Not to mention that other countries in the region are all interested in the plane and that it is basically the only jet that fits their budget and timetable.

Korea hasn't done themselves any favours to garner the goodwill of Ukraine. They haven't sent any weapons, were very slow to condemn Russia and straight up refused to transfer their T-80s when Ukraine asked. Meanwhile the US have done a lot for Ukraine and the Ukies have been asking fro F-16 or F-15 fighters since day 1.
          >the only jet that fits their budget and timetable
Ukraine doesn't care. They get enough money from the US and EU to order whatever they want. Hence why they ordered 100 PzH 2000 instead of a cheaper alternative.

Korea provided millions in non lethal aid. But that is irrelevant either way. Poles will be doing all the negotiating because they need customers for their new FA-50PL factories. Ukies view Poles second only to the US in terms of help in the war.
            >pzh2000
Zelensky has publically begged for weapons multiple times. This deal was nothing more than krauts saving face for their putin appeasement strategy. Forcing a deal on desperate people. Literal garden gnomery and nobody pretends otherwise.
No doubt ukies will get jets other than the FA-50 but you are delusional if you dont think it will make up the bulk of their inventory after the war.

Yes, obviously the Krauts totally signed off on a deal for 100 vehicles right after Putin started to mess with the gas just to appease him. Clearly poor Ukraine was forced to sign a deal with them. They surely couldn't buy howitzers from anyone else.

I think you misunderstood my question. Ukraine has decent air defense too, hence the Russian AF failure. That doesn't undo the fact that Russia has strong AD too, we don't see much Ukrainian air action either, besides the occasional Su-25 CAS run. What good would a non-stealthy plane be for Ukraine when Russia still has loads of S-300, S-400, Buks, etc.?

Baltic states, Poland, Slovakia and Czechia operate these planes and those missiles and are part on NATO. So it wasn't that unexpected that it could be done. Biggest issue might been in adapting and calibrating them to work under numerical measurement system that Ukies use in their Air Force, because HARM that normally are operating on Imperial one that is used by Air Force of all NATO members.

You don't want your missiles mistake feets and miles with matters and killometers.

What are you even on about? Baltics have no air-force whatsoever, only Estonia is holding to their last two L-39s. Czechs sold their MiG-29s to Poland in nineties. Slovakia just grounded theirs, and I doubt that their previous pro-russian government bothered with integration of any NATO weapons whatsoever. Only Poland might have actually done something on that account.

iirc the iPad Slav-rigging only allows 1 of the two available targeting modes. They can't communicate to the missiles at all, only tell it to target the first thing it detects after firing. And they cant feed any telemetry to the missile fr the jet, which has a better sensor a
