Yes, after the many, many, many threads I just saved it as a pasta doc for when it's inevitably posted again. Though, I enjoy reading and learning about the tech needed for hypersonic flight, which allowed me to make the pasta in the first place.

2/3rds of my military career was being surrounded by boomer contractors in plaid shirts arguing amongst themselves over equipment 3 levels above my skill grade, nodding occasionally and hoping to god they didn't ask for anything more complex than a torque wrench. I know exactly how that soldier feels, and it's a mix of: wow that's pretty cool and please don't ask me to explain that to someone else.

Russia and China are being super dishonest about their "hypersonics". Those are ballistic missiles with regular ballistic reentry vehicles and glide vehicles. The scramjets the US is working on are vastly superior due to these not developing plasma sheathes. In a ballistic weapon the violence of re-entry into heavy atmosphere severely accelerates the formation of plasma making them useless at hitting anything but a static, large target. Scramjets make it so that hypersonic flight is maintained at low altitude through the entire duration of flight, thereby greatly suppressing the formation of plasma (along with a better shape profile). These are real guided missiles that can communicate, use sensors, etc.

uh. low altitude wouldn’t suppress the formation of plasma.

that being said china is probably around 20-30 years behind the us here, russia is roughly on par with the US and USSR in the 70s, which was shockingly even on this front and a handful of others.

        >US and USSR in the 70s, which was shockingly even on this front and a handful of others.
Except it's not. A Typhoon is indeed an SSBN that can carry SLBMs. Except it's not really, it's just a pair of submarines tied around a raft of ICBMs of high gayility.

The Buran was just a re-entry glide vehicle in the shape of the Space Shuttle.

The Tsar Bomba is just a lot of Plutonium and Uranium.

You can get the initial capability by leveraging another (usually stolen) technology, but it doesn't actually give you the new technology.

The USSR, though, was far better at reverse-engineering things than China has ever been.

The HAWC is the superior version, being an air breathing scramjet powered cruise missile. The CPS is just AHW for 2011, and ARRW is the air launched version. Both being rocket powered boost glide weapons. The HAWC program has been successful in every test flight to date. Where is Chiners scramjet?

yea totally man. That's a perfectly controlled spin compared to pic related which clearly showed a chaotic trajectory.
Also they obviously look totally exactly alike.
                Very implressive. I kneel.

surely those satellite launches were actually scam jets because the captions said so. Without those captions and the narrators I could not tell the difference xD

                >clearly showed a chaotic trajectory
Yes, all 4 seconds of video showed repeated for two minutes. Show the rest of the video, and not just 4 seconds of the missile porpoising, after losing control.
                >surely those satellite launches
X-51 and X-43A are sats, now? Holy cope. Still waiting for that Chinese scramjet pic. Where is it?

                >x-51 and x-43a are sats now
yes they are, sanchez. You can even call them your mom or scam jet. Just use appropriate captions kek

and sure man. 4s second, losing control. should have done a spin, that would've been a good trick to show control.

Weird looking sats, Wing Ye. Is this really the cope you're going with? You're going to get yourself gulag'd for such a shit shilling job, "Brian" Ping Wei Bao. Now, I'll ask again" where is the picture of China's scramjet?

                >and sure man. 4s second, losing control. should have done a spin, that would've been a good trick to show control.
Why won't they show the full flight, then? Nobody films only 4 seconds of a missile launch.

the paper is good and all but where is the trajectory? cannot just launch a random dumb rocket and call it a scam jet.

                Anonymous

The papers are based on technical data gathered from the flight testing. From there, they try to manipulate the base design which have corrections made by observing the flight data gathered.

    Impressive,

With this most recent achievement, fate has in a single stroke, marked the decline of the west and spelled a new era of wondrous prosperity and peaceful global dominance for the Chinese dragon, which promises to firmly stand in sharp contrast to the historically bloody ascent of western powers and the cruel subjugation it brought to the humbler nations of the world. With the blessings of Chinese hypersonic electricity, quantum hypersonic aircraft carriers and quantum enhanced hypersonic railguns will be the instruments with which China affirms its noble stewardship of 21st century world politics and offers the non-western world a different option; an humanist alternative to the depredations of Western leadership and the opportunity for a more equitable and dignified multilateralism.

It's not the most important weapon system but lacking hyper sonic missiles is gonna give Russia and China strategic advantages in certain theaters.

I'm guessing that the US administration just feels like there are more pressing matters to attend to then hyper sonic missiles.

But what's important is our diversity and meeting minority quotas in industry.
Of course offshoring most of our tech base to Asia was important too.
