>Ukraine bought more than hundred Spartans based on positive feedback from soldiers that used it in Kharkiv counteroffensive
What makes British vehicles so good?
>Ukraine bought more than hundred Spartans based on positive feedback from soldiers that used it in Kharkiv counteroffensive
What makes British vehicles so good?
Spartan is from the CRV programme, it could traverse Falkland peat fine with a turret on top, it would probably be an excellent APC for Ukrainian snow. I think the Royals used it in Iceland.
When you're spending other people's money it's easy to waste
realistically they're probably getting for a bargain price
I think they were being sold on the civilian market for less than most modern cars (£16,000)
Everything is gonna be paid in the end by seized russian assets, so why not?
Some Russian opposition figures have started saying that after the war Russia must start paying for the reconstruction of Ukraine in return for a quicker end to sanctions. Vatniks are livid.
Actually russia would lose this money one way or another
>Win war:
Now ukraine is in ruins, west abandons it entirely so you need to rebuild an entire country you destroyed with your own money since the sanctions will still remain
>Lose war:
Now you are forced to spend money to rebuild or sanctions will still say
Either way they lose. But if they lose the war they would actually have chance to make up for it
Russia obviously cannot afford this and if they tried, any and all poverty would be blamed on it (correctly or otherwise) leading to turbonazis in Russia
Look how much the Krauts chimped about Versailles reparations even though they basically paid none of them due to it all being funded by American loans.
Friendly countries to Ukraine can set the reparations at whatever amount they want. Just have it come out of a special duty on Russian imports. E.g. Russia can start exporting energy and resources to the West again, and on arrival x-percent will be charged on the import and remitted to Ukraine for reconstruction. Seems like the obvious way to do it.
Sure thing if you consider Navalny opposition (he said that). Nobody not already in prison would ever say this. There is no opposition.
>them thinking that the no-bid-contract rebuild israeliteBlack person debt army will allow them to bankroll that due to 'guilt'.
lol. lmao even.
It was bought trough crowdfunding. You fricked up even here, Black person.
that's literally what it is , other peoples money. you dumb Black person.
>crowndfunding
>set the goal, people donate for said goal
>other peoples money
i mean sure if you also say the same for taxes
Looks kinda gay tho
when are we expecting to see these delivered? When two countries formally buy like this, doesn't it usually take like over a year for them to be delivered?
They are surplus, not new builds.
okay based, Spring offensive is on the menu boys
You can see how much joy Ukies and Pols get from killing ziggers. It's not like Iraq or Afghans who need to be bribed with opium to show up to their shift and then flee at the first gunshot.
Killing russians lightens the soul because it is a twofold virtue.
Not only do you save people in the future from having to deal with a russian, you also save a russian from existence within russia. Then he can be hopefully reincarnated into a more fulfilling and worthwhile creature such as a wienerroach or sewer rat.
now
Those are a quarter of the crowd-funded Spartans. 101 crowd funded APCs, that can deal with mud season
Why are they so different?
Different hulls built for different roles apparently. I think I see a few FV432 Bulldogs in there too.
because CVR(T) is a family of 8-9 variants on the same chassis
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_Vehicle_Reconnaissance_(Tracked)
Yep
I wonder if the Ukrainian army will be able to find combat modules for Stormer variants
Usually that means adding GPMGs, grenade dischargers and sights
There are civvy Starstreak launchers the MOD can buy up, see pic, but they need to be recommissioned and that may be more difficult than it sounds especially with regards to the electronics tying in the vehicle to the Ukrainian IADS
me lad, you need to get caught up
UK is donating 28 Challenger 2s
Poland is donating 14 Leo 2A4s
Germany is donating 14 Leo 2A6s
Canada, Norway and Spain, 26 Leo 2A4s
Portugal, 3 Leo 2A6s
Sweden, 10 Strv 122s (Leo 2s)
USA, 31 Abrams
Germany has released the 88 Leo 1A5s Rheinmetall offered and may send more
Denmark another 20 Leo 1s
Belgium is checking its Leo 1 inventory
Many of these tanks need to be refurbished (especially the Leo 1s) and prepared so the delivery will take years to complete
But others are already on the ground, such as the UK and Polish tanks
Labelled FV432 on the top left isn't a Bulldog, but the one on the top right is
FV430 Mk.3 (i.e. Bulldog) has that extra access hatch on the front of the hull to accommodate the Cummins 6BTA/Allison X200-4C powerpack that replaced the original Rolls-Royce K60/Allison TX-200-4A setup on the original
>of course there are multiple FV43x variants
derp
thanks anon
During peace time maybe, Ukraine is basically the dress rehearsal for WW3.
