Training

I want to train myself in order to become proficient in infantryman tasks, what should i do?
I'm almost finished reading FM7-8 so I'm taking some inspiration from it too.

Ofc a fundamental part of it is squad training but I dont have people to LARP with.

Anyway my list for now is:
-fitness(running, rucking, bodyweight, lift weights, sprints, stretching, I should also swim but I dont like it)
-orienteering(setting a path on a map and going out with a compass and following it successfully)
-marksmanship(knowing how to shoot properly both with irons and magnified)
-how to take care and operate of my gun (cleaning, clear jams, replace parts if needed etc)
-how to properly set up your gear(no rattle, what to put in ruck and what in chest rig etc)
traveling techniques(handrail, bearing, following isoline etc)
-crossing danger areas
-hand signals
-how to operate small radio
-communicate properly and not colloquially
-how to react to contact
-formations
-individual movement techniques
-tccc
-how to set up a patrol base and how to set yourself in it
-how to dig a trench
-know how fire and maneuver works
-team members must always be close enough to see the team leader, tl must be close enough to see SL, so your squad doesn't get dispersed, distance depends on environment

Bc the italian military doesnt do anything ever and I don't like my government, plus I may get a good job opportunity shortly that could afford me to move country in the future so if I land it I won't be blowing that up

There is no substitute for group learning. You cannot entirely replicate the learning process individually.

The most you can would be enlisting.
You say they dont do anything but they literally do the thing you want (training)

              I know but read above

In Italy you have to pay anyway for the public uni, an amount that depends on your family wealth.
So for example my family pays 4k a year approx, if you live alone your average full time salary will be 1200 to 1400 a month after tax if ur lucky, and you'll keep 200 to 500 as disposable income depending on how much you skimp on stuff and try to save money, so you can see that 4k a year is already alot, plus theres the thing that you're working full time so when are you studying? You dont have time to do it
So if you want to study you must do so after high school bc parents let you stay at home and pay for shit, if you go in the army then you missed the opportunity u less they take you back, also I already dread doing 5 years of uni and being dependent on my parents till 25, now imagine doing that but until I'm 28 or even more, in fact if I land this job I'll leave university bc they would pay more than a graduated person would make most likely, assuming they actually offer what they said they would

No but the job opportunity I'm having rn won't repeat itself most likely, as for uni how can you do it after if you have to work full time to live and also study and pay for uni, it's not doable unless you plan on taking 10 years to graduate, plus as a wagecuck with no degree it'll be hard to maintain yourself with that wage, and also study after coming home from 8+ hours of work, so if you wanna study the moment is now that parents help you after high school otherwise you lost the train

I agree but enlisting fricks up some career stuff by taking me away for 3 years, I was actually considering it, depends on how this job thing goes

what I mean is that they never deploy and they give me the feeling that most are there to seek a state job

Dude dont you have larp groups in italy at all "civillian milita" types, or is that solely an american thing. Im sure there are re-enactment groups or some shit you could join in or make a frickin facebook group or some shit to ask around

It certainly isnt widespread as in the us, but I dont exclude some people exist, the problem is finding them, I could try some airsoft or paintball groups, or gun ranges once I have a license, or make a Facebook group but idk about that i wouldn't trust an online group about such a thing

Just enlist and quit being a larp.
Oh wait. That would require you to commit.

Unironically join the military and get training. Try being really good at the basics, maybe aspire to become training staff. Then leave. This not only teaches you what you want to know but also enables you to teach others.
To be effective you will need friends, no way around it.

I was an American infantryman. During training before even being issued weapons we weren't allowed to use our hands getting up from the ground or going up stairs. Train as though both hands are tied up to use a weapon.

I'll echo others, no matter your nationality I suggest you do a minimum enlistment.

No, reserves exist bit are very small and only people who have served can join, i dont even know what they do or how it works bit thats the only one there is, as i was saying earlier Italy doesnt do many military actions so it's not in search of personnel unlike the us

are you planning to die by 30?

exactly what the frick does 3 years mean in the grand scheme of things if it means you serve out a contract as an infantryman and then go and study at university? studying some civilian cuck career is something you can do until you're 75 and retired

running around by yourself in shit gear is moronic, sell all of your dumb gear and find a different hobby or book a flight to ukraine and fight in a war happening right now

I don't know how bad schools are in Italy, (judging by your English it must not be too good,) but in the United States you don't have to pay for Uni after military service. They grant you a GI Bill for a one time get out of debt free card for any scholarship.

