oil for them.

Why did they wait until mid March instead of launching it in the opening week?
They needed to take a bridgehead on the other side of the Southern Bug and cut off the southern link to Romania. By the 15th they had already lost the battle for Mykolaiv.

There are various dedicated thermal/electro-optical sensor suites these days that can be used in replacement of or in conjunction with traditional radar to guide AA to target.
Pic related. An example of such a solution that integrates with NASAMS, from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.

Ukraine may have received something like that. In which case the reason why they are nailing Su-34/35s is simply because they are being taken by non-radiating AA solutions. Mobile too.

Probably isn't too difficult to geolocate for an autist but you could just open the tg its from. Source says they were on their way to Avdiivka when the battle was still ongoing, so this is at least a week or 2 old and probably somewhere in Donbas.

The russians are on the offensive so are taking far more risk to keep momentum going plus there may be bad information due to line movement causing them to push further ahead than they should.
I that said think the shoot downs are also being overstated.

      Anonymous

By bad information I mean the normal exaggeration and blatant lying plus people mission planning of their own propaganda yet again.
Russian coordination has always been shit but they have always been able to afford the constant mistakes on advance.
Also election in 2 weeks and they are pulling out all the stops right now so risk and loss tolerance is higher than the Russian usual.
Not sure why they care since its rigged but they also cut gas exports to lower prices for russians for the elections.