>basic-b***h western APC
Basically people comparing it to the likes of the BMP-1?
PLEASE LET WIESEL-CHAN JOIN THE FUN
I wish they would dump hundreds of FV107 Scimitars there. The FV10X series can do 60mph lol its super fast everyone thats used one loves them.
I thought Germany would have given those a long time ago
It's not fast compared to modern tanks, but it is very good in mud.
>The Leopard 2A7 can run at a maximum road speed of 70 km/h
>The FV103 has a combat weight of 10,670 kilograms (23,520 lb). It has a maximum speed of 96 kilometres per hour (60 mph) and has a range of 510 kilometres (320 mi).
My guy why speak about something you know nothing about?
I just confused mp/h with km/h my euro buddy.
Holy shit they are smol as frick
When they were new with the speed limiter removed and maybe over mods they'd do 80mph. Stories of being overtaken by tanks on the autobahn
>I thought Germany would have given those a long time ago
Surprisingly No
they have given IRIS-T, Patriot Batterys, Top of the line Rheinmetall AA,Pzh2000s,Leopard 2s + Marders (soon), Leopard 1s (also soon),Brand new Panther MBT Factory? Yup gonna be build sometime,RCH-155 Yup that too scheduled for next year
But Wiesel?
Nah Wiesel-chan can sit in the corner and play by herself
I have never felt so fricking blueballed
It's the same with the UK
We have given our MBTs SPGs AA top tier missiles and radars the FV103s the thread is about...but not the Scimitar FV107 which we have fricking hundreds and hundreds of.
I think it's because we don't have a replacement (Ajax kek) for the FV107 in service yet so they won't part with it, like the Warrior (Boxer). Does the Wiesel have a replacement yet?
Wiesel replacement (picrel) is still in the development phase
though I personally do not like it
That's probably why then. I wonder if it will fit in a chinook still.
Wiesel is a weapons carrier, it doesn't do anything that a Toyota or Ukrainian "battle buggy" doesn't do, adds an unnecessary specialist logistical burden, and doesn't justify its price
The raison d'etre for the Wiesel is that it fits in the back of a chopper, that's about it
>I wonder if it will fit in a chinook still
It's designed to fit in the back of a Super Stallion, the German Army's heavy-lift chopper
Dont talk shit about my tankette Waifu you homosexual
Wiesels are useful to the German Army because you can't fit a bulletproof tracked Toyota in the back of a chopper for when you conduct vertical envelopment or drop off special forces
The problem is that Ukraine isn't doing any of that, so for their specific circumstances, Wiesel is useless. It's like selling them B-1B bombers, what would be the point?
King Stallion I should have said, the Germans are acquiring CH-53Ks
and they're the premier Western heavy-lift chopper
Germany is retiring the CH-53 for brand new chinooks
HUH
thanks
well that's a big surprise
CH53 is peak Chinook cope. Only idiots use them.
that is the Wiesels ostensible purpose
obviously there hasn't been any air-mech operations done irl
so it is used for light and rapid deployment forces to give them a mount for heavy weapons they would otherwise lack
>It's like selling them B-1B bombers, what would be the point?
To bomb the shit out of the kremlin and Putin’s dacha obviously.
