Turkey is leaving Syria

Does Turkey actually use western arms and equipment? I’ve seen Erdogan try to appease Putin a lot.

Yes, their aircraft and the vast majority of their land based equipment is western. Almost entirely last generation or older though.

She's gorgeous. I honestly thought she was UK born until I read her life history page. Shame more Syrian women don't have her lighter brown hair.

I’ll believe it when I see it, but it would make sense. With the earthquake hitting Turkey’s economy and likely political will to intervene in Syria, pulling back on Syria to cut costs makes sense.

A lot of Syrians aren’t ethnically Arabs just like Lebs. They’re eastern meds

Aren't the rebels in Idlib fricked if this happens?

      Anonymous

Most likely yes - the SAA advance only stopped because the turks set up outposts around idlib.
The SAA probably doesn't have as much Russian fire support anymore though.

Rebels in Idlib? You mean wahhabist militias who fight for the same goal as ISIS just under different banner? No I don't think so. What's Asad going to do about them? Syria has no means to siege the city by themselves, Russians shat the bed and won't help them anymore and any supportive action by Iran will be sabotaged by Israel immidiatelly.

        >What's Asad going to do about them?
Some will be killed, some flee to Turkey and Europe, some will be granted amnesty.

Turkey isn't going anywhere. Syrian media floats shit like this with vague "sources" every few months, they said the same thing at the end of December last year. Until the PKK is destroyed in Syria or pushed far away from Turkish borders, Turkey won't budge and Assad can't do shit to make them leave.

It's possible that the government opposition c**ts like Kilicdaroglu may try to do it because he's a bought-and-paid-for Western plant and the US is more interested in getting Turkey to stop wienerblocking their Greater Kurdistan project than they ever were in removing Assad. However Kilicdaroglu is insanely unpopular in Turkey and if he runs, he's guaranteed to lose against Erdogan because even the watermelon seller is better than that loser.

        >Rebels in Idlib? You mean wahhabist militias who fight for the same goal as ISIS just under different banner?

No, we mean actual rebels, as in the ones who want Assad gone and also hate ISIS and hate the CIA for fricking flooding them with those jihadi fricks. And if Turkey pulls out, Assad is absolutely going to use the opportunity to brutalize the frick out of most of them with Russia after pretending to be willing to sign for peace like he did with every other rebel group in Syria.

          >actual rebels, as in the ones who want Assad gone and also hate ISIS
Those have been dead for years now. None remain. They've been used by wahhabists as a thin veil for the west but as with every usefull idiot their lifetime was limited. All "rebels" besides Kurds are just a bunch of different flavoured jihadists now.

The USA does not give a single shit about Turkey except as an irritating member of its allies who never contributes in a useful manner and constantly makes the alliance look bad by committing thinly veiled ethnic cleansing campaigns. Israel's more useful, and they're HORRIBLE allies.

They really aren't and it's not even a comparison.

          >hate the CIA for fricking flooding them with those jihadi fricks
This is dumb, but what I expect from demoralised turkroach. ISIS was a Russian op that got out of hand. Right at the start of the war, Russia advised Syria to empty it's jails of islamists and literally bus them to the east of the country because they would then go on to discredit the rebels. Like all Russian plans, it was pretty moronic and got out of hand almost immediately, so Russia sent Chechen FSB goons to try and steer the organisation and lost control of them almost immediately as well.
Then rich fricks in places like the UAE and Jordan and Saudi Arabia were flooding money everywhere they could. That's the chain of responsibility for ISIS, morons thinking they could control basically uncontrollable islamists.
The actual CIA ops were pretty embarrassing, like the column of about 60 "vetted fighters" who got BTFO almost immediately and all their gucci gear seized by a local neighbourhood militia.

That's why America is involved, Russia also wants access to the Mediterranean for their energy exports. IS just wants total world ending Armageddon iirc.

Turkey is basically only in Syria to take a fat dump on Kurds and also to have better control over the flow of Syrian migrants into turkey because Turks also hate Arab migrants a lot