See if there's any paintballers you can join. At least you'd be practicing slicing the pie, hand signals and positioning.
Also get innawoods and practice your camping, fishing, offroading, orienteering, hiking, etc., break your toys in and get some practice in setting up a camp, time yourself packing and unpacking and setting up, work on reducing the amount of gear you need gradually.
Do press yourself to swim, especially if it's something you hate, it's just sensible.
    Take a first aid course.
And of course there's an infinity of field manuals to read, from every country and every armed service, even different ones for different decades. A few training vids on Youtube and the Internet Archive too.
I'd recommend martial arts training, whatever is cheap and local, it's all good. Unless it's Oom Yung Doe, frick those guys.

I go innawoods sometimes and i light fires and shit but I live in the padanian plain so no woods, I go in treelines, I used to do competitive boxing btw, also I know how to swim I just dont like it as a workout

If it’s an option for you, train a martial art as well. Stick to proven and real shit, ie. Boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai, maybe a straight up mma gym if you have the time to put in the work to learn everything. I lean more towards striking, even if grappling works in mma fights it completely changes when you’re kitted out and fighting life or death. Better to be able to stay on your feet and strike than be on the ground, unless you decide to be the one who takes it to the ground so you have a better chance of being on top. This is secondary to weapons training and general fitness though, since going h2h should be your absolute last resort

Italy doesn't have reserves like you're meaning it, it's just ex soldiers that can be called up if theres the need

Don't neglect the basic stuff that doesn't sound very "operator".
Can you clean and cook an animal you just shot? Can you change a tire? How's your First Aid? Know how to drive a manual transmission? Know how to operate any common heavy equipment? What's your knowledge of the local area like? Do you know what you can and can't eat if you were forced to forage?

That's almost all stuff I'm reading about, as for the manual ofc there almost only that here

Literally just start doing anything. Depending on how heavy you are, something as simple as no drinks besides water paired with exercise will start shredding pounds quick. Most Americans get most shit tons of calories from drinks, depending on what it is you can be adding nearly 2 meals worth of calories before you even start taking actual food into account. Drink nothing but water for a few months, then try sparkling water with no sugar or caffeine. You’ll never go back to soda, it’ll always leave your mouth gross and slimes with a bad after taste

but it’s difficult to motivate myself. wish I had someone to do things with.
maybe I’ll walk around like a moron and draw my own map and take notes of things that might come in handy when the zombie apocalypse is upon us.
all jokes aside, if I could leave chocolate out of my diet I’d lose weight rapidly 100%

          Anonymous

There’s nothing a stranger on the internet can type that will give you the motivation, you have to find it in yourself. We can give you all the plans and tips on the world but it’s useless if you don’t use them. Just know, every day you wait to start is another day longer it will take to reach your goal. Think about where you would have been if you started a month ago. If you don’t start, in one month think about where you’d be if you started today. If you’re scared you’ll fail, why? Anything is better than what you’re doing now

Might as well ask it here. Me mates have been considering banding our ArmA 3 unintentional war crimes squad again. Can anyone recommend any manuals about small infantry units movement? Like how to move as a unit in different environments and stuff, and react to contact in various cenarios? I always felt we were lacking when moving as a whole, like we left many flanks open and just sperged out when spotted by infantry

Honestly, more power to you if you can feasibly learn all this stuff and retain while focusing on your "career". I have serious doubts most normal people can learn and become proficient in even half these things without doing them regularly, even career infantrymen (U.S 11B) can't remember half these things after enlistment, frick I can't remember half the shit in my enlistment, and I deployed.

Focus on being a functional human being, with connections and build a community you trust, I promise you it will be more valuable than the one man army fantasy you're projecting right now. The people you make friends with, will be the people who know car stuff, who know first aid, who know farming, etc, you CANNOT do it all even if you knew it all.

That being said if you're still intent on doing this, understand most of these things require certifications in their own right, you won't master TCCC without at least being an EMT-B, and then spending time in a clinic or on the line, imagine trying everything else, it will be a full time job on its own, good luck.

      Anonymous

I don't have a one man army fantasy I just want to learn these things, for Tccc I'm planning on doing a course but ofc a 2 day course isnt the same as doing it as a job regularly, but that applies for everything, if you do it on the side you won't be as good as someone who does it as a profession, also true about community

I would have to restart uni from scratch to do military uni plus it's a long term commitment I'm not sure I want to do bc of the reasons I said above, in general I'm on the fence about this choice