But more seriously if a weapons system can be used effectively for something, if not perhaps its ideal designed role, why the frick not send it?
Literally all this stuff was made for killing Russians. Let them do what they were made to do.
>Super stallion
What a piece of shit
>Wiesel is a weapons carrier, it doesn't do anything that a Toyota or Ukrainian "battle buggy" doesn't do, adds an unnecessary specialist logistical burden, and doesn't justify its price
tracks make it off road
so do Toyota 4x4s
yep pretty much
they were always a weapons carrier for light forces, just heli-capable
Dismantled
>it doesn't do anything that a Toyota or Ukrainian "battle buggy" doesn't do
It has armour proofed against rifle bullets and shell splinters. And it has tracks.
>armour
uparmoured Humvees and
>tracks
M113s are much more useful, and don't require setting up yet another logistics pipeline
>if a weapons system can be used effectively for something
which is what? carrying a TOW missile or ferrying ammo? yeah okay, a Humvee or M113 can do that
the Wiesel sacrifices some features (payload) for others (heliborne deployability) which makes sense in the Bundeswehr context, but this tradeoff isn't what the UA needs
It seems like Germany wanted a similar platform to an airborne deployable AFV like a BMD, except the Luwa is small enough to be carried by helicopters.
http://www.military-today.com/apc/luwa.htm
>Super Stallion, the German Army's heavy-lift chopper
Might wanna check out what they chose to replace the aging CH-53G fleet.
>The raison d'etre for the Wiesel is
Being cute.
Is the fennek with tracks look on purpose?
>Don’t like it
Are you mad? It’s a beautiful looking vehicle with large improvements (on paper) to the weasel.
>Tracks and a windscreen
It could be steered by Fleshlight and I'd still hate it
I dont like the big ass turret and windscreen
nor the quad track design
Why do bongs do the track cover zigzag? I've only seen it on the Abrams X.
might be better at discarding mud and water
They only have those skirts on for exercise.
In a battlefield it has like 5-6 tonnes of armour bolted to each side.
I love the wiesel as well and I think they would do very well in ukraine, but IIRC, there's less than 500 wiesels total. Bundeswehr probably wants to hang on to them.
whats the point in having a microphone if you dont have a mouth
smoothfaces please explain
>leopard 2s
wat?
>Germany
>volunteering anything this war that they don't have to be cajoled and shamed into contributing
you now remember the helmets
t. Propaganda poisoned newBlack person who never held a gun
I love you Wieselchan...
They must have hundreds of FV103s now the UK gave them 80+ a while ago plus 20+ stormer hvms
They're very cute tbh. Are they considered IFVs?
Nah they don't have a main gun like the Scimitar FV107. The FV103 is used by the British for transporting ATGM, AA any specialist team with equipment around.
There's a whole range if FV10X series or CVRT vehicles.
They are very fast, relatively light and simple to maintain/operate
>Ukraine bought
>bought
You think charging Ukraine, and making money off people being invaded, is something to be proud of my spamming British friend
They bought them off the MoD's civilian market where they were basically sat there for anyone to buy for bargain bin prices, after being given a ton previously for literally nothing. They got them cheaper than most modern cheap cars and UK was just like yeah ok why not.
Civilians have bought them here to run around the town with them, they're pretty fun. the F107 is my favourite looking light "tank" (Scout vehicle).
They're so cheap becausue they're basically two car engines strapped onto a track and armoured box.
>Two FV103 Spartan APC in service with the Ukrainian 67th Brigade.
>As these were privately purchased from the UK, they came with no armament (Usually an FN MAG would be fitted) so instead M2 Browning .50 HMG were added in improvised mounts to the cupola.
ok yanks, trade deal: we build the hull you build the guns
>In November 2022, the Serhiy Prytula Foundation began collecting UAH 200 million for the purchase of 50 FV103 Spartan armored personnel carriers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.[20] According to the results of the collection, 60 FV103 Spartans were bought at a price of UAH 3.33 million per unit.[21]
>At the beginning of March, the Serhiy Prytula Foundation specified that a total of 236 million hryvnias had been collected, for which 101 units of armored vehicles of 8 models were "contracted": FV103 Spartan, FV104 Samaritan, FV105 Sultan, Stormer, Shielder, FV432 Bulldog, FV434, FV106 Samson. After maintenance in Great Britain, as of the beginning of March, the first batch of 24 machines has already arrived in Ukraine[22].
yes?
