I mean, it's no Rafael SeaBreaker, but it's a pretty nice indication of how much weight Turkey pulls in NATO these days.

And they'll use the deactivation code to turn off the Ukrainian Bayraktars too, right? Any day now. If this was not pure copium this time last year, it sure as shit is now that all the farts have escaped from Russia's sails.

It comes with a Turkish KTJ 3200 turbojet engine and Turkish-made IIR & RF seeker, completely ITAR & EAR free. Turkey can export the system to anyone. Possibly to countries where Europeans & US won't like.

every non-stealthy subsonic antiship missile is basically the same missile
      >exocet
      >harpoon
      >kh-35
      >kalibr
it's a tube with boom and a radar at one end and a turbojet at the other, there's not a lot of room for creativity

I'm kind of wondering how effective these "typical" subsonic sea skimmers are. If we just take the range at face value, and assume it works there, and sea skimming works too, the Black Sea Fleet should have been sunk already.

It took a long time for the Moscow to be Neptuned, and the Harpoon only sank regular boats too afaik.

So what's stopping them? Is it that they don't know where to fire? So US satellite intelligence data isn't enough to shoot a missile close enough so that it can find the ship?
Or are they shooting the missiles down? The Ukrainians did say they used a Bayraktar to "distract" the Moskva, so maybe that was necessary to score a hit? And now the Turks pur 12 launchers in a battery which seems to imply they need to fire en masse.

Moskva's main radar and S-300 fire control was allegedly distracted by the Bayraktar, but that doesn't excuse the Osa-AK point defense missiles not being deployed (they were still stowed when she sunk) and the AK-630 failing to engage.

I think the deciding factor in how effective AShMs are in general is whether you can saturate the enemy defenses.

That's a bit of a simplification of what allegedly happened. The Bayraktars were able to distract an area level air defense complex by burning out the operators over the course of half a day, because Russian AD radars are mentally exhausting to operate. The weapons control crew were too busy pulling their hair out and/or falling asleep to actuvate CIWS.

I wonder if this is gonna be another " wonder weapon " like the tb2 which has been relegated to a reconnaissance role.

      >" wonder weapon " like the tb2
No one ever has considered the tb2 a wonder weapon absolutely no one.
Why is it that so many homosexuals deliberately hype up the tb2 and then say that it's shit because it doesn't meet the way exorbitant expectations?
The TB2 costs like what 3mil$?
That's bang for your buck right there.

Yeah it is not bad, it is much, much better than those " Kodak " drones that the Russians use.The thing is that everyone was overhyping it.

        Anonymous

It's kind of the opposite, TB-2s were actually designed as cheap reconnaissance drones but ended up being used for actual bombing missions once Turks discovered that Russian AA was actually kind of shit.
