        >And how many Ukrainians were lost?
Ukrainian losses were a miniscule fraction of russian losses, owing to the Ukiraini8anj ssuperior trianing, superior skills, superior equipment and superior experience as well as them fighting from dug-in defensive positions to slaughter continous, undersupported human wave attacks. All proven facts as well as basic logic dictate as much.

Russia destroyed its own offensive potential and lost the war in their attempt to win this singular battle. Deal with it, vatBlack person.

I hear claims of how well ukraine is doing on the battlefield but the line stays still and there's very little gains, but a continual loss of manpower that it can't replenish.

Yevgeny Prigozhin confirms it, while Zelenskyy is flip flopping on the matter. Ukraine was literally incapable of holding a fortified city against Wagner PMC, with Russia committing a fraction of the men/materiel.

Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin is a close confidant with Putin… they’re already celebrating. Zelensky will warm up to the reality, but again, you probably believed in the Ghost of Kiev too when Ukraine parroting that talking point. So you really shouldn’t worry about arm chair “credibility” when it suits your taste.

                >Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday that Bakhmut was “only in our hearts,” hours after Russia’s defense ministry reported that forces of the Wagner private army, with the support of Russian troops, had seized the city in eastern Ukraine.

                >Speaking alongside President Joe Biden at the Group of Seven summit in Hiroshima, Japan, Zelensky said he believed the city had fallen, but added: “You have to understand that there is nothing,” saying of the Russians, “They destroyed everything.”

Use what passes for your brain, vatBlack person. Bakhmut was supposed to fall in the first month of the war. The whole defense of the oblast hinged around the Siversk-Sloviansk-Kramatorsk grouping. Instead, Puccia spent the last 15 months trying to take Bakhmut, Soledar, and pressuring Siversk. They currently have occupied two of the three towns. They aren't even in artillery range of the third. In the meantime there's 80 or so other small villages and towns you need to capture after that. Get my meaning?

Anon, this exact kind of moronation is what we're talking about. Bakhmut had a prewar population of 70k, which is a small city. Imagine somebody getting bogged down trying to capture Bismarck, North Dakota (population 73k) for over NINE MONTHS.
It is absolutely a strategic loss that Russia has struggled so hard over such a small and strategically unimportant city. Even if they take/have taken it, they have an actual uphill battle as all the geography west of the city slopes upward continually. If Bakhmut was a bloodbath then everything west will be absolute hell.