36 hryvnia = 1 dollars
So 6.5 million for 60
So 108 thousand each.
Cheaper than a landrover kek.
£75,000 bong money.
I had no idea the dollar had dropped back to 1.2 again.
check the second line, they planned to buy 60 for 200, but bought 101 for 236, or 63k per each
Ahh so £52,341 bongs
I could have bought one noooooooo
https://tanks-alot.co.uk/product/fv103-cvrt-spartan-2/
£28k
They used to be £10k before the war lol
There's going to be so much great stuff on surplus after this war
I'm assuming there were more expensive or modernised variants included in the larger amount then, goddamn.
I'm still pissed it seems so hard to export.
They arent. Ukrainians are moronic subhumans so its only natural they would buy a sub par vehicle for their subhuman forces.
Hi warriortard
These things were vital in the kharkiv collapse right?
Should have given Ukraine all the Wiesels.
Why not send Scimitars and Scorpions?
Is there anywhere compiling Ukrainian reviews and feedback with Western equipment? I wouldn't mind reading some, or even better, comparisons between various types of western equipment by Ukrainians.
It's hard enough getting Ukrainian reviews never mind comparative reviews
well, everyone knows St Javelin and St NLAW
Stinger was praised for its range, ergonomics and reliability versus the Igla (I will never forget the Uke commenting on the hiss of escaping air when breaking the seal of a Stinger box)
Martlet for a while was the premiere drone-killer, and the Stormer-mounted version Starstreak was praised for its networkability and multi-role capabilities, providing SAM overwatch for key UA formations
I have not heard any comment of Pzf3 or Matador which was also supplied in quantity, they should compare favourably against RPGs, M72s, and RPOs
>Bought
They actually had to PAY for those pieces of shit?!
Holy frick, the Brits are absolute fricking c**ts.
Volenteer fundraisers decided to buy them for Ukraine off of the Bong MoD's surplus bin and aftermarket, and they're perfect for Ukraine, considering the extremely low ground pressure caused by rather large treads on an extremely lightweight vehicle.
Ukraine had already been gifted a large number of them for free which is why the fundraisers wanted to buy more, and they got more than they expected since the UK effectively gave them the rest after the purchase, because the fundraisers were doing for Ukraine.
The money given was probably used to help train more Ukies.
But anyway, why are you a Black person?
Fun fact: around the time of fundraising for 100 spartans, Poroshenko went to London and bought 50 of them with big discount trough his connections. Zelebots attacked him for "sniping" the deal, instead of being happy that army will get the same amount of AFVs and will keep half of gathered money for the next big purchase on top of it.
this is barely mentioned for "some" reason, so have a confirmation that someone else haven't memoryholed it
Better than walking (usually, see ajax), worse than everything else in the west.
CRV vehicles are very good and loved by the crews.
CRV are the fastest tracked vehicles on earth in service with a military.
The Scimitar2 is particularly very good.
>Ukraine bought
Forgot to namegay this time Mandick?
code?
So the head of the Charity fund that bought those CVRs confirmed that although all vehicles are being demilitarized UK MoD will provide combat modules for some of them. So Ukraine could get approximately eight more Stormers
bought
Kek
You're brown, also
>Sit down at CVRT restaurant
>Open menu
>See this
What are you ordering?
FV104 Samaritan because the high roof looks hilarious.
Stormer for the newer engine, but I take off the launchers because I want to drive around fields fast
Why aren't they just doing a refresh of this fun design instead of the Ajax/Boxer clusterfrick?
