>Might take a lot of them though...
i don't think you realise just how many tin cans i can acquire.
i was thinking shingles too but they rust kinda quick.
Could i maybe make dry cell batteries from the non-plastic coated ones? i have a few with what looks like zinc plating on the inside, copper + zinc = battery but if i used a wet electrolyte that's going to last all of 5 minutes before the can rusts through.
Anyone got can stove designs?
Anything else survival-related they could be turned into?
two different sized tin cans can be fashioned into a nice hobo stove. but why would you need thousands of those anyways unless you trade them in the post apocalypse for other goods
>why would you need thousands of those anyways unless you trade them in the post apocalypse for other goods
answered your own question, anything i have in surplus i can sell now or trade later for other goods and services. stonks.
then become your local post apocalyptic hobo stove supplier, while there is still electricity, drilling is easier done with a drill. Atleast for me, also need a pair of metal scissors and nuts and bolts. Maybe you can come up with a simple design that only requires 2 cans and you only need a metal scissor, holes can be punched in to but it looks a bit more ugly
If you can't find a good use for them in ten minutes, throw all but say four away. They're not great for hardware storage unless in some other bin, drawer or shelf.
Know what to shitcan. SPACE IS WORTH MORE THAN TRASH.
Storage and organization for small parts...
Cut bottoms off, cut at seam and flatten and use them as tin shingles for your house. Might take a lot of them though...

that pic on out? I was testing different hobo stoves, the 4rd one turned out best. I'm boiling 1 litre of water.
